- Low-ish damage
Overview
Using
Stormbreaker Spear with
Soulshade Umbrella creates one of the tankiest builds in Where Winds Meet and a great choice for those looking to get into Where Winds Meet PvP without having to learn complex rotations. The spear offers you a huge amount of Fortitude, which means you’re basically CC-immune through your whole combo. Even if the attacks are slow, the build remains more than capable of doing damage and beating up players in 1vs1 arenas and group PVP.
While the build is defensive enough as is, it also has good healing with
Soulshade Umbrella. The
Echoes of a Thousand Plants is basically entirely passive and heals you and allies without having to think about it too much. The damage increasing buff cannot be ignored either as
Floating Grace adds 15% extra damage to yourself and your allies around you.
Martial Arts
Gear
Stats Priority
While the Gear part of the build is still under development and more information will come soon, you should use the Rainwhisper + Moonflare set combo and make sure to keep the buff active by weaving in Heavy and Light attacks as needed. This part of the build is still under construction as far as specific stats go.
Inner Way
Battle Anthem is a great choice to boost Charged Skill damage. It works especially well with how often you use
Fury Spear, since that skill already has built-in Fortitude to protect you while charging. To support the off-healing potential of the build,
Restoring Blossom is another strong option, giving you higher overall healing so you can keep both yourself and your allies alive more easily.
At the same time,
Morale Chant is still at the top as one of the best Inner Ways in the entire game. It gives you steady damage and extra healing, and it’s incredibly easy to keep stacked because it refreshes every time your Umbrella heals while
Echoes of a Thousand Plants is active. For even more safety,
Trapped Beast provides a reliable shield whenever your HP drops too low so you don't die when you're being combo'd.
Mystic Skills
To keep yourself alive during dangerous moments,
Golden Body is one of your best defensive picks. It does cost a lot of vitality, but the protection and Fortitude it provides makes it great for surviving or winning more easily. You can also swap for
Ghostly Steps, which hides you during dashes and can help you surprise enemies.
For clean CC options and winning trades,
Leaping Toad and
Talon Strike are reliable choices. Both knock enemies down and break their Qi.
Talon Strike hits lighter and is harder to land, but because it goes through block, it’s excellent against players who spam guard. You can also replace it with
Yaksha Rush if you want a different kind of pressure tool.
When you want to pressure players from distance,
Meridian Touch is perfect. It forces enemies to react early and also allows you to Execute low-HP targets without having to chase them across the whole arena. If you actually do need to chase,
Cloud Steps gives you a quick jump forward, though it can still be blocked if the enemy is ready for it, but you can fake it out and dash back right after to avoid the comeback.
Your single most important PvP skill is still
Serene Breeze, essentially valid in all PvP Builds. It instantly breaks CC, letting you escape, reset, or turn a losing trade into a winning one with good timing. Is great to also get
Dragon's Breath as it adds quick follow-up damage and steady pressure if you can land it, defensively or offensively.
Rotations
- Use
Echoes of a Thousand Plants to have a constant heal before swapping into
Stormbreaker Spear.
- Try to catch an enemy with
Storm Roar to deal some damage and also increase the damage you do to the same player while decreasing the damage you receive. Follow-up with a quick
Thunder Shock (this has Fortitude so you generally can go through enemy attacks) into a
Talon Strike in order to catch the enemy out of block and deal damage or even knock them down onto the ground.
- Continue with a charged
Fury Spear then straight into
Thunder Shock. You generally want to back off to heal. You can also swap in a
Soaring Spin after knocking an enemy down instead of using
Fury Spear &
Thunder Shock.
