Heavenquaker Spear & Vernal Umbrella PvP Build
- Great CC
- Good DPS
- Good AOE Damage
- Good Range
- No Self-healing
- High Skill Floor & Ceiling
Overview
This build makes use of the AOE damage offered by
Heavenquaker Spear while the
Vernal Umbrella is fantastic for both CC using the long range
Spring Sorrow to create openings by stunning players before jumping in to deal damage. This is particularly powerful in the hands of a skilled player that is fully aware of various weapon combinations, knowing what to expect and how to play the build depending on the enemy you fight. While this build can do well in 1vs1 PVP, it does best in group PVP scenarios where you can rely on others for setup before using your high damage skills.
Martial Arts
Inner Way
Morale Chant is a great pick for boosting DPS as it is very easy to stack up to 5 stacks and increase your flat damage. Add
Blossom Barrage to further enhance your
Spring Sorrow with another charge you can use to catch enemies off guard and set yourself up for comboing them.
Wolfchaser's Art is perfect for most builds that use
Heavenquaker Spear since it adds extra damage buffs faster. Naturally, with the build using
Dual-Weapon Skill a lot,
Seasonal Edge is great for adding extra benefits to swapping weapons, gaining extra damage.
Gear
While the Gear part of the build is still under development and more information will come soon, you should use the Hawkwing + Eaglerise set combo. This part of the build is still under construction as far as specific stats go.
Mystic Skills
The most important PvP Mystic Skill is still
Serene Breeze, as it can break you out of CC (Crowd Control) and prevent you from getting locked down.
Leaping Toad is a solid defensive damage skill that also applies significant Qi damage.
Meridian Touch is great for poking from range and can be used to execute enemies once their Qi bar is depleted.
Cloud Steps is excellent for catching enemies off guard and quickly closing distance.
Dragon's Breath is strong at the end of combos or after baiting enemies into your attacks, adding a DoT (Damage over time) that helps prevent opponents from making a comeback.
Cloud Steps also provides great mobility and a reliable engage option. But keep in mind it can be blocked. To deal with defensive players, use either
Talon Strike or
Yaksha Rush to break through Blocks and overwhelm enemies who rely heavily on guarding.
Rotations
- First you want to catch an enemy off-guard with
Spring Sorrow and stun them so you can use
Spring Away without the risk of being deflected and losing all your Qi. This is your main way of building Blossom stacks too.
- Once you have enough Blossom, you can put up the
Unfading Flower, summoning your umbrella at your side before continuing with the swap to the
Heavenquaker Spear by using
Dual-Weapon Skill. You can either play defensive from here waiting for the enemy player to come in and attack you before using
Sweep All and
Sober Sorrow to deal damage and combo them... Or you can go in with
Cloud Steps before doing the same attack pattern.
