Overview

A power Alacrity Alacrity DPS build for Amalgam.

In addition to Alacrity Alacrity, this build generates ~10 Might Might (plus an extra ~13 from blasting fire fields), 50% Fury Fury and 30% Swiftness Swiftness. It also provides 20% Stability Stability, but as you need to use the skill for Alacrity Alacrity, you cannot use it reactively.

Weapon Variants

  • The only weapon option available to players that don't own Secrets of the Obscure is Rifle.
  • You could run Sword/Pistol if you prefer. It is a DPS loss, but it frees up the Throw Mine slot to possibly bring utility.

Skill Variants

Protocols
As a support, you could consider swapping one of your protocols to bring different boons. The most likely candidate is Defensive Protocol: Protect. Unfortunately, all the default protocols provide provide a good bit of damage, and you'd only get 20% Protection Protection uptime in return. Bringing Defensive Protocol: Cleanse for Aegis Aegis is not practical, as you'll need to use the skill off cooldown to maintain Alacrity Alacrity.

Heal
You can provide a small amount of support with your choice of heal skill. Both the options below can also provide a blast finisher in case you miss one for triggering Relic of Bloodstone. You could also use this finisher in place of Throw Mine in order to bring a different utility skill.

  • Med Kit allows you to cleanse condis and apply some Swiftness Swiftness and Vigor Vigor.
  • Healing Turret also provides some condi cleanse. In general it's a less potent option than Med Kit, but easier to use.

Utility

  • If using Sword/Pistol, you can replace Throw Mine with Plasmatic State.
  • If you want a simpler rotation, you could replace Grenade Kit instead.
  • You don't need to run Throw Mine if not using Relic of Bloodstone.

Relic
  • Relic of Fireworks is the best option for players that don't own Janthir Wilds.
  • Relic of Fireworks should also be used if not taking Bomb Kit.
  • The Dragon stats Dragon stats pieces are a very small DPS increase, so you can use full Berserker stats Berserker stats if you wish.

Boon Duration

This build doesn't strictly need any boon duration, but the uptime is pretty tight so it is recommended to bring some, though the amount is up to you.

Switching the chest piece to Diviner stats Diviner stats is a simple approach, and Diviner gear is the most efficient way to get boon duration so you could swap more pieces if desired. If this is inconvenient you could also consider:

  • Swapping the Sigil of Superior Sigil of Impact to a Sigil of Superior Sigil of Concentration
  • Using or ascended alternatives.

Usage

With New Genes, each Morph skill generates Alacrity Alacrity, Might Might, and an additional boon depending on the skill.

Rotation

Opener

The opener is optimised around being able to precast bombs just before combat starts. It is essential to get the field from Fire Bomb down before Big Ol' Bomb detonates (the latter has a 1s longer fuse time). If you are worried about your speed, feel free to move Fire Bomb earlier in the opener.

You can precast a Throw Mine - detonate it as soon as a Fire Bomb explodes and the opener otherwise won't change because the cooldown starts when you place the mine.

During the opener, use Defensive Protocol: Thorns as soon as the boon strip occurs (if applicable) to start generating Alacrity Alacrity.

Begin in Bomb Kit

  1. Magnetic Bomb
  2. Big Ol' Bomb
  3. Fire Bomb
  4. Galvanic Bomb
  5. Evolve
  6. Throw Mine
  7. Flux State
  8. Thunderclap
  9. Offensive Protocol: Obliterate - as we're running Silver Lining it's important to get this out early for the buff
  10. Electro-whirl
  11. Grenade Kit
    1. Shrapnel Grenade
    2. Poison Grenade
    3. Freeze Grenade
  12. Offensive Protocol: Demolish and stow Grenade Kit during the cast
  13. Positive Strike Negative Bash Equalizing Blow
  14. Electro-whirl
  15. Grenade Kit
    1. Shrapnel Grenade
    2. exit Grenade Kit
  16. Autoattack until Electro-whirl is ready - make sure to finish your attack chains

Loop

  1. Electro-whirl
  2. Grenade Kit
    1. Shrapnel Grenade
  3. Bomb Kit
    1. Big Ol' Bomb
    2. Fire Bomb
    3. Galvanic Bomb
    4. Magnetic Bomb
  4. Evolve (if available)
  5. Throw Mine and stow Bomb Kit during the cast
  6. Thunderclap
  7. Offensive Protocol: Obliterate
  8. Electro-whirl

  11. Positive Strike Negative Bash Equalizing Blow
  12. Electro-whirl
  13. Grenade Kit
    1. Shrapnel Grenade
    2. exit Grenade Kit
  14. Autoattack until Electro-whirl is ready - make sure to finish your attack chains
  15. Repeat from start of loop
  • Cast Defensive Protocol: Thorns off cooldown.
  • Cast Flux State off cooldown, but you can delay it slightly to make it line up with your Relic of Bloodstone/Evolve buffs.

General Tips

  • Hammer is an overloaded weapon in terms of utility: Electro-whirl reflects projectiles, Rocket Charge is a series of short evades, Shock Shield is a channeled block, and Thunderclap is an AoE stun. Making the best use of all of them will greatly improve your effectiveness.
