Stormbreaker Spear & Inkwell Fan PvP Build
- Tanky
- Good CC
- Easy to Play
- Off-meta
- Low Damage
Overview
The
Stormbreaker Spear is a very tanky build that can do well in 1vs1 PVP eventhough it is considered off-meta and doesn't do as much damage as a combo using the
Thundercry Blade. The
Stormbreaker Spear also offers a great deal of Fortitude as all of its skills also grant you CC immunity, making it much easier to trade vs other players. Pairing this with the
Inkwell Fan air juggle potential allows for good combo potential without having to dive in too much, allowing you to deal damage from range from behind your
Jadewind Shield and using it to deny any dives onto you.
Martial Arts
Gear
Stats Priority
While the Gear part of the build is still under development and more information will come soon, you should use the Rainwhisper + Formbend set combo. You can use Moonflare for armor until Formbend becomes available. This part of the build is still under construction as far as specific stats go.
Inner Way
Since this build lacks raw damage, your Mystic Skills need to carry more of the pressure.
Fury Harvest helps with this by giving extra vitality, making it easier to chain Mystic Skills more often and keep combos going. To stay mobile,
Evasive Charge is very important. It helps you manage endurance better and refunds endurance when you perfect dodge, which is extremely strong for a defensive playstyle that relies on movement.
For survivability,
Trapped Beast adds a safety net. When your HP gets low, it creates a shield that can stop you from getting finished off and gives you time to recover. As always,
Morale Chant remains one of the strongest Inner Ways. Every hit increases your damage, letting you build steady DPS over the course of a fight and making it hard to skip in any setup.
Mystic Skills
Golden Body is a strong defensive tool that gives you protection and even more Fortitude, and it can even help nearby allies when things go bad and you need to help your group.
Cloud Steps helps you move fast, either to chase or reposition, but it can be blocked so do not spam it.
Your most important PvP skill is still
Serene Breeze. It breaks CC instantly, lets you escape combos, reset fights, or heal back up. Skipping this skill in PvP is a huge mistake. For ranged pressure,
Meridian Touch is very useful. It lets you poke safely and Execute low HP enemies without needing to fully commit.
Dragon's Breath adds burn damage to single targets or groups when you catch them off-guard or they are focusing you.
To punish players who jump on you,
Talon Strike and
Yaksha Rush are both strong. They knock enemies down and go through block, making them very good against aggressive or defensive players.
Leaping Toad fills a similar role while also applying poison that staggers and spreads.
Rotations
- Use
Storm Roar to catch an enemy before transitioning into
Thunder Shock to add vulnerability and using
Fury Spear to deal good damage and follow-through.
- Use
Peak's Springless Silence to jump onto a target and then follow-up with the
Moon Shatter Spring to continue the combo before dealing damage with
Soaring Spin. Then, you can either cancel the second hit with Deflect and use
Dragon's Breath to apply the burn while using
Drunken Poet to pierce through regular attacks and still land heavy damage unless the enemy has Fortitude.
