Specializations

Variants

Bountiful Hunter can be replaced by either of the other traits in its tier:

  • Wellspring provides some additional healing power.
  • Allies' Aid adds a lot to your supportive capabilities. You'll want a Pink Moa Pink Moa and Black Moa Black Moa, swapping one for White Moa White Moa if you desire extra defense. This change is considerable if you want to play with a bigger support focus.

Usage

Elite specialization basics

  • Rangers with the Druid Druid specialization gain access to Celestial Avatar (CA) which uses a resource called Astral Force (AF).
  • You build AF through dealing damage and healing allies. This build takes Eclipse which causes your damage to build AF even faster, and that will be your main way of generating it.
  • Celestial Avatar skills are generally defensive and provide healing, but the 5th ability, Natural Convergence, can deal a surprising amount of damage as well.
  • Celestial Avatar is also your primary way to burst. Grace of the Land causes each ability to grant might to nearby allies, yourself included, and its third skill Immobilize Immobilizes and Daze Dazes targets. With Fortifying Bond granting your pet any boons you receive, you can give your pet an extreme amount of might in a short time while also rooting and Slow Slowing your target.

Basics

  • The main gameplan of this build is to support your Feline pets with CC, boons and healing to allow their high damage abilities to shine. This is done through its various Command skills, weapon skills (notably Call of the Wild), Fortifying Bond, and Resounding Timbre. CCing any target will give you and your pet Quickness Quickness, which you should immediately copy to your pet with "Sic 'Em!". Spamming abilities while in Celestial Avatar (see: Grace of the Land) also provides Might Might for you and your pet very quickly.
  • When a solid opportunity presents itself (e.g. a target is stunned, rooted, or snared some way, or you simply want to focus them), activate your pet's Beast ability. Landing it will trigger Go for the Throat, which you'll want to immediately follow up with "Sic 'Em!" for an 80% damage boost. This will cause your now very angry (and jacked) kitty to shred whatever you decided to point it at.
  • You have a lot of healing power and supportive abilities. Stay evasive while making room for your pet to deal damage -- pepper opponents with dazes and stuns, but also hop in and out of Celestial Avatar to buff and heal your allies.

Sustain

  • Thistleguard (Mace 4) cleanses up to 3 conditions in addition to a huge barrier. It also gives a small amount of Stability Stability to help you land other important abilities, and you can get additional stacks by immediately casting your heal skill "We Heal As One!"
  • Flourish (Mace 2) provides some healing and Regeneration Regeneration. Use it regularly.
  • Celestial Avatar abilities all feature a healing element except for the 5th skill. You can stay in this form and spam Cosmic Ray and Seed of Life if the situation calls for it. Its 4th skill Rejuvenating Tides heals you and nearby allies, and also creates a water field you can use finishers into for some extra healing.
  • Entering Celestial Avatar cleanses 3 conditions.
  • Seed of Life (CA form 2) cleanses 2 conditions, and you can blast it with Lunar Impact to cleanse another.
  • Evasive Purity makes your dodges cleanse a condition. Vigor Vigor comes from Invigorating Bond and Lightning Reflexes (if taken).

Defense

  • You don't always have to save "Guard!" for a stunbreak. It's an excellent source of Protection Protection.
  • Your pet's health is also important; without your pet, you do very little damage. Don't blindly send them into danger, and if they're getting focused call them back to your side to heal them or swap them for your other pet. You can also heal your pet with "We Heal As One!" and various Celestial Avatar abilities.

Didn't expect this setup to work at all, but after like 30 hours of testing it, I'm close to rating it 5 stars. 25 might cat with +80% damage in Sic 'Em! mods SHREDS targets and you have a ton of healing for yourself and allies. You can either go super evasive with GS + Tyrian Hero or full quickness kitty shred duelist with S/Wh + Pirate Queen and both are fine depending on what you need. I like the latter because it makes your cats into even bigger DPS machines, but it also makes taking Cheetah a requirement for the Swiftness. Issue with that is Sic 'Em and its lesser counterpart cancel your pet's... behavior que? So because Savannah Strike (Cheetah's beast ability) is two hits that don't land at the same time (unlike Snow Leopard & Lynx) you'll only get the damage from the first one if it procs Lesser Sic 'Em, effectively turning it into a 900dmg ability instead of 1800. I've had the most success taking Pirate Queen & Glyph of the Stars with Sw/Wh since you get a lot of additional finishers, extra cleanse and even a rez if you find the opportunity. Doing that leaves you much scrappier but with no Superspeed. Mobility is still fine, just nothing crazy. 4.5/5 in the right situation, sucks into heavy AoE. Avoid condi revs and bursty core guards.
