Mortal Rope Dart & Vernal Umbrella PvP Build
- Good Range
- Good Combos
- Fun to Play
- Good Range Control
- High Skill Ceiling
- Can be clunky
- Too many combo gaps
Overview
This build's strength is the capability of fighting both up-close and also at range with the
Mortal Rope Dart and the
Vernal Umbrella, offering a great option for players looking to play a build that is more complex and offers plenty of room to improve. While this build has high single target damage potential, it lacks in AOE but makes up for it with self-healing and 1vs1 potential.
Martial Arts
Gear
While the Gear part of the build is still under development and more information will come soon, you should use the Hawkwing + Eaglerise set combo. This part of the build is still under construction as far as specific stats go.
Inner Way
Use
Trapped Beast as a good PVP Inner Way in order to add an extra shield that protects you from dying when going low in a PVP fight. This is a no-brainer in a lot of PVP situations.
Blossom Barrage offers an extra charge for the
Spring Sorrow, making it one of the strongest options too as it helps you control fights through crowd control, improving your general fight potential.
Morale Chant is a must-have as it increases damage done. This Inner Way is vital for having good damage potential. Using
Vendetta, your
Bladebound Thread applies a longer-lasting Vendetta Token, allowing your rat to deal increased damage for longer while also being unblockable, letting you combo it alongside the
Vernal Umbrella.
Mystic Skills
Cloud Steps is great for catching enemies off guard and closing the distance quickly.
Dragon's Breath is strong at the end of combos, adding a DoT that helps prevent enemies from making a comeback.
Cloud Steps also offers great mobility and a way to engage enemies (keep in mind that it can be blocked). Use either
Talon Strike &
Yaksha Rush to go through Blocks in order to overwhelm enemies that might try to play very defensive against you.
Of course,
Leaping Toad is another good damage skill that also deals a lot of QI damage.
Meridian Touch is useful for poking enemies while also having the option of executing players when their Qi bar is gone. The most important PVP Mystic Skill remains the
Serene Breeze though as it can break you out of CC (Crowd Control).
Rotations
- Begin the rotation protected from CC with
Rodent's Resilience, then use
Rodent Rampage to buff yourself and summon your rat. After that, use
Bladebound Thread to deal damage before transitioning into a Light Attack combo or
Leaping Toad.
- Do your best to land
Spring Sorrow and stun the enemy while also boosting your follow-up damage
Spring Away but keep in mind that this can be parried and it will destroy your Qi bar so don't abuse it. Once you built up some Blossom,
Unfading Flower becomes an obvious choice to help your DPS, swapping back into the
Mortal Rope Dart to deal damage.
