Ranger - Greatsword + Longbow Small Scale PvP Build
- High Burst Damage
- High Single Target DPS
- Self-healing
- High Skill Ceiling
Overview
This Longbow and Greatsword build for small-scale PvP revolves around delivering rapid bursts of damage, making it highly effective in both duels and single-target assassinations during PvP encounters while also being capable of self-healing through the use of Healing Touch. The Longbow is a fantasic weapon to compliment the Greatsword damage potential. This build focuses on close-quarters combat rather than fighting from range and kiting, as commonly seen in builds utilizing the Longbow. Here, you'll leverage the Greatsword's high burst damage while using skills like Blitz to remain versatile.
Attributes
Focus on Strength and Dexterity as your main stats to push first. They will boost your damage and increase the chance of heavy attacks, as well as improving skill damage through Vital Force. Strength also gives you more health, which is important for survival in PVP. As you upgrade your gear, target 60 points in Strength to get the extra HP and heavy attack boost. Dexterity will improve your critical hits, and any remaining points should be put into Perception while ignoring Wisdom.
Skills
If your build relies heavily on Greatsword skills, you should prioritize upgrading them. Skills like Death Blow, Gaia Crash, and Devastating Smash are key. Don't forget about the passives either, as they significantly boost your damage. The combo of Robust Constitution and Vital Force works especially well together, adding extra damage and health. Cold Warrior is also essential, as it increases your critical hit rate and Heavy Attack Chance, which are crucial for this build.
While your Longbow aren't as important to upgrade and remain secondary, both Ensnaring Arrow and Strafing remain useful for filler damage and as a secondary root. Meanwhile, Blitz is an incredibly versatile skill that can reset your other abilities. The most useful skill however is the Healing Touch as it allows you to heal between fights or even during a fight and outlasting your enemies.
Do not forget the Longbow passives either as Devoted Shield is a fantastic defensive passive while Earth's Blessing considerably boosts your healing.
Equipment
These are the first items you should strive for through the leveling period as they are very easy to get and upgrade or trait as needed. However, you shouldn't try to trait these items too much as you won't be spending too much time playing with this setup before you start changing pieces into the Midgame. The green accessories however are very easy to trait as you can craft many of them quickly in order to get the correct traits so you should consider traiting them until you change into purples. The same goes for the blue ring as you keep it for a long time.
This is the gear you should transition to once you're leveled to 50 and start grinding gear. It is comprised of gear you can get either from dungeons or by completing Litographs, they are relatively easy to trait up and you will spend most of the time wearing this set before advancing into the late game so traiting these items is very important and should be your main focus.
This is the current endgame gear you should aim for, and while it isn't easy to acquire, it offers great power without the need of acquiring archboss gear pieces. However, items like Tevent's Fangs of Fury or other archboss weapons are superior but difficult to acquire for the majority of players. If you do manage to get the archboss weapons for your build, feel free to use them over the weapons shown here.

Longbow: Allocate 9 points into Sniping to increase your damage and critical damage. Then, invest 9 points into Support to boost resistance and gain additional Perception, which improves skill damage resistance and provides an advantage against other players. The last point should go into Check for extra support benefits.
Greatsword: Focus on maximizing damage output by spending 9 points in Face Off for increased damage and heavy attack chance. Next, allocate 9 points to Incapacitate to enhance damage, cooldown speed, and crowd control potential. The remaining point goes into Charge for a small defensive boost.
Rotations
- Begin the rotation with Precision Dash used two times to bind your target. If your bind succeeds, use Ascending Slash to trip (Prone) your target before using Strafing for some extra damage. Follow up with Gaia Crash and another cast of Strafing. Continue with Stunning Blow and Death Blow before finishing them off with Strafing.
- This is a backup, shorter combo for when your main abilities are on cooldown or have been used to chase enemies. Start by using Ensnaring Arrow to bind your target. Follow up with Ascending Slash to knock them down after they're bound.
- Next, use Guillotine Blade for heavy burst damage, stun them again with Devastating Smash. Finish them off with Death Blow and Strafing.
Blitz: Use this skill to reset the cooldown of important skills like Guillotine Blade or Devastating Smash. Because of how versatile the skill is, this skill is highly situational. You can easily stun-lock someone using Stunning Blow then following up with another Stunning Blow once you've used Blitz to reset the skill. Be creative!
High Locus: Use this ability to consistently to increase your hit rate and evasion rate. It allows you to bypass a lot of enemy defenses as most Dagger players build high evasion.
Healing Touch: Aim to always have at least one stack of Healing Touch active on yourself at all times in order to constantly heal and prevent damage throughout a PVP session. Stacking the skill 3 times during a fight is ideal!
DaVinci's Courage: Use this skill as often as possible to boost your max health and improve your overall damage thanks to your passives.
Useful Information
- Select Lady Knight Kamarshea as your guardian; it provides essential protection with its shield, capable of absorbing damage equal to 50% of your mana. This not only aids in mitigating damage but also increases your cooldown speed in order to let you heal more often.
