Garren Rood Magick Spirit Build
- Great Single Target DPS
- Fun to Play
- Easy to Play
- Low Mobility
- Low AoE Damage
Overview
This Garren Rood build is focuses on boosting damage with
Spirit and leaning into the mage playstyle where you can take out groups of enemies with ease from afar while the
Garren Rood abilities are perfect for Crow controlling enemies and dictating whatever range of engagement you want to keep.
Virtues

Eventhough Garren Rood skills mostly scale with
Courage, it doesn't mean that
Spirit cannot be used to boost damage as it is more than enough to deal high damage thanks to the use of
Odiac.
Skills

Torment – A very strong single-target attack that can instantly kill most enemies. If it doesn’t, it still inflicts heavy damage and stuns the target long enough for you to finish them off if they survive the first cast. It also fully restores your HP, making it essential for self-healing, making it easier to survive.
Behest – A powerful debuff that blinds enemies and lowers their defenses, making them easier to kill. Use it after you’ve gathered enemies together.
Stampede – A large-area attack that works as an area of denial. Stags appear and charge into enemies, dealing continuous damage within the area every time a stag hits an enemy (they can also hit weakpoints).
Garren Rood Upgrades
Since both Herdheart and
Righteous will likely be changed after Prelude 10, it’s not worth upgrading them right now. Instead, put your upgrades into
Everbound and
Iridis' Favour to increase your Spirit and Max HP.
Akin, on the other hand, is great for reducing all your ability cooldowns.
Equipment

Joineries
Make sure to use a "Blessed by Iridis" Joinary if you find one, if not, don't bother reforging unless you at least have a Polished variant of the Joinery. Keep in mind that whenever you add one to a weapon, this will return the weapon to level 1 and it will have to be leveled again.
