Overview

A power Quickness Quickness DPS build for Ritualist. It can also provide 25 stacks of Might Might, permanent Fury Fury, ~25-30% Protection Protection, Vigor Vigor and Resolution Resolution. Additionally, it can provide Aegis Aegis and Stability Stability on a 20-second cooldown, while its spirit of Preservation provides a small amount of consistent healing and condition cleanse.

The downside to Ritualist is the small AoE of its boon provision, plus the fact that your Innervate skills are triggered at your spirits' locations and they can only be repositioned while in Shroud making it weaker on encounters with a lot of movement.

Skill Bar

Greatsword
Spear
Utility
  • Ritualist spends much less long in Shroud than other Necromancer specialisations, which strongly inclines it towards the higher sustained damage of Spear over other weapons.

Skill Variants

Signet of Spite can be swapped out if extra utility is needed:

  • Any Elixir can be used for better personal boon uptimes or condi cleanse.
  • Spectral Grasp - AoE pull for easier cleaving.
  • Corrosive Poison Cloud - destroys projectiles.
  • Summon Flesh Wurm - 1200 range teleport. Can also bodyblock certain projectiles (e.g. Old Tom's poison whirl).

Specializations

  • Chill of Death is poor damage against targets with no boons, so you could run Spiteful Fortitude to boost your life force.

Equipment Variants

  • You don't strictly need extra boon duration to maintain 100% Quickness Quickness uptime, but it would be rather tight and the small AoE on Empowering Spirits makes it easy to miss your allies.
    • You can bring more boon duration by swapping in Diviner stats Diviner stats pieces. Bear in mind you will need to swap other pieces to Assassin stats Assassin stats to maintain your critrate.
    • A simpler method would be to swap your runes to Rune of Superior Rune of Fireworks. This provides 37% boon duration and is marginally more efficient than swapping in Diviner stats Diviner stats - DPS wise it is equivalent to 35% boon duration from Diviner stats Diviner stats.
  • You want to aim for ~2005-2010 precision (with Sigil of Superior Sigil of Accuracy).
  • Rune of Superior Rune of the Scholar would be a tiny DPS loss.
  • Sigil of Superior Sigil of the Night or slaying sigils if you can benefit from the bonus (replacing Sigil of Superior Sigil of Force).
  • If you don't have stat infusions, use Assassin stats Assassin stats legs.

Impact Sigil Variant

If you want to benefit from Sigil of Superior Sigil of Impact, you will need to slot in more assassins pieces:

  • You want to aim for ~2155 precision.
  • The extra precision from Rune of Superior Rune of the Pack makes it very efficient when combined with Sigil of Superior Sigil of Impact, so if you want more boon duration you can bring this and run full Berserker stats Berserker stats gear with Assassin stats Assassin stats head and shoulders (strictly speaking it is optimal to run with 98-99% crit chance, but crit-capping is absolutely fine too).

Consumables

Food:

  • or ascended versions

Utility:

Usage

Necromancer's Spear is one of the less complicated spears. Most of your weapons skills build up stacks of a powerful lifesteal buff called Soul Shards Soul Shards that caps at six stacks. Perforate consumes these stacks for a burst of damage and healing. Addle and Extirpate generate four and two stacks, respectively, so these are used for the first Perforate. Distress generates six stacks, and so it is used both to recharge, and power the second Perforate. You may gain different numbers of stacks depending on the number of enemies nearby, but this doesn't change your rotation.

Boons

Your Quickness Quickness comes from Empowering Spirits every time you summon a Spirit. Depending on the spirit used, you also provide an additional boon. Innervate Anguish provides additional Might Might and Fury Fury in an AoE around your spirits, while Innervate Preservation provides Aegis Aegis and Stability Stability, which is useful for mitigating mechanics. Finally, Preservation provides a small amount of Protection Protection and Vigor Vigor.

Rotation

You want to cast both your Weapon Spells off cooldown while close to allies. You also want to cast Innervate Anguish off cooldown, but bear in mind that the attack happens around your spirit, so make sure it is next to your target. The other F-skills can be saved for utility.

Opener

Start on Greatsword

  1. Splinter Weapon and Nightmare Weapon - make sure not to cast these two early in raids, as the stacks will be removed by the boon strip
  2. Grasping Darkness to trigger Relic of the Claw
  3. Ritualist's Shroud

Shroud Loop

The Shroud Loop is the same each time. Summon Spirits causes your spirits to perform an extra attack if they're not still using their summon attack, so you want to use at least two autos between Preservation and Summon Spirits. At the same time, you want the attack from Summon Spirits to be finished in time to cast Anguish a second time without delaying it, which means using no more than three autos here.

  1. Anguish - Cast this first both to get the debuff on your target, and because we want to cast it twice before exiting Shroud
  2. Wanderlust
  3. Preservation
  4. Essence Blast x2
  5. Summon Spirits
  6. Essence Blast until Anguish is ready
  7. Anguish
  8. Exit Ritualist's Shroud

Greatsword-to-Spear Loop

You want to cast Nightfall as soon as you can, but otherwise the skill order doesn't matter on Greatsword as long as you don't interrupt the auto chain.

  1. Nightfall - use whenever it is available
  2. Death Spiral
  3. Gravedigger
  4. Dusk Strike Fading Twilight Chilling Scythe - This resets Gravedigger so don't interrupt it
  5. Gravedigger
  6. Weapon Swap Weapon Swap
  7. Addle
  8. Extirpate
  9. Isolate
  10. Perforate
  11. Distress - make sure Perforate has finished casting or this won't reset its cooldown
  12. Perforate
  13. Ritualist's Shroud
  14. Return to Shroud Loop

Spear-to-Greatsword Loop

You want to cast Nightfall as soon as you can, but otherwise the skill order doesn't matter on Greatsword as long as you don't interrupt the auto chain.

  1. Isolate
  2. Addle
  3. Perforate
  4. Distress - make sure Perforate has finished casting or this won't reset its cooldown
  5. Perforate
  6. Weapon Swap Weapon Swap
  7. Nightfall
  8. Death Spiral
  9. Gravedigger
  10. Dusk Strike Fading Twilight Chilling Scythe - This resets Gravedigger so don't interrupt it
  11. Gravedigger
  12. Grasping Darkness
  13. Ritualist's Shroud
  14. Return to Shroud Loop

Below 50%

When your target is below 50% health, replace the auto chain on Greatsword with three Gravediggers (so you're using five each time).
