Luminary - Alacrity Support Healer
This is a test build. You may comment and rate it.
Focused on: Support, Healing and Utility
Designed for: Raids and Fractals
Overview
A Luminary support build for raids and fractals.
While having good healing, Luminary doesn't cover many boons automatically so weapon and utility selection is important to make sure everything is covered.
Skill Bar
Weapon Variants
The main weakness of this build is
Might provision. This can be provided by Staff or Spear, which should be enough to cap might in most situations but be aware you may need to bring more.
- Other than or relics, the only source of
Swiftness you have is on Staff, which is why it is recommended over Spear.
With the default build, you should be able to maintain
Protection and
Regeneration, but your uptime is quite tight for a healer, so you may need to pad it with or:
- Mace/Shield can cover both boons
- Hammer can provide
Protection.
Skill Variants
As Luminary is a defensive support, it's important to swap skills to fit the encounter. All of the following utility skills and elite skills are viable depending on the situation:
Utility
- - a good all-rounder that provides
Stability on demand with bonus healing and padding of
Protection uptime. - - a good amount of barrier on a low cooldown, on a class with pretty limited access. Also CCs.
- - the strongest sustained healing utility guardian has, and can provide it over a large area at range.
- - A source of pulsing
Stability for your team. Longer duration, but harder to use than . - - Instant AoE stun break and
Stability. - - alternative signet if the DPS in your subgroup deal mainly condition damage.
- - if you think a ranged revive will be needed.
- - more
Protection and
Regeneration uptime. - - could be used if you need to apply
Aegis in a large AoE. - - destroys projectiles in fights like Arkk. Isn't always reliable as the shield has very low health and can be killed easily.
- - reflects projectiles.
- - even more CC.
- - very strong CC, plus the combination of and means this triggers the heal on CC seven times so it's a powerful heal (though not quite as powerful as ).
- Also works well in situations where mobs heavily outnumber your team:
- Subject 6 in Thaumanova Reactor Fractal, prevents mini oozes from coming to subject 6 when your teammates take down Veteran Ooze.
- Elite Molten Flame Shaman(before crossing bridge)/Champion Molten Effigy in Molten Boss Fractal.
- Abyss chamber and Last boss prevent spectral flames from reaching your team / The Voice in Deepstone Fractal.
- Siren's Reef (Black Peter,Deposit treasure, last 3 bosses)
- Also works well in situations where mobs heavily outnumber your team:
Elite
- helps you get
Might up faster and offers a little CC and healing. - gives you access to a little bit of group
Quickness and
Superspeed. - has good healing potential if you don't need to utility of other elites.

Trait Variants
All three of the Luminary grandmaster traits are useful to a support healer so you can pick depending on the playstyle you prefer:
- allows you to access your virtue skills more frequently, which in turn gives you more of the empowered versions of your radiant forge skills. As well as the healing increase from more s, it improves your access to
Aegis. - provides healing by detonating light auras, so the playstyle will revolve around frequent use of Luminary skills.
- gives you more frequent access to your radiant forge skills, also allowing you to use them more reactively if you keep your virtues passive.
The default build uses as it provides more healing than , while only offering slightly less
Might. More importantly, it allows for permanent
Protection and
Regeneration uptime without the need to use any particular weapon, as well as much better access to . Additionally, while can compete in terms of raw healing, it also requires a stricter rotation and dedicating multiple slots to stances, while is much more flexible.
Other trait options:
- if you want more
Protection for your party. - great trait for speedy reviving.
- - Worse
Might uptime for slightly better heal potential. Popular choice for Raids. - if your party can't stay stacked in your symbols.
- if you're running consecrations.
- Luminary's active virtue effects are much stronger than their passives, so in general you won't get much value out of or .

Usage
Alacrity is provided by equipping weapons inside Radiant Forge, which is available on a low cooldown at all times.
Might comes from a few places, but maximising uptime involves making frequent use of either Staff or Spear for or , respectively.
You can be effective by camping this weapon, activating your Virtues, and jumping into Radiant Forge whenever you would be autoattacking.
Protection and
Regeneration can be a little tight, so you will also want to switch to Mace/Shield on occasion to provide a buffer of these boons. A simpler alternative is to bring and use it off cooldown, but this requires giving up a utility slot. Weapon swapping efficiently will also maximise your healing output.
Virtues
You can use and off cooldown as the timing of their active effects is not crucial. You may not always wish to do so with though, as it provides both
Aegis and
Stability which can be used to mitigate dangerous attacks. You have plenty of other ways of providing these boons, but they require sacrificing a utility slot or may be gated by weapon swaps or Radiant Forge cooldowns. If there aren't particular mechanics you must block, you can just use off cooldown as well.
The default builds uses , which drastically reduces the cooldown of your Virtues whenever you equip a radiant weapon. This can mean it is worth very slightly delaying your Radiant Forge if a Virtue is about to come off cooldown. At the very least, if a Virtue is off cooldown, you should use it before equipping any radiant weapons.
Radiant Forge
There are two general approaches you can take to Radiant Forge use: enter nearly off cooldown and alternate between using three weapons, and just ; or slightly delay the use of Radiant Forge so you can use three each time. The former approach maximises
Alacrity and
Might uptime, while the latter maximises healing and
Protection (though uptimes off all boons should be permanent regardless). You can maintain
Alacrity by just using and , but there's little downside to throwing in as well.
Practically speaking, outside of the opener it is simplest to prioritise weapon skills and use as many skills as are available whenever you reach Radiant Forge.
When is available, make sure it is your last equipped weapon so that you will continue to benefit from the 15% healing modifier of . The flip skills of and are only for damage so there's no reason to use them. You should always use as it is a heal and condi cleanse.
can be used for extra
Alacrity, but it is also one of your sources of
Aegis, and the is a CC, so it can be useful to hold on to it to deal with mechanics. Unlike other skills, and are triggered at the start of the animation rather than the end, so you can interrupt it and all you lose is the channelled block.
General Tips
- Open and close your Mace sections with . If running it's worth using it an additional time in between, but to avoid delaying your weapon swap too much make sure to use it as soon as it comes off cooldown rather than finishing auto chains.
- Use for
Protection, but you can adjust the timing if the
Aegis is needed. You can similarly adjust the timing of around mechanics or when healing is needed.
- Use for
- On Staff, when running you have the choice of either doing one or two each loop. Using it twice lowers your healing, but increases your
Might generation. If you're the only source of
Might in your subgroup, you will need to either use two s or make sure to use Radiant Forge more frequently to maximise your uses of .
- If using two s, open each Staff section with ⇒ ⇒ . Otherwise, open with ⇒ .
- If using Spear, open and close each section with , and try to use three times. can be saved to remove condis.
- only provides
Fury if it is Illuminated, so if uptime is low then start with instead.
- only provides
In real encounters, you may need to adjust your rotation to the situation based on whether healing is needed or when you need to provide
Aegis/
Stability etc.
Example Opener
Begin on Staff or Spear
- and use all Virtues
- (if using Spear)
- ⇒
- (if using Staff)
- Use your weapon's Symbol and any healing skills if needed
Weapon Swap
Healing
Healing from traits:
- causes your dodge to heal
- causes all your symbols to pulse healing
- makes every hard CC skill (see below) heal in an AoE
- If running , every
Light Aura detonation heals in an AoE
Many Luminary abilities apply
Luminary's Blessing. This effect reduces incoming strike damage while active, and heals when it expires. Like , reapplying the effect counts as it expiring.
Luminary's Blessing is applied by the following:
- , when you - it does require you to already have the effect, but practically speaking you'll never without it
- applies
Luminary's Blessing every time you equip a weapon inside Radiant Forge
The following healing is available regardless of setup:
- heals when activated, and causes your next use of to heal
- - provides a small heal when used without a weapon equipped, or with radiant staff or shield equipped
- doesn't provide any healing, but causes your next use of to apply AoE Barrier
There are two options for heal skill that aid allies:
- - a large heal with long range, thought the cast time is quite long and the cone shape could be awkward
- - heals for less and has a longer cooldown, but the AoE is easier to use and it also removes conditions
There are many utility options that heal:
- - long range, your most powerful sustained heal, and the ammo mechanic means it's easy to use for regular healing while keeping one use for emergencies
- - small AoE, but good healing (particularly when combined with and ). The real value comes from the fact the dome blocks projectiles and prevents non-defiant enemies entering the dome, which doubles as a powerful CC
- - not a bad heal, but the teleport effect is pretty niche and while the revive is nice a more powerful heal might prevent allies getting downed in the first place
- - a lot of barrier on a short cooldown. This is one of only two sources you have, and is much easier to access
- - the heal is small, but it applies per boon stack, making it surprisingly effective when combined with skills such as
There are two elite options that heal:
- - a small passive heal, with a massive active one over a large area if you channel it fully. The boons are a nice bonus but you shouldn't struggle with providing them from other sources
- - while it doesn't have any inherent healing, it applies
Luminary's Blessing six times, which is something
Aside from symbols, the following weapons have skills that heal:
- Mace -
- Focus -
- Shield -
- Staff - and
- Spear - and
Finally, with any blast finisher becomes a heal (assuming there is a field to combo with):
- / (Hammer)
- (Staff)
- (Focus)
- - the blast is a nice bonus if bringing the skill for CC, it's not enough healing to bring as a support option
Condition Cleanse
You don't have a huge amount of condi cleanse for a healer, though your frequent combos with light fields means it is relatively consistent:
- ⇒ - removes 3
- - removes 3
- - removes 8 at a rate of one per second
- pulls allies conditions on to you, but it's rare that this would be more valuable that one of the other options
You could also consider running to help mitigate the effects of damaging conditions, but this is rarely useful.
Boons
Alacrity
Applied in an AoE every time you equip a radiant weapon, via .
Aegis
The duration on is long enough that
Aegis uptime on allies is permanent (assuming they don't get hit). With the cooldown reduction of , and always having access to , and , it is rare that you'll need to dedicate a slot to .
- (Mace) - the first part provides an AoE blocking effect when channelled, and if an attack is blocked it will then provide
Aegis in an AoE - (Shield)
Fury
You should be using frequently enough that
Fury is not a problem, but in case you want more:
- or
- (Spear)
Might
can provide ~16
Might if used frequently enough, and (via ) can provide another ~6. If you need to provide all 25 stacks alone, you'll need to bring either Staff or Spear. You could also use , but it's not hard to bring either of these weapons.
Protection
You can just about scrape 100% uptime of
Protection with , and using and nearly off cooldown. Practically speaking, you'll want at least one other source for it to be reliable:
- - offers nearly 40% uptime, and this is a pretty good skill anyway so it will often be part of your build
- - offers 75% uptime, which is overkill considering the skill doesn't do much else of value, but the 600-unit radius is nice
- (Mace) - potentially 80% uptime, but requires blocking an attack to trigger
- (Shield) - 25-40% uptime, depending on rotation
- (Hammer) - the final hit of the auto chain drops a short-duration symbol that pulses
Protection - competes with , but this is a tiny tradeoff if you're not bringing Mace or blocking attacks frequently
- You could also run , but it is unlikely that you'll be in a situation where you can't spare a weapon or utility slot
Regeneration
With , should be enough to maintain
Regeneration, but an extra source can be nice:
- - offers 75% uptime
- (Mace) - easily enough to provide permanent
Regeneration by itself
Resistance and Resolution
You provide a small amount of
Resistance with , and (Spear) offers a bit more.
Resolution can be found on , and you can make uptime permanent if you wish, but neither of these boons is so important that it's likely to be worth it:
- (Spear)
Stability
Stability uptime could be permanent if you dedicate two utility slots to it, but this is of niche use and your frequent
Aegis makes it less necessary. Your sources are:
Swiftness
It's preferable not to need to rely on a relic for
Swiftness (especially as it won't be permanent), so one of the following is very useful to bring:
- (Staff) - Staff is already a great weapon, and this just makes it even better
- - enough for permanent uptime if you use it frequently enough, and you could swap Staff for Spear if you want it for
Aegis anyway
Vigor
Unfortunately, your only source of
Vigor is Longbow, which is not a great heal weapon and would compromise your other boon provision. The uptime would be permanent though, and with , you would still have some healing.
Pre-stacking Buffs (Fractals only)
The following is only a suggestion. This is enough to start you with 25
Might and a decent buffer of
Alacrity and
Protection.
- - players will often blast for additional
Might, and putting this down first means your light fields won't get in the way. Make sure to swap it back out before starting the fight. - and inside Radiant Forge
- or , depending on which weapon you have
- and all Virtues - these have no cast time so use them during the animations of other abilities
- Take mistlock
CC
If running , all these skills will heal allies.
- ⇒
- - triggering the CC requires you and your target to move over 300 units apart during the tether duration, this is fine to do as a healer, but be careful if you're the tank
- (Hammer)
- (Hammer) - requires you to place the ring in the centre of your target's hitbox, which can be difficult
- (Staff) - like Ring of Warding, requires placing the line in the centre of your target's hitbox, but as you have fine control over the placement this is much more feasible
- (Spear)
- (Shield)
