Levels 1–5: Getting Started

Solo Leveling: As you spawn in and you take your weapons, you should start to level by killing the goblins near the starting area. Gather them up in groups and AOE them down as they are rather easy to kill. However, depending on the class, you might have to kill them one by one until you are level 3. You can continue doing this until level 5 as well but it is preferred that you go into Samia's Hope once you are level 3, continuing the story quests there and until you get a horse. West of Samia's Hope is where you find all kinds of mobs that give better XP, mostly bandits that are easy to kill and reward plenty of experience. Kill these until you reach level 5 before returning to Samia's Hope and beginning the Surplus Gear Questline by talking to Esh-Rumat Qeyara.

Group Leveling: Even as a group, the leveling experience between level 1 and 5 doesn't change much. You will have an easier time killing mobs but you should stay in the same areas or go north east of Samia's Hope for higher mob density, killing higher level goblins once you've reached level 3.

Levels 5-10: Building Momentum

Solo Leveling: Once you are level 5, you should first complete the Surplus Coins quest to the point where you have 3 coins before going to a town and buying the Sanctus weapon to greatly increase your damage potential. Once you've done that you should start going west on the map to Church of The Seven Stars where you can kill mobs one by one, however, try to stay away from the elites. Another option is to go into Baneswood Cemetery and single pull animals, killing them one by one for XP until level 10.

Group Leveling: Take your group of Church of The Seven Stars and AOE farm the elite mobs slowly to quickly boost your XP gain significantly compared to leveling solo by killing the non-elite skeletons solo. You can easily level here to 10 but it might take a bit between 9 and 10. Another good option is to farm Shardlings east of Miraleth but try to keep the group small (2-3 people) to maintain high XP gain.
