Overview

This Elder's Weeping RepeaterElder's Weeping Repeater build offers incredible AOE burst damage with low cooldowns. It is capable of rivaling other high DPS builds in group PVE content of all kinds like Avalonian Dungeons, Hardcore Expeditions, Statics or Group Dungeons. While the combo takes a bit of practice to get used to, the build isn't too difficult to play even for newer players once you've understood how to play around your Well-PreparedWell-Prepared passive.

Keep in mind: Gear shown in this build is meant as a reference. Choosing the correct tier of gear is very tricky as there are many variables. Some of them being your budget, your spec and minimum Item Power requirements of your guild if used for ZvZ.

You should always check prices based on IP of the items. For example, a masterpiece quality 4.3 Elder's CryptcandleElder's Cryptcandle could be cheaper while providing roughly the same IP as an 8.0.

Usage

Elder's Weeping RepeaterElder's Weeping Repeater

Explosive BoltExplosive Bolt — This is one of your main damaging abilities with a nice medium range that delivers high AOE damage to all mobs hit by it. Through the use of Well-PreparedWell-Prepared, it is constantly reset every 4th time you use this or another ability. Make sure to use Explosive BoltExplosive Bolt as your 4th ability so it resets its own cooldown and you can use it twice in a row to deliver a nice burst damage.

CaltropsCaltrops — Use this ability to slow down mobs but also deal damage, always pop it under their feet so they cannot dodge or in the path where your tank is taking the mobs. You can also use this to build 2 stacks of Well-PreparedWell-Prepared.

Explosive MineExplosive Mine — This mine works a lot like the CaltropsCaltrops as you place it onto the ground before it activates and explodes, dealing high AOE damage to all mobs around the location where it was first planted if any mob walks over it.

Well-PreparedWell-Prepared — This passive is the core of the build as it lets you cast Explosive BoltExplosive Bolt twice in quick succession and is part of the reason why the Elder's Weeping RepeaterElder's Weeping Repeater is such a great weapon.

Elder's Druid RobeElder's Druid Robe

Obsessive BurstObsessive Burst — This ability allows you to do extra damage and greatly increases your damage. You should use this as part of your combo and usually as the third ability to cast part of Well-PreparedWell-Prepared stacking so you can follow up by using another Explosive BoltExplosive Bolt to trigger the passive. Keep in mind that the damage boost you get from Obsessive BurstObsessive Burst comes from casting abilities and the stack increases each time but also resets its own duration every time which means you can force it to last a while.

AggressionAggression — This is your only good choice as it increases your flat damage and is perfect for the build.

Elder's Royal CowlElder's Royal Cowl

Perpetual EnergyPerpetual Energy — This is the ability that helps a lot with your mana sustain. Because of its relative low cooldown and long duration, it means you can keep using this ability to cut the mana use to 0 while its active, allowing your mana to regenerate as well and sustain your DPS.

AggressionAggression — This passive offers you extra damage which is great to have!

Elder's Shoes of TenacityElder's Shoes of Tenacity

Blind SpotBlind Spot — This ability will turn you invisible (only to players), then the next attack you do will be enchanted and extra damage will be applied. This helps quite a bit with DPS.

Another option would be the use of Refreshing SprintRefreshing Sprint found on any leather shoes if you are looking for a cheaper alternative.

Balanced MindBalanced Mind — Yet another damage increasing passive.

Elder's Demon CapeElder's Demon Cape

Opening to HellOpening to Hell — This ability will create a pool of lava under the feet of whatever mob you hit with your auto-attack whenever the cape isn't on cooldown. This lava pool will deal high AOE damage to all mobs caught in it and its great to have, helping a lot with DPS.

You can also opt for Elder's Caerleon CapeElder's Caerleon Cape once you've mastered the build but keep in mind that the Elder's Caerleon CapeElder's Caerleon Cape will reset your Q from time to time which will mess up with your Well-PreparedWell-Prepared stacks, making it more difficult to keep track of them.

  • Well-PreparedWell-Prepared is your main thing to keep track of as it resets the cooldown on your Explosive BoltExplosive Bolt. The best way executing the combo is that you want to always start DPSing a pull once you have 2 stacks of the passive before using another longer cooldown like Obsessive BurstObsessive Burst then using Explosive BoltExplosive Bolt to reset its own cooldown as the 4th ability and then cast it again.

You can use both Explosive BoltExplosive Bolt and CaltropsCaltrops to start your stack at 2, then use any longer cooldown like Explosive MineExplosive Mine followed by a double Explosive BoltExplosive Bolt to finish the combo.

Consumables

Major Poison PotionMajor Poison Potion — The poison has various uses, but its primary use is against bosses, where it not only inflicts damage but also reduces their defenses. For tier 7+ content, it's advisable to use a T6 or T4.1 version. For lower-tier content, a T4 version will be fine.

Beef StewBeef Stew — This is the best food to use as it improves your overall damage. Try to use an 8.2 version if you plan on tackling higher tier content.

An alternative would be Pork OmelettePork Omelette to further decrease your cooldowns!
