Strategic Sword & Mortal Rope Dart PvP Build
- Good DPS
- Good Mobility
- Good Catches
- High Skill Floor
- Difficult to Play Well
- Buff Reliant
- Requires Setup
Overview
This build uses the
Mortal Rope Dart for catch options and the
Strategic Sword to deal high damage combos that keep enemies locked into place and incapable of getting away from you. While the damage isn't as high as other builds, this build does very well when played strategically without rushing into fights, relying more on defensive and counterattacks than on going in constantly.
Martial Arts
Gear
While the Gear part of the build is still under development and more information will come soon, you should use the Hawkwing + Eaglerise set combo. This part of the build is still under construction as far as specific stats go.
Inner Way
Sword Horizon is a core part of this build because it extends the
Strategic Sword combo, adding extra bleed stacks and helping keep enemies locked down in your attacks. This makes it essential, as both
Inner Balance Strike III and
Inner Track Slash gain longer, more damaging combo chains.
Morale Chant remains one of the strongest Inner Ways in Where Winds Meet and is a staple for nearly every build—including PvP—so it’s something you absolutely don’t want to skip. For defense,
Trapped Beast provides a reliable safety net by granting a shield whenever your HP gets low.
With
Vendetta, your
Bladebound Thread applies a longer-lasting Vendetta Token, allowing your rat to benefit from an extended damage boost and contribute more consistently throughout fights.
Mystic Skills
Yaksha Rush combos perfectly into
Free Morph to juggle enemies into the air and deal good damage.
Talon Strike is great for dealing damage but also knocking down enemies for you to press the agression.
Dragon's Breath is another good option for DOT damage which can also be cancelled by using Deflect to cancel the animation quickly and continue fighting. Follow up the
Dragon's Breath.
Cloud Steps is very powerful for initiating or dodging attacks. Use this when you are being charged by an attack or to close the distance to the enemy.
Another must-have is
Serene Breeze, which pulls you out of CC and enemy attack chains, letting you safely reset and re-engage.
Golden Body is also a valuable defensive option, granting full CC immunity for its duration and helping you survive—or even finish—a fight when things get dangerous.
Rotations
- Begin the rotation by fishing out for an engage, either after blocking an enemy attack or catching them off guard. Buff yourself with
Rodent Rampage and get the rat out. Then, use
Bladebound Thread and Light Attacks until you are done with the combo, doing
Dragon's Breath up next as both a defensive skill and a way to add a dot.
- Use
Free Morph if you get the opportunity then swap into the
Strategic Sword to use
Inner Track Slash &
Inner Balance Strike III.
