A core warrior build for levelling or unlocking elite especializations. Featuring good power damage, some mobility, and the option to bring a lot of crowd control.

Skill Bar

Axe/Axe
Greatsword
Utility

Weapon Variants

Never replace axe+axe as they're your highest damage weapons.
This build weapon swaps a lot to do more damage. If you don't like constantly swapping between weapons you can use mace+mace or mace+shield instead of greatsword, and stay on axe+axe to do damage, and only weapon swap when you need crowd control or defense.

  • Mace Mace + mace mace can replace greatsword to provide a lot of crowd control.
  • Shield Shield - defense and crowd control.
  • Longbow Longbow or Rifle Rifle - if you need a ranged option, but their damage is low.

Skill Variants

Healing skill

Mending is great with its high healing, low cooldown, and condition removal.

  • Defiant Stance - aggressive option that lets you facetank for a few seconds.

Utility skills

"For Great Justice!" is great for providing boons.
"Shake It Off!" is a good stunbreak and condition removal skill. Can be replaced by any other stunbreak.
Signet of Fury improves our critical chance. Don't use the active skill except to end a fight.
Other alternatives can be considered:

  • Signet of Might - passive damage.
  • Signet of Stamina - more dodges.
  • Stomp - physical skill that grants CC and mobility
  • Endure Pain - panic button.
  • Bull's Charge - great engage skill and crowd control.

Elite skill

Signet of Rage is good for swiftness or to compliment the boons from For Great Justice.

  • Battle Standard - longer duration of boons than Signet of Rage but also a longer cooldown.

A good build to use for all content. I believe that the line of tactics over arms is more profitable and makes you more alive. Great for those just starting out.

This build is a beast in open world. Handles itself easily in any core content and can even compete with some stronger roaming builds. Great build for a core spec.
