Battleweaver - Crossbow + Staff Large Scale PvP Build
- Good AoE Burst Damage & DPS
- Low Cooldowns
- High Skill Ceiling
- Squishy
- Off-meta
- Low Mobility
Overview
This Battleweaver build aims to deal high AOE damage throughout PvP encounters, capable of pumping out damage while having very low cooldowns. While the combination isn't part of the current meta, it remains one of the strongest DPS classes if damage is the main goal. It is a great build for guild vs guild PvP, especially if you can rely on your team to peel for you as mobility is somewhat lacking in this build. The goal with this build is to blow up enemies quickly and weaving back and forth looking for good opportunities to hit the enemy zerg.
Attributes
To boost your damage, put most of your points into Dexterity and Perception first, as these improve your hit rate and critical hit chance but also improve your overall base damage. Since both Crossbows and Staff are focused on dealing damage, you don’t need to invest in Wisdom. However, adding some points to Strength can still give you a nice damage boost and a bit more HP, which can be useful overall, aiming to hit at least 30 points however you can.
Skills
Even though the leveling part isn't very challenging, make sure to upgrade Quick Fire and Serial Fire Bombs to increase your damage and make leveling easier, focus on these abilities, as they play a key role in boosting your damage from the start of your journey in Throne and Liberty all the way through to endgame PvP content. In PvP, most of your burst damage is also dealt by Serial Fire Bombs, Judgment Lightning and Chain Lightning deal great damage and are an important part of this Battleweaver build.
Inner Peace is the main way of regaining mana and can even be used before your rotation in order to lower the mana cost but you shouldn't upgrade it too early, focus on upgrading the other, offensive skills.
As far as passives go, Piercing Strike, Flame Condensation and Forbidden Sanctuary greatly improve your DPS, so make sure to upgrade them as early as possible. Eagle Vision increases your damage depending on your distance to the target, which makes it an important upgrade too. Mana Amp on the other hand offers you extra HP, being a very valuable passive for PVP while also adding extra mana.
Equipment
These are the first items you should strive for through the leveling period as they are very easy to get and upgrade or trait as needed. However, you shouldn't try to trait these items too much as you won't be spending too much time playing with this setup before you start changing pieces into the Midgame. The green accessories however are very easy to trait as you can craft many of them quickly in order to get the correct traits so you should consider traiting them until you change into purples. The same goes for the blue ring as you keep it for a long time.
This is the gear you should transition to once you're leveled to 50 and start grinding gear. It is comprised of gear you can get either from dungeons or by completing Litographs, they are relatively easy to trait up and you will spend most of the time wearing this set before advancing into the late game so traiting these items is very important and should be your main focus.
This is the current endgame gear you should aim for, and while it isn't easy to acquire, it offers great power without the need of acquiring archboss gear pieces. However, items like Tevent's Fangs of Fury or other archboss weapons are superior but difficult to acquire for the majority of players. If you do manage to get the archboss weapons for your build, feel free to use them over the weapons shown here.

Crossbow: Put 9 points into Chain Fire to boost your attack speed and ranged damage. Then, invest 9 points into Move to improve heavy attack chance, ranged accuracy, and movement speed. Use the last 1 point in Regen for some recovery.
Staff: Maximize your damage by putting 9 points into Destroy for extra skill damage and faster cooldowns. Add 6 points into Attribute to increase burning damage, burning chance, and extra damage. Finally, use 1 point in Mana for mana regeneration.
Rotations
- Make sure Mother Nature's Protest is active before buffing with High Focus. You then cancel out of the animation with Rupturing Parry.
- Use Serial Fire Bombs (fully charged) on a target in the middle of a group so the burn stacks spread through the enemies. Buff up with Selfless Diffusion in order to constantly recharge your cooldowns as you deal damage before using Judgment Lightning to burst enemies nearby.
- Chain Lightning and Inferno Wave should be weaved through the rotation as they come off cooldown to deal high AOE damage while while Mother Nature's Protest procs damage thanks to Chain Lightning pools on the ground.
