Strategic Sword & Soulshade Umbrella PvE Build
- Great CC
- Easy to Play
- Good DPS
- Good Heals
- No Ressurection
- Low Range
Overview
Strategic Sword combined with the
Soulshade Umbrella is normally enough for all group content in Where Winds Meet, it doesn't work as well as the combination of
Soulshade Umbrella &
Panacea Fan as it doesn't have the extra AOE heals and the
Resurrection from
Panacea Fan but it is still good. Good enough to easily clear all PVE content, heal boss group fights and help with healing in Hero's Realm & Sword Trials. While this build is more aimed to be played by new players, it performs perfectly fine in the hands of a more experienced player even if they might find it a bit boring to play as it essentially only uses the
Strategic Sword for damage.
Martial Arts
Gear
While the Gear part of the build is still under development and more information will come soon, you should use the Rainwhisper + Moonflare set combo and make sure to keep the buff active by weaving in Heavy and Light attacks as needed. This part of the build is still under construction as far as specific stats go.
Inner Way
With
Echoes of a Thousand Plants constantly healing you,
Morale Chant is very easy to keep stacked. Another important Inner Way is
Trapped Beast, which gives you a shield when your HP drops low, offering other healers time to heal you back up while you are still being shielded and before you meet an untimely death. Finally,
Mending Loom is also extremely strong, restoring Dew and increasing your healing overall. You can also opt for
Breaking Point if you want a more aggressive build.
Morale Chant is one of the strongest Inner Ways for boosting both damage and healing, making it a must-have for this build and most others in Where Winds Meet. Another essential pick is
Sword Horizon, which extends the
Strategic Sword combos. Both
Inner Track Slash and
Inner Balance Strike III hit much harder thanks to this upgrade.
Mystic Skills
Wolflike Frenzy is great for dealing damage while bosses are knocked down, and you can also use it to knock mobs down with its first hit attack in the chain.
Dragon's Breath is another very strong DOT option, debuffing enemies and dealing steady damage over time. Use Deflect right after landing the fire on the boss/mob to cancel the animation and let the fire burn away their HP.
Cloud Steps is mainly a mobility skill for jumping between targets and getting close more easily; it does some damage (even more to mounted enemies), and you can combo it with
Guardian Palm for solid AOE.
Once you’ve applied
Dragon's Breath, follow up with
Drunken Poet to push your damage even higher.
Soaring Spin is a great gap closer and quick-damage skill, dealing very high damage quickly if you manage to land both hits of the combo. For dealing with groups of mobs,
Blinding Mist works extremely well, though you can swap it for
Ghost Bind if you want a cheaper Vitality option.
Rotations
- The rotation is very simple. Pop up your healing skill by
Echoes of a Thousand Plants so you can heal yourself and others. Use
Floating Grace next to apply a damage buff to yourself and your allies. Then, swap to the
Strategic Sword with
Dual-Weapon Skill. Put up your dot with
Dragon's Breath then cancel out of it with Deflect.
Inner Track Slash is used next before
Inner Balance Strike III. You can then safely continue with
Soaring Spin and re-applying
Dragon's Breath before using
Inner Balance Strike III again.
Floating Grace: Remember to always use this in group settings as it buffs allies and increases damage done.
Pale Petal: While it’s not a skill you need to prioritize, you can use it to keep bosses Exhausted.
