Overview
This Elder's Longbow build focuses on dealing high burst damage on pulls while also offering great support by decreasing the cooldowns of your entire group between the pulls. The build remains very easy to play which is great for new players that are looking to deal good damage but also be useful to their team.
Equipment
Usage
Elder's Longbow
Deadly Shot — You should always align this shot so it hits as many enemies as possible during pulls because each hit decreases mob defenses and helps with killing them efficiently.
Explosive Arrows — Use this on cooldown as it adds an explosive AOE effect to your next 10 arrows, helping a lot with improving your DPS.
Rain of Arrows — This is your main damage ability and it offers great burst potential. However, keep in mind that it fires 3 volleys and you have to remain stationary when casting it. Wait for your tank to pull and silence a clump of mobs before using this.
Piercing Arrows — This passive will help a bit by decreasing the defenses of all mobs you hit with your auto-attacks.
Elder's Royal Jacket
Royal Banner — This is your main support ability and a great choice for just about any group. You should pop this cooldown after your group killed a clump of mobs in order to grant everyone that stacks on top of you the cooldown reduction, helping refresh their cooldowns before the next pull.
Balanced Mind — This is one of the passives that increases your damage and an obvious choice.
Elder's Specter Hood
Flash of Insight — You should use this after you've used your Royal Banner in order to reset its cooldown and use that ability again. This will essentially let you cast the Royal Banner twice every minute or so as both Royal Banner and Flash of Insight have a very similar cooldown.
Balanced Mind — This passive increases your damage which is perfect as it matches your goal to deal as much damage as possible.
Elder's Shoes of Tenacity
Blind Spot — This ability deals extra damage the first time you do damage after activating it. It's a good choice for some extra damage and can be used every pull.
Balanced Mind — This increases your damage even further, can't go wrong with it.
Elder's Thetford Cape
Chain Lightning — Be careful when using this passive and wait for your tank to properly pull a group of mobs before you use your auto-attacks as they might trigger the Chain Lightning and the skill can spread out to mobs that aren't pulled.
Rotations
- Wait for your tank to pull mobs first before using Blind Spot and following up with Rain of Arrows for quick burst AOE damage. Continue with a cast of Deadly Shot to both damage and weaken mobs before using Explosive Arrows to enhance your auto-attacks and deliver AOE damage each time. Your first auto-attack will also trigger the AOE Chain Lightning. Keep auto-attacking and casting Deadly Shot on cooldown until the group of mobs is dead.
Use Royal Banner to refresh everyone's cooldowns and then use Flash of Insight to reset your Royal Banner cooldown entirely.
Consumables
Major Poison Potion — The poison has many uses but most important use would be onto bosses in order to both do damage and also decrease their defenses. Make sure you coordinate with your party before using the poison as they do not stack and you want to cycle everyone's use of poison so a poison is always active on the boss.
Pork Omelette — Use this to decrease your cooldowns and make it so you get to use your abilities even more often! Use a 7.1 version if you can afford it.
