Garren Rood Melee Courage Build
- High Single Target DPS
- Great Debuffs
- Good AOE DPS
- Low Mobility
- Low Range
Overview
This Garren Rood build focuses on stacking
Courage to boost damage. This build focuses on melee combat, using the
Oryn-Umbr to deal good damage while having the shield to rely on and use to throw so you can fight at mid-range while still remaining very strong in close range.
Virtues

Garren Rood skills mostly scale on
Courage even though the
Garren Rood doesn't offer extra innate
Courage. However, the single target nuke
Torment scales its damage with
Courage, making it a very powerful virtue to stack up in order to oneshot enemies.
Skills

Torment – This single target nuke is fantastic for getting rid of one enemy at a time, dealing high damage that usually kills most enemies. And if it doesn't, it still deals good damage and stuns the enemy long enough for you to finish them off. Additionally:Another important part of
Torment is that it also heals you to full HP, making this very important for self-healing and turning the
Garren Rood into a very competent tank.
Behest – This is a fantastic debuff that blinds enemies and alos lowers their defenses when they are hit. You should use this once you stacked enemies together.
Stampede – A great AOE ability on its own,
Stampede is fantastic for area of denial and keeping enemies take damage constantly in an area as stags appear and smash into them.
Garren Rood Upgrades
With both Herdheart &
Righteous being broken in Prelude 10, there is no point upgrading them. Instead, upgrade
Everbound,
Mora's Pride alongside
Akin as soon as possible. This will give you plenty of
Courage and Max HP while
Akin is great for lowering cooldowns.

Joineries
Make sure your Joinery doesn’t change your weapon’s base attunement virtue. If you choose a Blessed version, pick “Blessed by Mora” and avoid other Blessed types.
