How to make gold in Ashes of Creation

Glint Farming

Glint is a bound currency dropped by mobs and players, which can be sold to vendors for gold. This is the main way of getting gold in Ashes of Creation as a beginner as most mobs will drop Glint when killed. The Fighter is a particularly good class for this gold making method due to its high cleave damage and ability to pull a lot of mobs and kill them solo without need for a party.

This method is also very good for the solo players looking to farm a bit of gold whenever they aren't doing group content or leveling up. Keep in mind however that glint is also earned as a group when farming together and stacking the glint is also good in case you want to give Caravans a try and lower the investment by farming the glint by hand and turning it into a caravan.

The main 3 Glint you should be farming are the Dull, Dim and Glowing Glint as these are the main ones you will come across while remaining relatively easy to farm even before you reach max level.

Dull Glint - This is the base level Glint and the most common of them all, dropped from mobs at the beginning of the game and in larger qualities as you advance and start killing higher level mobs. One Dull Glint is worth 10 copper and 10 can be turned into one Dim Glint by right clicking them in your inventory, helping with inventory management.

Dim Glint - Dim Glint is the second most common Glint in AoC and plenty of it drops once you've pushed to killing mobs around level 10. One Dim Glint is worth 1 silver and you can right click 10 of them in the inventory to turn them into Glowing Glint.

Glowing Glint - While some of the Glowing Glint drops from mobs, the main way of getting it remains to turn Dim Glint into Glowing Glint. This rare glint version is worth 10 silver when sold to the vendor and many players usually stack it in order to make materials for caravans and snowball into even more gold.

Gathering Professions

While farming mobs and selling their drops is a great way of making gold early, Gathering Professions are another, arguably better route to take for those looking to make gold and constantly improve the amount by increasing profession skill. As early as level 1, every character goes through the main story quest which will offer a set of basic tools to gather materials found throughout the world. And so, you should always be on the lookout for materials while you travel, always gathering as you see them so you can stack then sell them either on the auction house or through direct trade to other players.

Professions like Mining, Herbalism and Hunting are the most profitable while Lumberjacking offers a decent amount of gold but is not as good for making gold as the other three.

High-demand resources include but are not limited to:

Rividium Ore - This is one of the most used resources in the game as its used for crafting a lot of the end game items, gathering this in a high quality can fetch a good amount of gold once you've gotten the proficiency to.

Iron Ore - The Iron is one of the mid-game materials that is used a lot in both weaponcrafting and armorcrafting, well sought-out by the crafters and easy to sell.

Grave Lily - Like the Rividium Ore and Iron Ore, the Grave Lily is the herbalism equivalent which is used in many recipes, especially light armor for mages and clerics.

Giant Bluebell - This is the mid-game herb to get as you can start gathering it rather early into your Ashes of Creation experience and they remain rather easy to find throughout the map.
