Cavalier - Spear + Crossbow PvE Build
- High AoE Damage
- High Single Target DPS
- Easy to Play
- Gear Dependant
- Mana Intensive
Overview
This Cavalier Spear + Crossbow PvE build is one of the top choices for PVE content like Dimensional Trials or regular 1-2 Star dungeons as it does incredible DPS while remaining easy to play and also boasting high AOE damage making it easy to clear through higher tier trial dungeon runs. It is more than capable of clearing out open world mobs too, breezing through contracts or while farming out Abyssal Contract Tokens in places like Saurodoma Island, etc.
Attributes
Focus most of your points on Dexterity and Perception to improve your hit chance, critical hit chance, and overall damage. Since Crossbows and Spears are all about dealing damage, you can skip Wisdom. Adding a few points to Strength is still helpful for extra damage and a bit more HP, aiming to reach at least 30 points in total however you prefer during the early game as it adds extra survivability and can help with surviving certain boss mechanics.
Skills
Begin by upgrading the core crossbow skills first: Quick Fire, Mortal Mark and Nimble Leap along with Merciless Barrage as they are fantastic to pair with eachother, boosting your damage rotation by a good deal. Mother Nature's Protest is also important to level up as it increases the damage done with the extra projectile coming out of the spell.
Continue by upgrading your Spear skills next, beginning with Vicious Fury and Javelin Surge as they are used together in a combo to deal high AOE damage to all mobs for whenever your Merciless Barrage is on cooldown. Continue with Cyclonic Fury as its great for applying debuffs.
Lastly don't forget to upgrade support skills like Unyielding Sentinel and Selfless Diffusion
As far as passives go, Ambidexterity and Imposing Form are good passives to upgrade as they increase your overall damage alongside the raw damage increase of Piercing Strike. Death Knell is great for constantly increasing your attack speed as mobs die with Weaken active on them.
Equipment
These are the first items you should strive for through the leveling period as they are very easy to get and upgrade or trait as needed. However, you shouldn't try to trait these items too much as you won't be spending too much time playing with this setup before you start changing pieces into the Midgame. The green accessories however are very easy to trait as you can craft many of them quickly in order to get the correct traits so you should consider traiting them until you change into purples. The same goes for the blue ring as you keep it for a long time.
This is the gear you should transition to once you're leveled to 50 and start grinding gear. It is comprised of gear you can get either from dungeons or by completing Litographs, they are relatively easy to trait up and you will spend most of the time wearing this set before advancing into the late game so traiting these items is very important and should be your main focus.
This is the current endgame gear you should aim for, and while it isn't easy to acquire, it offers great power without the need of acquiring archboss gear pieces. However, items like Tevent's Fangs of Fury or other archboss weapons are superior but difficult to acquire for the majority of players. If you do manage to get the archboss weapons for your build, feel free to use them over the weapons shown here.

Crossbow: Invest first 9 points into Chain Fire to boost overall ranged damage and cooldown speed. Next 9 points should go into Move for extra damage and a bit of movement speed while the last 1 point goes into Regen for extra Health regen.
Spear: Allocate 9 points into Face Off, followed by 9 points in Destroy to amplify your damage and cooldown speed, enhancing the overall damage of the Impaler. Use the last point in Charge for more defense.
Rotations
- Start off the rotation by buffing yourself with Unyielding Sentinel. Meanwhile Mother Nature's Protest should also be active at all times during boss fights.
- Start the damaging part of the rotation with Mortal Mark so the follow up damage is improved. Use Quick Fire before resetting its cooldown with Nimble Leap just to use it again. Buff yourself with Selfless Diffusion before using Cyclonic Fury up close to both do damage and apply Ignite stacks.
- Follow up with Vicious Fury to build up Ember stacks on yourself before using Javelin Surge to spend them and deal incredibly high DPS.
- Use this rotation to kill mobs with low max HP. Beginning with Mortal Mark before using Quick Fire to deal damage before resetting its cooldown with Nimble Leap and just repeating the combo after that.
- Buff yourself with Unyielding Sentinel and Mother Nature's Protest before using Selfless Diffusion. Start damaging with Merciless Barrage after mobs were stacked together, applying Gale and dealing heavy damage before you use Cyclonic Fury to deal AOE damage and apply Ignite on mobs.
- Follow up with Vicious Fury and Javelin Surge to finish off whatever mobs are still alive.
