Overview
Power mirage offers good burst damage and has access to plentiful utility, including invulnerability, blocks and teleports.
This build revolves around Ambushes, Shatters and the trait , turning into yet another source of
Mirage Cloak for more Ambushes, which replace your next auto attack with a stronger attack, such as the laser from the greatsword's Ambush skill.
As a downside, this build has very little access to boons and its damage is not great but not terrible either.

If you don't have access to dagger with Weaponmaster Training from Secrets of the Obscure, replace it with
Mainhand sword.
Mainhand sword - replaces dagger for players without Secrets of the Obscure. It deals less damage but it has a helpful evade.
Spear - can replace greatsword for higher damage, more AoE damage and helpful condition removal, but it is melee only.

If you are gearing this character from zero, start with exotic quality gear. Search the trading post for "Zhed" armor, "Uzoku" dagger, "Bonetti" sword, "Impaler" spear, and "Ebonblade" greatsword. Upgrade to ascended gear as you progress. See also: Guide:How to Gear a Character.

Usage
Mirage Cloak
is the profession mechanic of the mirage. Whenever you dodge or pick up a , you enter
Mirage Cloak for 0,75 seconds, dodging incoming attacks. You also gain access to Ambush skills for 1,5 seconds, which replace your first weapon skill.
Mirage Cloak does not have a cast time, allowing mirages to dodge at any time, such as when casting a skill, when reviving someone, but cannot be used while under the effects of hard crowd control or immobilization.
Damage
Most of your damage comes from Shatters and Ambushes. Whenever you have more than half of your endurance, dodge to enter
Mirage Cloak and fire off your Ambush skill. Additionally, you want to use with three clones off cooldown, which due to will also give you more
Mirage Cloak. As a little bonus, gaining
Mirage Cloak reduces the cooldown of .
As a power build, you clones deal extremely low power damage, so they are merely Shatter fodder. Although can look pretty with all your clones shooting lasers, clones deal extremely low power damage and this trait is not worth it.
Shattering also activates , giving you a very nice damage buff; and , which gives
Vigor for more endurance for more Ambushes, and increases your damage due to this trait.
Greatsword
On greatsword you want to spam all skills for damage except , which deals very little damage and should instead be saved for crowd control. A good rotation would be to cast twice (or thrice if using before swapping to Dagger/Sword. Be careful with , it will interrupt whatever you are doing to cast it, which can potentially interrupt important skills such as your heal skill.
Its Ambush skill is , which deals decent damage and applies
Vulnerability.
Dagger/Sword
On dagger/sword you want to spam all your skills except which should be saved for blocking. A good rotation would be to cast twice before swapping back to greatsword.
Its Ambush skill is which deals damage and inflicts conditions. The greatsword ambush deals slightly higher damage so don't spend all your energy on dagger.
Alternative weapons
- Spear
Spear can replace greatsword for higher damage, more AoE damage and helpful condition removal, but it is melee only.
When using spear, try to always hit your target with the outer edge of to deal more damage, if you hit with both the outer and inner halves it will count as an outer edge hit, so it's easy to always deal empowered damage. Hitting with gives you "Clarity", which empowers your next spear skill. You want to always cast empowered by Clarity. should be saved for an extra dodge or to cleanse conditions.

Vulnerability. It deals more damage than dagger or greatsword's Ambush skills.
- Mainhand sword
If using mainhand sword instead of dagger, deals no damage and should only be used if you're missing a third clone before shattering. The sword's Ambush skill is , which leaps you forward, deals damage, and
Dazes. The greatsword or spear ambush deals slightly higher damage so don't spend all your energy on sword.
