Mortal Rope Dart & Inkwell Fan PvP Build
- Good DPS
- Great Air Juggle Potential
- Very fun to play
- High Skill Ceiling
- Off-meta
- Tough to do well
- Weak in Group PvP
Overview
In this build you are meant to use the
Mortal Rope Dart for good damage while also opening up the enemies to multiple attacks from the rat pet that comes with the
Mortal Rope Dart and cannot be avoided.
Inkwell Fan adds both extra damage and range control, letting you deal damage from range while controlling the terms of the fight. The
Inkwell Fan also adds the potential for airborne damage, giving you the option to airjuggle enemies.
Martial Arts
Gear
While the Gear part of the build is still under development and more information will come soon, you should use the Hawkwing + Eaglerise set combo. This part of the build is still under construction as far as specific stats go.
Inner Way
With
Vendetta, your
Bladebound Thread applies a longer-lasting Vendetta Token, letting your rat deal increased damage for a longer period.
Flying Gourds adds extra charges to your
Peak's Springless Silence, giving you more chances to airjuggle enemies while also adding some mobility.
Morale Chant is one of the strongest PvP Inner Ways in Where Winds Meet and is a core pick for most builds, including this one, though it can be a pricey jade investment early on.
Trapped Beast is great for adding a safety shield, helping you survive more combos without going down.
Mystic Skills
Serene Breeze is one of the most important skills, as it breaks you out of CC chains.
Cloud Steps is great for catching enemies off guard and closing the distance quickly.
Dragon's Breath is strong at the end of combos, adding a DoT that helps prevent enemies from making a comeback.
Cloud Steps also gives good mobility for jumping between targets, while
Yaksha Rush can go through Blocks and punish players who rely on it (lots of this happening in PVP 1VS1 arena).
Leaping Toad and
Talon Strike both work as knock-down CC options, though
Talon Strike is harder to land and does less damage, it can also go through block and can knock enemies down for you to exploit.
Meridian Touch is useful for chip damage and can also finish enemies from range if you follow up immediately after using it.
Rotations
- Begin the rotation protected from CC with
Rodent's Resilience, then use
Rodent Rampage to buff yourself and summon your rat. After that, use
Bladebound Thread and follow to continue the combo before using
Dual-Weapon Skill to swap into the fan rotation.
- Begin the rotation with
Peak's Springless Silence to pop the enemy into the air then use
Moon Shatter Spring to follow the target through the air. Once back on the ground, follow up with a free
Soaring Spin to further damage the enemy before using Deflect to cancel out of second attack if needed. You can then use either
Jadewind Shield to play defensive from there on or use
Peak's Springless Silence to teleport back to the original position where you first used it.
