Templar - Wand + Sword PvE Build
- High Defense
- Only real tank in the game
- Can Heal itself
- Terrible Damage
Overview
This Sword and Wand PvE build is specifically designed for tanking in PvE group dungeons. It excels at staying alive while effectively holding the aggro of both mobs and bosses. The use of Wand allows this build to heal itself and allies making certain dungeons like Cave of Destruction do-able without a healer.
Attributes
Your priority with this build should be strength, as it grants you high max HP and improves your defensive stats, providing ranged, magic, and melee defense, as well as health regen. Your secondary stat is dexterity, as it grants you ranged, magic, and melee evasion, further enhancing your defensive capabilities. The remaining points can be allocated to wisdom for some extra maximum mana and mana regen, which should help in maintaining mana when using your wand abilities.
Skills
Skill Priority
Since we utilize numerous high-level abilities, there aren't many active abilities you need to prioritize for upgrading. However, Counter Barrier and Shield Strike are the most important ones. Counter Barrier greatly improves your Shield Block Chance, while Shield Strike serves as your primary single-target aggro-holding ability. It ensures that mobs stay focused on attacking you rather than targeting the rest of your party.
Passives Priority
Similar to the active skills, we rely on many high-level passives which keeps the cost for the build quite low. You should prioritize Skillful Evasion as it decreases the damage you take from targets you provoke and because of your use of Shield Strike and Provoking Roar, most enemies you fight will be provoked. These skills offer excellent sustain by providing mana and health regeneration when dealing damage with your skills or when you are evading attacks.

Greatsword:
Investing 9 points in Charge offers you the most defensive bonuses you could get from the Greatsword lines while the last 3 points can be spent on Face Off in order to gain a bit of extra damage.
Sword: Investing 9 points in the Boss row is a straightforward decision as it provides you with extra PVE defenses tailored for fighting bosses, along with some additional health. The remaining 3 points will be allocated to Provoke & Counter for further defense.
Rotations
- You want to buff up with File:DaVinci's Courage first.webpDaVinci's Courage first, granting yourself and the other party members some extra HP to work with while Counter Barrier remains your main defensive skill that you should try to keep up at all times. Precision Dash is your opener as it increases the damage you do and therefor the threat you generate while Shield Strike should be used on cooldown alongside Valiant Brawl as provokes the target and keeps the target attacking you. Willbreaker is your main debuff that you should use to lower target's defenses for your party while Ascending Slash and A Shot at Victory are your damage fillers while you wait for your Shield Strike cooldown.
Stalwart Bastion: This ability functions as your panic button when you're taking excessive damage and your passive skills aren't enough to sustain you. It's also the ability you use when the boss casts a high-damage spell, and it's recommended that your party members gather close to benefit from its protective effect.
Provoking Roar: Your sole AOE taunt ability, you should reserve this for drawing the attention of multiple smaller enemies, typically appearing as ads during boss encounters or as trash mobs before reaching bosses.
Immortal Pride: Another ability that can serve as a panic button or boost your health to survive boss damage that would otherwise be fatal.
Blood Devotion: This spell enables you to redirect damage intended for another party member toward yourself, while also reducing the overall damage you take. It's particularly useful for protecting your allies in critical situations.
