Full Caravans Guide

Caravans are player-operated vehicles designed to move trade goods across the world in Ashes of Creation. They become accessible once a node reaches the Village Stage 3 and higher, where players can interact with Caravan Master NPCs at caravansary buildings to initiate their trade.

Buying Commodities

First you will have to make sure you have some Glint in order to purchase the caravan goods. Once you do, go to the Commodity Vendor located in the node village and buy them.

Starting The Caravan

Next, you will have to get to the Caravansary building to begin the actual caravan trade run. This is where you can adjust your caravan and add specific caravan equipment to increase the caravan stats like its resistances, speed and cargo layout. This is also where you begin the caravan itself, creating it and allowing you to start moving.

Caravan Equipment

Next, you will have to get to the Caravansary building to begin the actual caravan trade run. This is where you can adjust your caravan and add specific caravan equipment to increase the caravan stats like its resistances, speed and cargo layout. This is also where you begin the caravan itself, creating it and allowing you to start moving.

Chassis
Caravan Chassis - This is the caravan part that dictates your caravan's HP and armor along with magic resistance. However, the Chassis also increases the capacity width of the caravan, allowing you to fit more commodities into the caravan and more importantly, adjust the way they stack in the empty places.

Carriage
Caravan Carriage - Just like the Caravan Chassis, the Carriage also dictates your caravan HP, armor and magic resistance. It also increases the capacity height, helping you fit in more and different trade commodities.
Wheels
Caravan Wheels - The Caravan Wheels are the main way of increasing Caravan speed and turning speed, allowing you to cut down the time it takes to reach your destination with the Caravan.
Caravan Armor
Caravan Armor - Caravan Armor act as increased defense, adding extra HP and resistances but also adding utility slots which aren't in the game yet but will be added later into Ashes development.
Beast of Burden
Beast of Burden - This is another way of increasing the speed of your caravan and a great upgrade you can have for your caravan. These Beasts of Burden are raised through Animal Husbandry and its also a good way of making gold.

Delivering is done at any node that has a Caravansary building and players will be rewarded with gold based on the distance travelled and the items traded.

Caravan PvP

Due to Caravans carrying valuable items, many players would be interested in getting their hands on them. Anyone near a caravan can flag up and choose to eithe defend or attack the caravans, allowing them to PVP freely, kill & loot the caravan. This is considered an event in itself and you should pay close attention when groups of players come up to your caravan as they can flag up and attack you at any time.

Once a Caravan is destroyed, loot boxes will spawn near where the caravan was destroyed and can be taken by players using Crowbars or transported into a new caravan that can be summoned at the location using a Caravan Request Beacon.

Beast of Burden
Caravan Request Beacon - This is an item you can use to summon your Caravan to any location, and while it takes a bit of time, it allows you to loot caravan boxes and move them to delivery yourself.
Crowbar
Crowbar - Crowbars come in different qualities, from File:-1Novice Crowbar as the lowest quality while File:-1Journeyman Crowbar is the next quality up. File:-1Apprentice Crowbar is the highest quality Crowbar you can get.

Caravan Tips & Tricks

Water Caravans - Just because your caravan starts on land, it doesn't mean it has to remain on land the whole time. Going up to a river and transforming it into a raft is possible and often encouraged to use as a shortcut to your destination.
