Mortal Rope Dart & Inkwell Fan PvE Build
- Good DPS
- Self-healing
- Fun to Play
- High Skill Ceiling
- Off-meta
- Tough to do well
Overview
With this build using
Mortal Rope Dart's good damage through both Light Attacks and the extra attacks done by the rat pet you can summon, the build does great in all content while the
Inkwell Fan adds another layer of fun into the build allowing you to do even do air juggles while also controlling range of a fight, capable of dealing damage equally well from up close and range. While this build is considered off-meta and not a top choice, it is still very fitting for solo play in exploration or boss fights.
Martial Arts
Gear
While the Gear part of the build is still under development and more information will come soon, you should use the Hawkwing + Eaglerise set combo. This part of the build is still under construction as far as specific stats go.
Inner Way
Flying Gourds gives extra charges to your
Peak's Springless Silence giving you more options to airjuggle as it knocks enemies into the air while also providing decent mobility.
Morale Chant is one of the strongest PvE Inner Ways in Where Winds Meet and a core pick for most builds including this one, while it is a bit expensive to get early on, it is definitely a worthy investment.
Insightful Strike provides additional Affinity Damage while also reducing incoming damage, making it a great option. You can also opt for
Breaking Point as another option.
With
Vendetta, your
Bladebound Thread applies a longer-lasting Vendetta Token, allowing your rat to deal increased damage for a longer duration.
Mystic Skills
Dragon's Breath is one of the core skills in the game, offering strong and easy-to-maintain DoT damage that you can refresh often. After applying the burn, use Deflect to cancel the animation so you can get back to attacking right away. You can mix this with the solid flat damage from
Leaping Toad and its poison, which works especially well on bosses since it adds extra pressure while you’re free to use your weapon skills.
Ghost Bind is a great choice for AoE crowd-control, grouping enemies together so you can follow up with stronger skills.
Soaring Spin does great damage and can be used on cooldown to boost your overall DPS.
Cloud Steps gives you the height needed to use
Guardian Palm for a big AoE slam attack, but it’s also useful for mobility and works especially well against mounted enemies.
Wolflike Frenzy knocks targets down on the first hit and lifts them slightly, letting you easily combo into
Free Morph for an air-juggle follow-up.
Rotations
- Begin with
Dragon's Breath, then use
Rodent Rampage to buff yourself and summon your rat. After that, use
Bladebound Thread and follow up with Light Attacks until either the rat disappears or your
Dragon's Breath runs out. Once the burn expires, reapply it and then move into the
Nameless Sword rotation.
- Begin the rotation with
Peak's Springless Silence to pop the enemy into the air before following up with
Moon Shatter Spring to follow the target upwards. Once back on the ground, follow the enemy either with
Soaring Spin if you have low Vitality OR use
Wolflike Frenzy alongside
Free Morph.
