Thundercry Blade & Inkwell Fan PvP Build
- Very Tanky
- Good Mobility
- Easy to Play
- Boring to play
- Slow
- Off-meta Low Damage
Overview
Using
Thundercry Blade together with the
Inkwell Fan combines the high resistance of the
Thundercry Blade with the strong mobility of the
Inkwell Fan and its ability to create walls for protection as the
Jadewind Shield can protect a whole team. This lets you move between targets quickly, deal solid damage, and juggle enemies in the air to keep pressure on them. The build also has some burst potential and access to ranged attacks, which are useful for zoning enemies in group PvP fights.
While this setup is off-meta and not the most efficient at being a pure tank or pure DPS, it still performs well in group PvP. You can take a lot of punishment without going down too fast, making it a reliable off-tank option in situations like prison breaks or guild fights.
Martial Arts
Gear
Stats Priority
While the Gear part of the build is still under development and more information will come soon, you should use the Rainwhisper + Formbend set combo. You can use Moonflare for armor until Formbend becomes available. This part of the build is still under construction as far as specific stats go.
Inner Way
To begin with,
Evasive Charge is a strong option because it it improves your ability to dodge, refunding endurance as you perfect dodge enemies, making it much easier to stay alive and dodge around.
Exquisite Scenery is also very important, as it speeds up the
Thundercry Blade, allowing you to deal damage without needing to fully charge attacks every time.
Morale Chant remains one of the best Inner Ways in the game, boosting both damage and healing as you fight while being easy to keep stacked. To further increase your damage,
Battle Anthem adds extra flat damage, making each hit noticeably stronger. You can swap this for
Adaptive Steel for some extra damage too.
Mystic Skills
Golden Body is a powerful defensive option that gives you protection and extra Fortitude, and it can even help nearby allies when things go wrong and your team needs support.
Cloud Steps provides strong mobility for chasing enemies or repositioning, but since it can be blocked, it should be used carefully and not spammed as any decent player will punish you, especially in 1VS1.
Your most important PvP skill is still
Serene Breeze. It instantly breaks CC, lets you escape combos, reset fights, or create space to heal. Skipping this skill in PvP is a big mistake. For ranged pressure,
Meridian Touch is very useful, allowing you to poke safely and Execute low-HP enemies without fully committing.
Dragon's Breath adds burn damage and works well on single targets or small groups when you catch them off guard or when they focus you.
To punish players who jump on you,
Talon Strike and
Yaksha Rush are both strong choices. They knock enemies down and go through block, making them effective against both aggressive and defensive opponents.
Leaping Toad fills a similar role, while also applying poison that staggers enemies and can spread to others.
Rotations
- The rotation is easy to execute. Open with
Predator's Shield to stay protected, then channel
Sunrush Gale straight into
Galecloud Cleave. Finish the sequence by using
Avalanche to add more damage.
- Start by jumping onto the target with
Peak's Springless Silence, then follow it up into
Moon Shatter Spring to extend the combo. Once the enemy hits the ground, follow up with
Soaring Spin for damage. From there, you can cancel the second hit using Deflect, apply
Dragon's Breath to set up the burn, and finish with
Drunken Poet to break through normal attacks and deal heavy damage.
