Usage

  • This build is generally intended to aid in teamfights, but can handle certain match ups in 1v1s.
  • A major focus of this build is ensuring you have Relic of Vass stacks available as often as possible. This plethora of Poison Poison can prove to be a detriment to enemies on the field. This relic also activates on all Elixir-type skills; the recharge does NOT apply to all elixirs, only the heal skill.

Elixirs

  • Hidden Flask activates when struck below 75%.
  • Elixir H
    • This also activates Transmute for an additional 3 relic stacks.
  • Toss Elixir H
  • Elixir S
  • Toss Elixir S
  • With Elite Mortar Kit equipped:
    • Elixir Shell

Damage

  • Using Toss Elixir H ensures you keep some Relic of Vass stacks on hand.
  • Poison Dart Volley with Incendiary Ammo provides a quick burst of Poison Poison and Burning Burning.
  • Static Shot is a great source of negating incoming damage and/or cover conditions.
  • Use Blowtorch, Rocket Kick & Flame Blast as your major sources of Burning Burning.
  • With Elixir Gun equipped:
    • Fumigate is great at inflicting additional poison and Vulnerability Vulnerability.
    • Acid Bomb is an Unblockable Unblockable that also activates Vass to inflict poison.
  • With Flamethrower equipped:
    • Flame Blast is a quick way to inflict Burning Burning on enemies.
    • Air Blast can inflict additional Burning Burning on enemies.
    • Napalm is great for downstate enemies to keep conditions ticking and prevent them from reviving.

Sustain

  • Magnetic Shield (engineer) can be used to negate incoming projectiles.
    • Using the follow-up Magnetic Inversion can create some distance.
  • Static Shield can stun enemies who attempt to attack you from melee.
    • Using the follow-up Throw Shield provides some additional Daze Daze while you wind up something else.
  • With Elite Mortar Kit equipped:
    • Flash Shell can negate attacks with Blind Blind.
  • With Flamethrower equipped:
    • Smoke Vent can provide a quick source of blind to negate a single attack while CC'd.

Combos

  • This will cover a variety of useful combo field + finishers. This is part of what makes this build shine.
  • Blast Finishers:
    • Magnetic Inversion, the follow-up skill for Magnetic Shield (engineer).
    • Orbital Strike
    • Rocket Boots.
    • Flame Blast from Flamethrower.
  • With Elite Mortar Kit equipped:
    • Poison Gas Shell is a Poison field.
      • You can blast this field to inflict enemies with Weakness Weakness
    • Endothermic Shell is an Ice field.
      • You can blast this field to grant allies Frost Aura Frost Aura.
    • Flash Shell is a Light field.
      • You can blast this field to remove conditions from yourself and allies.
    • Elixir Shell is a Water field.
      • You can blast this field to heal yourself and allies. This is extremely important to the survivability of this build and can heal up to 5200hp with all 4 blast finishers.

This has that oldschool engi vibe that I like, but in the end spear is better. Don't play Flamethrower unironically in 2025, not worth it. Maybe in meme builds with 111 spam but not as an actual condi wep.

I've been running this build for years now, and its always been pretty solid. It can hold its own fairly well in 1v1's, but there are definitely some hard counters mostly Reaper, Spellbreaker and Willbender. Tempest can also be a real pain but they struggle killing you as well. Relic of the Vass is mandatory, and it really gives the build back a little damage its been lacking, plus keeping targets from healing optimally. Recent buffs to Alchemy really made this build nearly invincible to condition damage. Rune is pretty optional, only adjustments I'd make to the build listed is swapping out the elite for Supply crate, and Elixir U for Elixir S.
