- High Skill Ceiling
Overview
This Gladiator Spear + Greatsword PvP build is one of the best choices for those looking to play in small scale PVP scenarios like Arenas, Dominion Events or Night Time PVP in dungeons or Saurodoma Island. This build is fantastic for new players, with an easy to understand kit that also excels in 1vs1 fights with a heavy focus on CC skills, capable of bursting down targets with ease.
Attributes
As a Gladiator, focus on investing in Strength and Dexterity. These stats increase your damage, improve heavy attack chances, and enhance skill damage through the Vital Force passive. Aim for 50 points in Strength to gain extra heavy attack chance and the bonus health. Dexterity should be your next focus to boost critical hits, with any leftover points allocated to Perception to improve your hit rate. Fortitude is also a good option for added endurance and overall damage, but it can be hard to get as very few gear pieces in game offer fortitude as a stat, and they rarely fit into gear choices.
Skills
Focus on upgrading the main Greatsword skills like Death Blow and Ascending Slash alongside Stunning Blow. Follow up by upgrading Guillotine Blade, the best choice for upgrading an Omnipotence skill and a great way to spend your Omnipotence skill books, greatly increasing Guillotine Blade damage.
Once you've upgraded Greatsword skills, start focusing on the Spear, starting with Vicious Fury and Javelin Surge, which work together as a powerful combo for high AOE damage. This combo also lets you fight well at medium range, using spear throws as ranged attacks to secure kills or put pressure on targets caught in your Precision Dash bind. Follow up with Culling Arc and Rising Slash, utilizing Rising Slash to trigger Ignite debuffs and deal extra damage.
For passives, Robust Constitution and Vital Force are essential, as they boost your damage based on your Max HP. Cold Warrior is another critical passive, increasing heavy attack chances when enemies are stunned or affected by the Shocked debuff, while also boosting your critical chance, which complements the Spear's reliance on crits. Mortal Wrath is a great pick for the damage increase and the fact it allows you to finish off targets much easier.
Raging Frenzy is another must-have since you'll often be near three or more enemies, especially when using Death From Above. Lastly, Victor's Morale is invaluable for regenerating mana, which is crucial for this mana-intensive build, especially during prolonged fights.
Equipment
These are the first items you should strive for through the leveling period as they are very easy to get and upgrade or trait as needed. However, you shouldn't try to trait these items too much as you won't be spending too much time playing with this setup before you start changing pieces into the Midgame. The green accessories however are very easy to trait as you can craft many of them quickly in order to get the correct traits so you should consider traiting them until you change into purples. The same goes for the blue ring as you keep it for a long time.
This is the gear you should transition to once you're leveled to 50 and start grinding gear. It is comprised of gear you can get either from dungeons or by completing Litographs, they are relatively easy to trait up and you will spend most of the time wearing this set before advancing into the late game so traiting these items is very important and should be your main focus.
This is the current endgame gear you should aim for, and while it isn't easy to acquire, it offers great power without the need of acquiring archboss gear pieces. However, items like Tevent's Fangs of Fury or other archboss weapons are superior but difficult to acquire for the majority of players. If you do manage to get the archboss weapons for your build, feel free to use them over the weapons shown here.

Finally, use the last point in Charge to add a bit of extra defense, providing some durability to your build.
Rotations
- This is best used in 1v1 fights as it doeas quick damage before you can move out. Start with Unyielding Sentinel to buff yourself , increasing heavy attack chance. Then, use Precision Dash to boost heavy attack chance further before using Stunning Blow to stun the target. Follow up with Ascending Slash to prone the player before using Guillotine Blade to deal extra damage.
- Transition into the Spear part of the rotation with Cyclonic Fury which applies Ignite stacks before you pop them using Rising Slash.
- Prebuff with Unyielding Sentinel before you channel Precision Dash to bind the target before using Ascending Slash to force the enemy player into Prone, exposing them so you can use Guillotine Blade before following up with Death Blow. If the target is still alive then, use Culling Arc to finish them off.
- Use this rotation to quickly burst enemies down. Begin by binding the enemy player with Precision Dash before using Abyssal Cleave to Prone them (jump when using the skill to do so). Follow up with Guillotine Blade for extra damage to Prone targets before finishing off the rotation with Cyclonic Fury and Rising Slash.
