Mortal Rope Dart & Vernal Umbrella PvE Build
- Good DPS
- Great Range
- Easy to Play
- Good Range Control
- High Skill Ceiling
- Can be clunky
Overview
This combination of range and close combat is great for those looking to spice up the build they are playing, combining both the
Mortal Rope Dart and the
Vernal Umbrella, letting you do good damage regardless of where the Boss might be. This build does particularly well in solo PVE content as it deals with all open world mobs with ease while also offering fresh ways of killing bosses, remaining fun to play throughout your journey in Where Winds Meet.
Martial Arts
Gear
While the Gear part of the build is still under development and more information will come soon, you should use the Hawkwing + Eaglerise set combo. This part of the build is still under construction as far as specific stats go.
Inner Way
Blossom Barrage offers an extra charge for the
Spring Sorrow, giving you the option to immobilize targets and also increase the damage you deal with projectile skills.
Morale Chant adds high damage increase in PvE Inner Ways and is part of many builds in Where Winds Meet as a core pick. With
Vendetta, your
Bladebound Thread applies a longer-lasting Vendetta Token, allowing your rat to deal increased damage for a longer duration. And of course, don't forget
Breaking Point which increases the damage done by debuffing exhausted enemies.
Mystic Skills
Dragon's Breath is one of the core skills in the game, offering strong, easy-to-maintain DoT damage that can be refreshed consistently. After applying the burn, use Deflect to cancel the animation and resume attacking immediately. You can pair this with the solid flat damage and poison from
Leaping Toad, which is especially effective against bosses since it adds extra pressure while you freely weave in weapon skills.
Ghost Bind is also a strong option for AoE crowd-control, grouping enemies for follow-up attacks.
Soaring Spin provides excellent damage and can be used on cooldown to boost overall DPS.
Cloud Steps gives you the height needed to land
Guardian Palm as a heavy AoE slam, while also offering strong mobility and capable of dismounting mounted enemies opponents.
Wolflike Frenzy knocks enemies down on the first hit and then pops them up just enough to combo cleanly into
Free Morph for a smooth air-juggle extension.
Rotations
- Begin with
Dragon's Breath, then use
Rodent Rampage to buff yourself and summon your rat. After that, cast
Bladebound Thread and follow up with Light Attacks until either the rat disappears or your
Dragon's Breath expires, so make sure to re-apply it asap.
- Begin the rotation with
Spring Sorrow to stun and boost your damage against the enemy before using
Spring Away to deal damage from far away before following up with another
Spring Sorrow to stun the enemy again before using
Unfading Flower to pop up the umbrella so it can do damage while you swap back to the
Mortal Rope Dart to do that rotation and increase damage by a lot.
