As you level and progress in Ashes of Creation as a Ranger, Escape VelocityEscape Velocity is perfect to boost your movement speed while sprinting in combat (default key C) and it also helps with kiting enemies, making it much easier to AOE farm. This becomes even more important later in the game, allowing you to kite mobs while waiting for cooldowns or to escape dangerous situations entirely if needed.

Next, invest in Recuperation Training and Evasive ManeuverEvasive Maneuver to boost your evasion rate while dodging. This also unlocks SpringstepSpringstep, which greatly improves your mobility by increasing your roll distance.

Afterward, use your remaining points on the Guard Training branch to reduce stamina drain when blocking (default key E). Adding Mental FortificationMental Fortification can also be useful, as it reduces the chance of being crowd-controlled (CC’d) while blocking, which is helpful in certain situations.

  • First make sure that you have both Imbue Ammo: WeightedImbue Ammo: Weighted and Hunt of the TigerHunt of the Tiger active as it helps a great deal when kiting by staggering targets you hit. At the same time, Hunt of the TigerHunt of the Tiger greatly increases the crit damage you do.
  • Start the rotation by pulling mobs through the use of your bow auto-attacks before lining them up so you hit all of them when using Scatter ShotScatter Shot. Having them in a line helps a great deal once you have Concentrated Scatter ShotConcentrated Scatter Shot active as the width of the skill doesn't reach too far. Finish the rotation with DisengageDisengage then either wait for cooldowns before doing another pull or regenerate your HP.

  • Make sure you are using Imbue Ammo: BarbedImbue Ammo: Barbed for this before you use Bear TrapBear Trap onto the ground between yourself and the enemy as you prepare to pull the mob in question. Use Barrage to apply Bleed then use SnipeSnipe to deal very high damage before transitioning straight into Lightning ReloadLightning Reload and following up with another SnipeSnipe.
  • Continue the rotation with Thundering ShotThundering Shot and then HeadshotHeadshot once the target is below 50% HP as that will increase the damage you do with HeadshotHeadshot.

  • First, ensure that both Imbue Ammo: WeightedImbue Ammo: Weighted and Hunt of the TigerHunt of the Tiger are active. These are very helpful for kiting, as Imbue Ammo: WeightedImbue Ammo: Weighted staggers the targets you hit, while Hunt of the TigerHunt of the Tiger significantly boosts your critical damage.
  • Pull mobs with your bow auto-attacks before luring them together so you can use Scatter ShotScatter Shot two times and apply the Snare debuff thanks to Imbue Ammo: WeightedImbue Ammo: Weighted. Follow up with Air StrikeAir Strike and flip over the enemies, rooting them in place. Use Thundering ShotThundering Shot in order to apply the Shocked debuff and boost Raining DeathRaining Death damage to deal higher AOE damage.
  • Use Lightning ReloadLightning Reload and then use Raining DeathRaining Death again to finish off the rotation.
