Overview
Greatsword and Dagger build for large-scale PvP. It does a great job at CCing enemy groups and dealing quick damage while being part of the flank team of any zerg. It can deal a lot of damage quickly and has short cooldowns, making it easy to switch between targets while playing on the sides of the fights.
Attributes

In this build, focus on investing points into Strength and Dexterity as they are the main stats that will increase your damage and also increase heavy attack chance and skill damage thanks to Vital Force. The health increase from high strength stat is particularly important in PVP as it offers great survivability. However, as you progress and your gear improves over time, you will want to aim for 60 points into strength to make use of the extra HP and heavy attack chance. Dexterity should be your secondary focus to improve your critical hit while the rest of your points should go into perception.
Skills

The Greatsword & Dagger build is a great choice for those looking for a challenge in large scale PVP. The build does well in flank squads and assassin groups, capable of stunning an entire backline while also offering great utility by catching enemies out of position.
Your main damage skills are Death Blow and
Guillotine Blade along with
Gaia Crash. However,
Devastating Smash and
Cleaving Moonlight shouldn't be forgotten either as they provide extra mobility as well as an important stun. Level them to purple as soon as possible!
Brutal Incision is also a very good skill to level as you can use it to execute targets below 50% HP.
Precision Dash is one of your important mobility skills. It allows you to bind multiple players by crossing through them as you use the first cast of your
Precision Dash. The secondary CC skill is your
Ascending Slash and shouldn't be forgotten as they combine perfectly into each other.
For passives, prioritize upgrading Robust Constitution to boost your health and health regeneration. Pair it with
Vital Force, which synergizes well with Robust Constitution and significantly enhances your damage output. Additionally,
Assassin's Instincts for increasing your critical hit rate. On the defensive side,
Shadow Walker is highly versatile, as it can be triggered at any time by simply using
Block Blade. Keep in mind that you don't even need to roll, just pressing block suffices. This passive also activates whenever you use
Shadow Strike, aiding in damage sustain during your CC rotation.
Equipment

These are the first items you should strive for through the leveling period as they are very easy to get and upgrade or trait as needed. However, you shouldn't try to trait these items too much as you won't be spending too much time playing with this setup before you start changing pieces into the Midgame. The green accessories however are very easy to trait as you can craft many of them quickly in order to get the correct traits so you should consider traiting them until you change into purples. The same goes for the blue ring as you keep it for a long time.

This is the gear you should transition to once you're leveled to 50 and start grinding gear. It is comprised of gear you can get either from dungeons or by completing Litographs, they are relatively easy to trait up and you will spend most of the time wearing this set before advancing into the late game so traiting these items is very important and should be your main focus.

This is the current endgame gear you should aim for, and while it isn't easy to acquire, it offers great power without the need of acquiring archboss gear pieces. However, items like Tevent's Fangs of Fury or other archboss weapons are superior but difficult to acquire for the majority of players. If you do manage to get the archboss weapons for your build, feel free to use them over the weapons shown here.

Rotations

- This rotation serves as your main group CC and should normally be used to CC a group of enemies before the rest of a zerg can react. While you can start from within
Camouflage Cloak, the skill is better used for escaping and resetting the fight.
- Look for a target before using
Shadow Strike to bind and silence your target that is grouped up on top of other enemies. Follow up with
Devastating Smash that will stun all nearby enemies before you use
Gaia Crash to deal high AOE damage. Use
Shadow Strike again to teleport back to your initial position and out of harm's way.

- This rotation serves as your primary kill rotation and it begins with
Shadow Strike to bind and silence your target. If your bind succeeds, use
Ascending Slash to trip (Prone) your target and then use
Gaia Crash to deal quick damage while they are on the ground. Continue with
Stunning Blow and
Death Blow before finishing them off with
Cleaving Moonlight.
Precision Dash: This is the skill you should use if you have the chance to go through multiple enemies with the first cast. Look for Sword & Shield players pulling enemies into a clump before using this skill to help by binding them. While it doesn't give you the ability to return where you were before using it like
Shadow Strike, it greatly increases your heavy attack chance so it can be used as a general use skill to close gaps on enemies.
Phantom Smokescreen: Use this skill to protect yourself and your group from
Merciless Barrage or other ranged attacks. Keep in mind that some skills still go through this but you can still use
Phantom Smokescreen to bait enemies into pushing closer and catching them with
Shadow Strike.
Camouflage Cloak: This is your get-out-of-jail-free card. Use it when you are getting focused or have to reposition. It can also help reset a fight and cooldowns after taking down a target. There are numerous other ways to use stealth, so feel free to be inventive!
Block Blade: This is the key ability that distinguishes between skilled Greatsword and Dagger users and less skilled ones. You can employ this ability to increase your damage and evasion, helping a lot with your survival. This skill also increases your damage if you are using the
Lequirus's Wicked Thorns.
DaVinci's Courage: Use this between fights to regain health and boost your health regen and attack speed. Don't forget that this also affects your party and can be used along with others for quick heals between engages.
Useful Information
- Select Lady Knight Kamarshea as your guardian; it provides essential protection with its shield, which absorbs damage equal to 50% of your mana. While the shield is active, you also gain a 40% Cooldown Speed boost. Although the shield is valuable, ensure to maintain it for as long as possible to maximize the duration of the increased cooldown speed. Remember, the guardian will be lost if the shield is depleted, so be mindful of that!
