Renegade - Power DPS
The community gave this build a rating, making it second-tier: Good
Focused on: Direct damage and Utility
Designed for: Fractals and Raids
Overview
A power DPS build for Renegade featuring impressive burst that scales well with hitbox size, a fluid rotation and a small amount of incidental boon support and healing. It can also trade DPS for extra utility and sustain.
The melee requirement, fast pace and energy management can make it a somewhat difficult build to play on actual encounters, and it also loses not insignificant damage if forced to dodge. Energy on revenant in general, but especially on builds with can take some getting used to, but once you get comfortable with which skill costs how much energy and how that let's you reset your rotations and burst windows, you will become a lot more adaptable on actual encounters.
Skill Bar
- Players without Secrets of the Obscure don't have a strong second weapon set for DPS, so Greatsword can be replaced with Staff for access to more CC.

- On bosses that can be regularly stunned, will be better than /.
- The optimal number of
Dragon stats pieces will depend on how many infusions are used. Full
Berserker stats is only a small DPS loss. - less initial burst, traded for more damage below 50% boss health. Worse in bursty fights like fractals. Net equal on the golem.
- In situations where sustain is more important than maximum damage, you can take over for a minor dps loss in exchange for great self sustain. If this is somehow still not enough sustain, you can also consider for even more self sustain at an additional cost of dps.

Utility
Usage
is essentially interchangeable with , the latter can be useful if you need
Stability or CC in your opener, if your supports for some reason aren't bringing any, i.e. on Gorseval or on fractal fights that start on a CC bar. Keep in mind that
Stability can be corrupted into
Fear, so on encounters with boon corruption is better.
During the loops below, you want to cast whenever it becomes available, without interrupting your auto attack chains. The only exception to this rule is when you can manage to cast it so early in the sword loop, that it will still fit inside uptime. Eventually, you will also reach a sword loop, where never comes off cooldown at all. You need to spot this early and replace it with , as well as casting off cooldown in between your auto attack chains, otherwise you will not be able to drain enough energy to trigger without significantly reducing your dps potential.

General Usage
- 23% of your crit chance comes from having full endurance (via ), so try to avoid dodging if you can.
- Both weapon sets have active defense - on Sword and on Greatsword.
- Your most important DPS skills are , , and along with and (on sword), and and (on greatsword) in this order of priority. If your dps window is small or coming to an end, try to fit as many of these skills in before the target phases.
- When you're not casting skills make sure you're consistently auto-attacking the boss, being careful not to interrupt the chain as the damage is heavily back-loaded.
Break bars
Due to their large energy costs (or requirement to swap to staff) all of this build's CC options will result in a large drop-off in your DPS. However, they are all powerful AoE control effects so they can be used to rescue your group from dangerous situations and are well worth pressing once you get comfortable with resetting your burst windows.
- outputs a large amount of breakbar damage after a noticeable delay, be aware that you have to stay within 600 units for the skill to function so you can't move away if cast at max range as well as casting it slightly ahead of a breakbar to account for the delay.
- is less value than due to the large energy cost for relatively low CC output in comparison, but can still be useful given the correct situation.
- (only if using Staff) is one of the strongest CC skills in the game. However be aware that this is only a last resort CC option, as it will reduce your damage enormously just to bring a staff at all, even if you never use it. If possible, step back from the target slightly before casting this to maximize the impacts that land on the boss. Be careful using this skill near the edges of platforms, such as on Xera or the final boss of the Chaos fractal as the forced movement can send you over the edge.
