Overview

A Sentinel F2P WvW build designed for Roaming and sustain. The November 28, 2023 update makes the build somewhat stronger due to buffs for Signet of Vampirism, Well of Power, and Soul Comprehension, but doesn't alter the playstyle.

Usage

• Gain health when in shroud from Unholy Sanctuary, gain life force when not in shroud from Eternal Life, siphon health on attacks from Vampiric and Vampiric Presence, siphon health and gain life force in combat from Signet of Vampirism and Signet of Undeath respectively, gain health when not in shroud from .

• Also focuses on dedicated attacks for rebuilding health and life force with Life Siphon, Ghastly Claws, and Soul Grasp, and since health is generated on hit Locust Swarm with so many hits is effective too.

• Lots of boon rip with Dark Pact, Unholy Feast, Spinal Shivers, and Signet of the Locust. Interrupting npc enemy heals is easiest with Wail of Doom, can also use Doom, an unreliably long windup for the charge of Summon Flesh Golem makes it hard as a reaction, and although it can be used pre-emptively it's more useful as a huge defiance bar break.

• Life Transfer with Transfusion plus the improved reviving of Ritual of Life makes saving teammates a snap, throw in Signet of Undeath active for dire situations.

• Speed of Shadows and even one use of Locust Swarm makes for effectively perma swiftness. Red borderlands especially are annoying due to big drops on some paths putting character in combat, which activates the siphon health and can put the character in longer combat by ticking yellow monsters.

• Well of Power is the only stun break. Shroud cleanses conditions too and conditions rarely trouble the healing anyway, but stun lock builds are dangerous.

• F2P cannot craft Sentinel gear without Guild Commendations, and cannot buy them or the needed components from AH, but WvW PvP and fractals all offer easy access to customizable gear that can choose Sentinel, and the build functions well in PvP and fractals too. Soldier gear is easier to get and a reasonable substitute while gearing. As of September 2023 there are no good relics for the build, Fireworks is at least graphically festive without being graphically obnoxious.
