Crusader - Greatsword + Sword PvP Build
- High AOE damage
- Best Large Scale Melee DPS
- Tanky
- High Skill Ceiling
- Squishy
Overview
This build is designed for group PVP in small and large scale content such as riftstones, sieges, etc. It excels at doing high AOE damage as a frontline melee player while having some protection with the use of SnS. The build boasts good movement as well and it's capable of moving between groups of stacked enemies with ease but also retreat when needed.
Attributes
- Prioritize Dexterity as your primary attribute until it reaches 30. Afterward, allocate points into Perception until it also hits 30, and distribute the remainder into Strength to bolster your HP. Investing in Wisdom isn't worth it as it brings little damage and some mana regen. Beyond 30 points in Dexterity and Perception, you should put the rest of your points into strength because of Vital Force giving you extra damage for extra HP.
Skills
Skill Priority
Because of your combo, you have to start upgrading all skills that are part of your damage dealing combos as a priority. Meanwhile, skills like DaVinci's Courage and Camouflage Cloak can be left to be upgraded later as the skills can be neglected to some degree in order to increase your main damage combos first.
Passives Priority
Because the build doesn't use that many low level passives and we make use of the higher level ones, you don't need that many books for the passives so you have some wiggle room. You should still focus on Vital Force and Robust Constitution as the two passives have great synergy.

Greatsword: You will take 9 points into Incapacitate in order to gain the extra stun duration and also improve your stun chance. After maxing out Incapatiate you put the rest of the points in Face Off in order to get some extra damage.
Dagger: Assassination is the only choice for Dagger as it gives you a lot of extra damage and the 4 remaining points can go into Poison for some weaken chance and a bit of extra damage.
Rotations
- This rotation is your main kill rotation, you can open up from inside Camouflage Cloak but I recommend you use it for getting out and resetting the fight instead. The rotation itself is simple, with Inject Venom and DaVinci's Courage acting as your pre-buffs then going straight in with Shadow Strike and then instantly follow up with Stunning Blow so you can do release your damage on the target.
- This rotation is what you go for if you need to deliver high damage quickly or your main skills are on cooldown. This is a shorter easier combo to pull off but it still delivers high damage due to Guillotine Blade. Because of Stunning Blow cast time, you need to make sure that your target is stunned with Stunning Blow.
Camouflage Cloak: This is your get-out-of-jail-free card. Use it when you are getting focused or have to reposition. Can also be used to reset a fight and cooldowns after bursting a target. There are many other use cases for stealth so be creative!
Ambush Stance: This is the main ability that makes the difference between a good Greatsword x Dagger user and a bad one. You can use this ability to pop yourself into stealth to avoid damage. In the same time, you should look to use the ability for the damage increase you get with the first skill used out of stealth.
Useful Information
- Use Lady Knight Kamarshea as your guardian, it gives you much needed protection with it's shield that takes damage equal to 50% of your mana. While the shield is up, you also gain 40% Cooldown Speed. Even though the shield is useful, you want to make sure that you keep it up as long as possible in order to maximize the time you have extra cooldown speed. The guardian will also be lost if the shield is removed, so keep that in mind!
- For gear you want to get the Reaper Set as its currently Best in Slot armor set for DPS but it also gives you a lot of dexterity and perception. Tevent's Despair Blade is the greatsword you want as it creates an AOE explosion on targets you stun, adding a lot of damage every time you use Stunning Blow. Morokai's Corrupt Sword and Magnaduke's Berserk Blade are also decent choices but your goal should remain Tevent's Despair Blade. Lequirus's Thorny Edge is relatively easy to get and gives you extra damage after using Shadow Strike, with Kowazan's Twilight Blade being a decent option for the extra damage during night. Rex Chimaerus's Fang would be a good choice as well as it gives you 8 dexterity which is quite a lot of extra damage.
