Overview
This Elder's Fists of Avalon build focuses on the use of the weapon in mists, open world PvP and even corrupted dungeons. It's great mobility playing a key role in winning fights and matching against even the top meta weapons you would find. While the skill ceiling is notable and positioning remains important, the build offers a straightforward playstyle that can be enjoyed even by new players. Keep in mind however that the build is quite expensive as it makes use of many expensive items!
Equipment
Usage
Elder's Fists of Avalon
Dragon Leap — This is one of your two movement abilities. With a very short cooldown, Dragon Leap can be used a lot to gain distance from enemies or to chase down players. If you manage to kick at least one enemy, then you can recast the ability with the same 2.5m range and the target hit will be knocked into the air for 0.5s and deal additional damage.
Triple Kick — This is your secondary movement ability and couples perfectly with Dragon Leap helping you move in a fight and repositioning. With Hard to Catch, you also get higher resistances and CC resistance allowing you to lower DoT damage you might have active on you when you use this ability. Keep in mind that you can also use this to interrupt enemies casting abilities!
Purifying Combination — This ability has 2 parts. The initial cast allows you to leap to a location and throw enemies hit into the air. The second cast will create an explosion in a line outwards from the character and in any direction you want. This is your main damaging ability and you should aim to play around this ability, waiting for the cooldown while kiting.
Hard to Catch — This passive offers you extra resistance when you use Triple Kick and helps a lot with your overall survival.
Elder's Mistwalker Jacket
Mist Cloud — This skill will turn you into a cloud and making you invulnerable to everything but slows you down a bit. Keep in mind that this ability has a high mana cost and you should mostly use this to dodge big damaging abilities like Pyroblast or even use it against someone using the Electric Field.
Balanced Mind — This passive increases your damage which is good for the build.
Elder's Cowl of Purity
Avalonian Beam — This is your secondary damaging ability and it can be used either close range or from further away while you're kiting your opponent. Keep in mind that it goes in a line and while it does good damage, it can easily be missed. Try to use this when the enemy doesn't have an active run in order to maximize your chance of hitting. You can also use this after the first part of Purifying Combination while they are knocked up.
Aggression — This passive not only boosts your damage so it's obvious to take this.
Elder's Scholar Sandals
Energetic Sprint — The sandals you use don't make a big difference but you want to make sure that you're using cloth shoes in order to get the mana from your run because the build is rather mana hungry, especially with constant use of Mist Cloud.
Aggression — Aggression provides flat extra damage which is exactly what you need for this build while the other three options are worthless to you.
Elder's Undead Cape
Vanisher — Keep in mind that this automatically triggers when your HP falls below 15% and it turns you invisible. There is no way to stop this from happening so do your best to not trigger this on mobs. You should use this to reposition and/or run away as the invisibility lasts a good while and can be paired with Invisibility Potion.
Rotations
- Start poking your enemy with Dragon Leap in order to look for openings. You can use Avalonian Beam when the target is knocked up into the air but you can also use Triple Kick for some extra damage instead. Next, use the first part of the Purifying Combination and knock your enemy into the air, setting up a chance to use Avalonian Beam if you didn't use it before. You should finish off your damage rotation with the second part of Purifying Combination before kiting again and waiting for your cooldowns.
Consumables
Major Gigantify Potion — Use this to minimize damage taken during a fight. It should mostly be used to help with mitigating damage from heavy hitting abilities though.
You can also use Invisibility Potion to help with your escapes and allowing you to take some fights and test your limits. However, keep in mind that you can be knocked out of the effect if you take damage.
Pork Omelette - Is the perfect choice for the build as it offers good cooldown reduction and helps with your kiting.
