Overview

While this is an off-meta build, this Greatsword and Wand PvE build is perfect for both new and veteran players looking for a different approach to Throne and Liberty. It can be the best missing piece for a dungeon group that aims for high DPS and opts to play the dungeon without a healer as this build can offer the small amounts of healing your group might require.

Dexterity Dexterity
SECONDARY

Wisdom Wisdom
With the unique stats and attributes system in Throne and Liberty, it can be difficult to determine exactly where to invest your attribute points at each stage of the game. This is because gear pieces provide attributes just like leveling up does, meaning everyone will have a different number of attribute points depending on what gear they are wearing at the time.
Given this variation, it's best to reset your attributes regularly to adjust to the new gear you acquire. Aim to reach the achievement effects, which provide extra benefits at milestones like 30, 50, and 70 points.

For this build, prioritize Strength and Dexterity as your main attributes. Strength boosts your damage, increases heavy attack chances (and enhances healing), and provides more HP. Additionally, Vital ForceActive frame.webpVital Force improves both skill damage and healing based on your Strength. Aim for 60 points in Strength to gain extra health and further enhance your heavy attack chances and survivability. Dexterity is crucial for increasing your critical hit rate, improving your overall damage output. Finally, invest remaining points into Perception to boost your hit rate, while Wisdom isn't as valuable for this build.

The main skills you should be upgrading as early as possible are: Valiant BrawlUsed frame.webpValiant Brawl, Death BlowUsed frame.webpDeath Blow and Guillotine BladeUsed frame.webpGuillotine Blade. They are your bread and butter skills and pair perfectly with Stunning BlowUsed frame.webpStunning Blow and Ascending SlashUsed frame.webpAscending Slash in various combos allowing you to take out single mobs with ease. Meanwhile, WillbreakerUsed frame.webpWillbreaker can debuff entire groups of mobs, making it much easier for you and your party to take them out.

Don't neglect the support side of the build though as you can provide good healing throughout PVE encounters! Fountain of LifeUsed frame.webpFountain of Life is a great AOE heal and can top up your entire group. Swift HealingUsed frame.webpSwift Healing is a great heal to use during a boss fight, using it on yourself to keep your health up while Clay's SalvationUsed frame.webpClay's Salvation is another AOE healing option for use with your party during, especially during boss encounters or if one of you is tanking a boss.

For passives, focus on upgrading Robust ConstitutionActive frame.webpRobust Constitution for extra health and health regeneration. Vital ForceActive frame.webpVital Force synergizes well with this, giving a substantial boost to both your damage and healing. Additionally, Noble RevivalActive frame.webpNoble Revival directly enhances your healing output, while Saint's OathActive frame.webpSaint's Oath further boosts healing whenever you take damage, even amplifying Amitoi healing effects.

These are the first items you should strive for through the leveling period as they are very easy to get and upgrade or trait as needed. However, you shouldn't try to trait these items too much as you won't be spending too much time playing with this setup before you start changing pieces into the Midgame. The green accessories however are very easy to trait as you can craft many of them quickly in order to get the correct traits so you should consider traiting them until you change into purples. The same goes for the blue ring as you keep it for a long time.

This is the gear you should transition to once you're leveled to 50 and start grinding gear. It is comprised of gear you can get either from dungeons or by completing Litographs, they are relatively easy to trait up and you will spend most of the time wearing this set before advancing into the late game so traiting these items is very important and should be your main focus.

This is the current endgame gear you should aim for, and while it isn't easy to acquire, it offers great power without the need of acquiring archboss gear pieces. However, items like Tevent's Fangs of FuryTevent's Fangs of Fury or other archboss weapons are superior but difficult to acquire for the majority of players. If you do manage to get the archboss weapons for your build, feel free to use them over the weapons shown here.

Rune Information Attack runeDefense runeSupport rune
While runes can be applied to different types of gear, you should make sure that you invest into the gear pieces that you plan on using for a long time. However, if the build you are using uses the same items between Mid Game and End Game, you can invest into adding runes to them as early as you get the items.

Wand: Allocate 9 points into Weaken for extra skill boost and mana cost efficienty. Distribute the remaining 9 points into Recovert for added heavy attack chance and increased heal amount. The last point should go into the Damage tree for a big of extra base damage even though its not particularly important.

Greatsword: With your main damage coming from Greatsword combos, allocate 9 points into Face Off to increase damage and heavy attack chance. Use the remaining 9 points on Incapacitate to boost your stun chance for better crowd control and cooldown speed. The one remaining point will go into Charge for a bit of extra Ranged Defense.

If your bind succeeds, use Ascending SlashUsed frame.webpAscending Slash to trip (Prone) your target before using Death BlowUsed frame.webpDeath Blow for some extra damage. Follow up with Stunning BlowUsed frame.webpStunning Blow and Valiant BrawlUsed frame.webpValiant Brawl coupled with Guillotine BladeUsed frame.webpGuillotine Blade to finish off your target.

Invincible WallUsed frame.webpInvincible Wall: This is a great skill to use when you expect high incoming damage coming up, usually during certain boss mechanics.

WillbreakerUsed frame.webpWillbreaker: Use this skill when beginning a fight, especially when farming open world dungeons or areas where multiple mobs are stacked together. This will lower their resistances and make it much easier for you and your party to take down.

Blessed BarrierUsed frame.webpBlessed Barrier: Another support skill like Invincible WallUsed frame.webpInvincible Wall, it offers a shield that can help a lot during boss encounters!
