Eradicator - Staff + Spear Small Scale PvP Build
- High Burst Damage
- Good Range DPS
- Versatile
- Gear Dependant
- Squishy
- Off-meta
Overview
The Staff and Spear PvE build excels in delivering quick bursts of close-range damage, with abilities like Abyssal Cleave & Tempest Strike serving as excellent setup tools before executing your full DPS rotation on crowd-controlled targets.
This build is also effective at range, capable of dealing significant damage to opponents who don't engage you directly. This versatility allows it to perform exceptionally well in Dominion Events, Small-Scale Guild PvP, and Nighttime PvP, standing strong against other popular builds like Greatsword Dagger.
Attributes
For this Spear Staff build, focus on Perception and Dexterity to maximize your damage output. These are your key stats early on, as they enhance critical hit rate, accuracy, and overall damage. Keep focusing on them as you upgrade your gear to maintain strong performance.
Next, consider Strength and Wisdom as secondary stats. Strength boosts your max HP, which is helpful for tougher PvE encounters, while Wisdom supports mana regeneration. It’s often recommended to allocate 50 points into Strength—not only for survivability but also to increase your heavy attack chance, a valuable and typically expensive stat to acquire.
Skills
With this build utilizing Spear skills for its melee component, prioritize upgrading these first when using skill books. Key CC skills to upgrade early are Abyssal Cleave and Tempest Strike, as their upgraded versions significantly increase CC durations, giving you a strong advantage in controlling fights.
Other essential skills like Cyclonic Fury, Culling Arc and Rising Slash serve as your primary melee DPS abilities. These offer exceptional damage in melee combat, whether you're peeling for yourself or bursting down opponents in close range.
Passives play a crucial role in enhancing your performance. Upgrade Retaliatory Strike and Death Knell first, as they provide critical damage boosts. Mortal Wrath is another must-have, adding bonus damage to low-health targets, helping secure kills efficiently.
For the Staff, prioritize impactful passives. Forbidden Sanctuary boosts skill damage, which is otherwise costly to enhance via gear. Flame Condensation increases heavy attack rate against burning targets, making your overall damage more potent. Echoic Barrier offers invaluable protection against silence effects like Shadow Strike, ensuring uninterrupted casting and often preventing critical shutdowns.
Among Staff active skills, Judgment Lightning and Serial Fire Bombs deliver reliable damage, with Serial Fire Bombs also reducing enemy healing—a valuable utility for PvP. Chain Lightning synergizes effectively with burn stacks on enemies, amplifying its damage and making it a strong addition to your rotation.
Equipment
These are the first items you should strive for through the leveling period as they are very easy to get and upgrade or trait as needed. However, you shouldn't try to trait these items too much as you won't be spending too much time playing with this setup before you start changing pieces into the Midgame. The green accessories however are very easy to trait as you can craft many of them quickly in order to get the correct traits so you should consider traiting them until you change into purples. The same goes for the blue ring as you keep it for a long time.
This is the gear you should transition to once you're leveled to 50 and start grinding gear. It is comprised of gear you can get either from dungeons or by completing Litographs, they are relatively easy to trait up and you will spend most of the time wearing this set before advancing into the late game so traiting these items is very important and should be your main focus.
This is the current endgame gear you should aim for, and while it isn't easy to acquire, it offers great power without the need of acquiring archboss gear pieces. However, items like Tevent's Fangs of Fury or other archboss weapons are superior but difficult to acquire for the majority of players. If you do manage to get the archboss weapons for your build, feel free to use them over the weapons shown here.

Staff: To maximize your damage output, invest 9 points into Destroy and Attribute to boost overall damage while the remaining 1 point can go into Mana for a bit of extra defense.
Spear: The 9 points should go into Face Off while 9 more go into Destroy for similar effects and another chance of increasing overall damage of the build. The remaining 1 point goes into Charge!
Rotations
- Use this rotation to deal heavy damage and also anti-heal the players you hit with Serial Fire Bombs and also deal very high burst damage capable of blowing up targets with ease.
- Start the rotation with High Focus & Unyielding Sentinel to boost hit rate and heavy attack chance before using Serial Fire Bombs to hit your target at full charge for extra damage before you continue the rotation with Chain Lightning and Judgment Lightning quickly after that to finish off the targeted player.
- This Melee rotation is intended for dealing with single targets you catch or to burst down enemies that are harassing you. Catch an enemy with Gale Rush and stick to them before you can manage a proper moment to use Abyssal Cleave and make sure to jump so it applies Prone.
- Applying Prone is important as it cannot be cleared it off with the Purification Stone and you can follow up with Cyclonic Fury and Culling Arc to deal damage but also further debuff the target so you can setup Rising Slash to blow them up.
Icebound Tomb: Use this to control enemies and break up enemy rotations by freezing them as they do it. However, keep in mind that you can also use this on yourself to freeze yourself and avoid damage entirely!
