Thundercry Blade & Nameless Spear PvP Build
- Easy to Play
- High AOE damage
- Very Tanky
- Hard to Counter
- Slow
- Can be kited
- Bad vs good players
Overview
In this build you combine the
Nameless Spear and the
Thundercry Blade for an incredibly tanky, defensive build that relies on enemies making mistakes in order to win fights. It performs incredibly well in low rank arenas where enemies aren't very experienced and walk into your abilities, but it struggles against good players. Its ease of use makes it for one of the best builds for new players looking to get into PVP, performing well in all arena modes, guild pvp and BR if you can.
Martial Arts
Gear
While the Gear part of the build is still under development and more information will come soon, you should use the Hawkwing + Eaglerise set combo. This part of the build is still under construction as far as specific stats go.
Inner Way
Morale Chant is an excellent choice for boosting your overall DPS, as every hit can raise your damage, and it’s one of the strongest offensive Inner Ways in Where Winds Meet. For defense,
Trapped Beast is a must since it gives you a large shield when your HP gets low, adding some extra tankiness into the build, making it even more difficult to kill.
Exquisite Scenery is also very useful for increasing your overall damage, letting you make better use of your Charged Heavy Attack.
Mystic Skills
Yaksha Rush works perfectly as a setup either for
Free Morph or
Soaring Spin.
Wolflike Frenzy and
Free Morph are both very strong when used together. If you land
Wolflike Frenzy first attack to knock down the enemy, you can follow it with
Free Morph for a wombo combo of high damage even if it costs a lot of Vitality.
Dragon's Breath is another strong choice for DOT damage into your combos or as a defensive skill when you are being backed into a corner, making it impossible to attack you from the front. You can cancel its animation with Deflect to keep fighting.
Don't forget
Serene Breeze, which breaks you out of CC and enemy attack chains and break you free akin to a trinket in other pvp games granting you protection for a short while. If you need a longer Fortitude (CC immunity) buff, you can use
Golden Body is also a great defensive option, giving you CC immunity for its duration and helping you survive long enough to finish the fight.
Rotations
- Start with
Predator's Shield to buff yourself and use the shield while waiting for the enemy to engage. You’re strongest when playing defensively. After the enemy comes in, use
Sunrush Gale to pull them close and deal damage. Then use
Yaksha Rush into
Free Morph for high burst damage once they’re in range. If they try to escape, continue with
Soaring Spin to chase them down. You can then animation-cancel the second hit of
Soaring Spin and smoothly.
- Transition into the
Qiankun's Lock followed by
Legion Crusher to reduce the cast time before you can channel the full
Storm Dance.
