Hey I wont be playing GW2 anymore as the games directions is not what I was expecting. I love the game but the direction is not longer for me. So I will be leaving the wiki. I wish you all the best of luck in the wiki. I will come back every now and then to see whats up and if I can help I will. Again its just I dont like the new direction of the game. Its just they decided to say they wont be making pve content. And well thats all i cared about. I waiting almost a year for new content and got nothing so its just time for me to move on. --Josepepowner (talk) 02:26, 11 September 2014 (UTC)

Alright, thanks for letting me know and thanks for all the work you have put into this wiki!--Galaxian (talk) 10:57, 11 September 2014 (UTC)

New Message Here[edit]

Hey I wanted to know if it was possible to make a link in the front page thats something like newly created builds. Or something like that so people can see the newest builds.

I will see if I can find an extension and integrate it with the current layout over the coming days, will most likely be without internet tomorrow.--Galaxian (talk) 21:15, 4 August 2014 (UTC)
Well there is this page (, idk how helpful that is, it looks so bad to me Chase (talk) 22:11, 4 August 2014 (UTC)
What about this one: ? Looks like you can customize the layout, amount of pages to display from specific namespace and other things. Do you think that something like this would be useful/good looking at the frontpage?--Galaxian (talk) 22:16, 4 August 2014 (UTC)
I think that could work. It even has a namespace feature so we can focus it on the Builds section Chase (talk) 23:41, 4 August 2014 (UTC)

Admin Access[edit]

Hey muki, chase from reddit here. Was trying to modify some templates and they're locked out to me. I created new ones as a test and I think they work pretty well. Instead of having to re-edit previous one's was wondering if you thought about my admin application? Then I could just edit those base ones. Have fun over the weekend! Talk to you next week Chase (talk) 20:24, 26 July 2014 (UTC)

Also the main page is still outdated to what the user's want. They're asking for a single section for dungeons. Which I agree makes sense as you can always create a build stub for a unique dungeon if there is anything incredibly different from the baseline. Again I would've changed it myself, but no admin access ^_^ Cheers Chase (talk) 20:28, 26 July 2014 (UTC)
Where having a discussion about changing the main page hereMain Page/Builds. It's a pretty big change so we don't want to change it without talking about it first. I think we are close to having it settle though. --DantesS_P (talk) 16:51, 27 July 2014 (UTC)
I support Chase, he already made some great additions to the site. Giving him new tools in form of moderatorship could lift a huge weight off others' shoulders. Some of his suggestions would have a huge impact on making buids on this site so making a decision regarding his suggestions would be of high importance. On a sidenote Chase, there is a debate going on about the main page's categories so that's why no actions were taken in that regard. --Hanz (talk) 14:38, 27 July 2014 (UTC)
I will make sure to go through every change since saturday (when I lost my internet) and hopefully find your application. Was it posted here btw?--Galaxian (talk) 21:15, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
Hey, sorry I had no idea about the application. You just said you were going to think about admins, I forgot to follow up on that. Could you link me to the application please? Thank you! Chase (talk) 13:41, 29 July 2014 (UTC)
My bad sorry, see the PM that I sent to you over at Reddit.--Galaxian (talk) 16:53, 29 July 2014 (UTC)

Moved to community portal[edit]

Hey muki, felt like this wasn't the best place to discuss all the changes on the wiki as it is your talk page ;) I've moved it over to here and was hoping you could add a link to the side-bar navigation below Main Page (and above Recent Changes) that links to the "Community portal". Chase (talk) 15:30, 30 July 2014 (UTC)

PvP categories[edit]

Yes yes, discussed many times already, but now that the builds are out of trial it seems even more pointless. Both s/tPvP sections are exactly the same, merging them would happen anyways and as seen on reddit this just creates confusion. It should happen. --Hanz (talk) 18:23, 30 July 2014 (UTC)

Alright, I have been looking at the Reddit comments too. I will merge the sections into one called "Conquest", all of the builds will need editing so that they are added to the new category.--Galaxian (talk) 20:01, 30 July 2014 (UTC)
Ty, consider it done :) --Hanz (talk) 20:58, 30 July 2014 (UTC)

Forum reply[edit]

Hi, since i cannot use the forums but I've seen some concerns on the topic in which you've posted the site, the next time you visit that topic could you tell them a few things?

  • In general, there is no need to freak out about that someone edited their build drastically - they are rare and major changes should be discussed before they are made, otherwise the author can just request a rollback and we can do that with 1 click. I also wrote this to Olrun on the build's talk page, he should really use his watchlist/discussion pages for the builds he's uploading - also, Olrun, killshot war, NA gone that far? :P
  • We only posted the builds that would get at least to the "Good" category, that's why we have like 5-6 engineer builds but no turrets - while they are easy to play and it's certainly faceroll, every single engineer build outperforms it. In a teamfight turrets won't be up for more than 5 seconds and then the engi just becomes useless, and in a 1v1 a D/D ele or a warrior can just demolish it along with the engi. It's really easy to counter with many classes and we weren't confident that it would hit 4 stars.
  • To Exile.8160 - nobody said AH bunker's better, both AH and "Traditional" bunker are under the Great category - but AH happens to be the meta with the majority of the teams taking it over the other. AH has more self sustain especially vs Power specs while the "Traditional" has less healing but more condi cleansing + anti-CC. --Hanz (talk) 19:53, 1 August 2014 (UTC)
Done :)--Galaxian (talk) 23:12, 1 August 2014 (UTC)
Ty :P --Hanz (talk) 07:42, 2 August 2014 (UTC)

Please add this to the side bar as well[edit]

<"a" href="#">Top of the page/Back to the top/Page start/Page beginning</a> remove the quotes around the first a, mediawiki bans it otherwisefrom posting here...

or whatever words you want to use. trying to make it easier to get to a talk page on a long scroll down with the mouse. left side-bar nav should also scroll with the user, i think i'll get that to work with css Chase (talk) 16:50, 3 August 2014 (UTC)

Hey, I need access to jquery for my next project ^_^ How can we do this? Chase (talk) 00:55, 4 August 2014 (UTC)

Do you think that this will work: ?--Galaxian (talk) 10:22, 4 August 2014 (UTC)
ITS BEAUTIFUL! :D Can that be done?? Also gw2skills developer has finally gotten in touch with me. Perhaps we can talk abou the hover skills with them now and perhaps other ideas? Chase (talk) 14:29, 4 August 2014 (UTC)
Alright, I have added that code, could you see if it works? Also, feel free ask the gw2skills developer if they are willing to help out and what they can do for us.--Galaxian (talk) 14:41, 4 August 2014 (UTC)

Trash Template[edit]

Currently this doesn't exist but we will need one soon (for builds below 3.75 rating).--Hanz (talk) 06:51, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

I will create one as soon as I get back my Internet, will be without it for a few days though...--Galaxian (talk) 10:53, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

Rating-reset option[edit]

I think Dantes posted it somewhere a while ago but when you're back we will really need a way to reset ratings for a build (balance patch inc, we will have to put some builds back into testing for example). Also, ratings should be hidden once the build's out of Testing. Also, Chase made a template for Trashed builds so you don't have to do that :P --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 18:34, 19 August 2014 (UTC)

On PvX we used to have a separate tab (like Build Page + Talk page) for ratings. I can look into what it would take to implement another tab on pages in the build space here.--TV Thief Icon.jpgTahiriVeila (talk) 20:51, 19 August 2014 (UTC)
The problem is, it would be a bit hidden. At least on Testing people can just rate the build directly. And after it's out of Testing disabling the vote would encourage people to join the discussion page to voice out their concerns instead of just downvoting it silently in which case nobody will ever know why they did that. And if there are many people who agree on that the build no longer deserves its current place, we could just reset the rating and put it back to Testing. --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 08:06, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
I have removed the rating option for meta/gret/good builds, people can now only rate in the "Testing" phase. I will try to add a page where you can enter the build URL and choose whether you want to see each vote for a build or if you would like to reset it, only admins will be able to do that though. This will most likely get completed once I get home.--Galaxian (talk) 11:54, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
Great, ty :P--Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 12:09, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
Would be nice to still see the ratings/how many votes were cast but leave them locked if possible. Chase (talk) 16:46, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
That can be done, there are "magic words" for that extension:
{{NUMBEROFVOTES}}: Returns the entire number of votes on the wiki. {{NUMBEROFVOTESPAGE}}: Returns the vote score on the current page. {{NUMBEROFVOTESPAGE:<page>}}: Returns the vote score on the given page.
But, is that really needed since we display the meta/great/good boxes which pretty much tells it's rating?--Galaxian (talk) 19:32, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
Yes in my opinion, because there are some builds one might want to compare in meta. Like if one build got 5 people voting straight 5s or if another build had 4 5's and 1 3. Kinda gives an idea (obviously would be better if we had more voters). Chase (talk) 21:39, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
Alright, I will focus on other things now since I have short internet access here. I will see if I can add this once I get home if I don't forget :)--Galaxian (talk) 19:47, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

Official Forum[edit]

Just wanna say, careful with that one. Bunch of hypocrite vultures. They find 1 thing they don't agree with out of the skills/traits/sigils/runes of ~40 PvP builds and then say the site is terribad. Not to mention most of their concerns are just invalid. The guy complaining about Axe/Focus for power nec is just.. lol. That is the most widespread power nec set for PvP. Then we got Olrun who plays the marty because he doesn't know the voting rules of the site and can't accept that killshot war is not a good build - it got Trashed after reaching 5 votes and 1.2 stars. Not like he ever joined his builds' discussion page to have an objection. Then we have ArrDee (aka Vee) who can't face that his build is not meta and that we won't give him special treatment - as soon as he uploaded his build he skipped testing and everything and just moved it up to Meta. We reverted it, he kept doing it. Then he deleted the engi meta build and replaced it with his own, keeping the rating and blanked the page of the build we moved back to testing, posting nothing but his twitch link on that page. We reverted it, he kept doing it and then shittalked on the talk pages so I've banned him. Now he's butthurt and demands that we remove "his build" - which he did not create but demands credit for it. Well as he did not wish to be associated with the site, I've sent him an in-game mail that we won't remove builds but we can remove him from the streamer list if he really no longer wishes to be associated with the site. He did not reply but kept demanding it on the forum so I've removed him from the list because that's all we can do. He found 1 sigil that was not the most optimal one (and we changed it immediately), and still speaks of it like it's still there. Our meta builds are based on ToL and ESL weekly winner teams' builds and try to cover optional things as variants - if anyone on the forum plays a variant of the main build (which is usually listed below the build) comes to the conclusion that the site is useless. Gotta love them :P

Not to mention none of them gets what "community project" means. Instead of being hypocrites on the forum, they could just contribute if they find a mistake - would even take less time than forum posting. I'd say stay away from the forum and aim for reddit and tournament organizers for advertisement. --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 07:36, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

I understand you, it's all good. There are 3 haters on the forum that won't do any harm to the website. I should also mention that the daily visitors to the website has increased with 700 over 2 weeks to a steady 2200 daily visitors. Not to mention that we are slowly moving towards the top on Google, we are already on the first page for different keywords.
EDIT: The tournament organizers idea is great, I will see if I can get in touch with them. Do you have any idea on where to look besides the forums and Reddit?--Galaxian (talk) 09:50, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

Copyright suggestion from reddit[edit]

Link. Might be a good idea to implement, if you get the chance. Also, Copyrights is linked to in every editor window, but the page does not exist yet.--TV Thief Icon.jpgTahiriVeila (talk) 16:05, 4 September 2014 (UTC)

Added the suggested message to the footer. I am also aware that Copyrights doesn't exist, will be created whenever I have time, been priorotizing other stuff that needs to be done here :/--Galaxian (talk) 16:33, 4 September 2014 (UTC)

Idk how to reset votes >_<[edit]

On this Elementalist - WvW Staff. I re-did it drastically. Hopefully it responds well to a new voter set. « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 16:41, 4 September 2014 (UTC)

There is no option for that, yet. I can however remove all of the votes, would you like me to do that? There is no going back once I proceed.--Galaxian (talk) 16:49, 4 September 2014 (UTC)
I think that's fair. Dantes was asking for it as well on the talk page. « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 16:51, 4 September 2014 (UTC)
Alright, done.--Galaxian (talk) 16:54, 4 September 2014 (UTC)

New Spambot Filter[edit]

Toraen being the Wiki badass that he is sent me a Abuse filter to try and stop all those Spambots we've been getting. So I've added it and hopefully it works well enough to stop the majority of them. --Human icon.png Dantes (talk) 21:16, 9 September 2014 (UTC)

Great, hope that this blocks them. Thanks for the filter Toraen!--Galaxian (talk) 21:51, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
Easier solution - deny account creation if the account name ends with a 3 or 4 digit number. --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 12:58, 11 September 2014 (UTC)
I came here to point out the same pattern. Each spammer has ended in a 3 digit number from what I've seen so far. Not to say it will stop all spammers, there may be some with 2 digits too, idk. But there really isn't a need to have 3 numbers at the end of your account on our wiki, there's like no users lol « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 04:34, 12 September 2014 (UTC)

Your signature's "Talk" link directs to Dantes' talk page. You might wanna change that :D --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 12:10, 16 October 2014 (UTC)

Format changes[edit]

I really preferred the "" symbol's usage. The arrow symbol made it very clear you change the left one to the right one, so for those without English as their main language it promotes a very simple L:R exchange. In addition it's usage often saves characters, making such information more concise (and in my opinion easier to read). May I ask why you changed this structure? « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 23:50, 4 February 2015 (UTC)

Decided to change the format since builds were mixing between "over" and "", I personally found it confusing. "Over" was used more frequently so I decided to stick with that. I don't mind changing to "" as long as only one format is used.-- Galaxian (talk) 02:07, 5 February 2015 (UTC)
My only problem with "" is that people get confused about it. I've seen builds where on the left side people put what they want to change and on the right side what they want to change for, then in another build it's reversed. I've even seen a build where it was mixed - an example of what I mean: in the first part
Healing Signet Healing Signet
Healing Signet
Signet Passive: Regenerate health.
Signet Active: Heal yourself, and grant yourself resistance.
Heal.pngHealing: 2,320
Healing Signet.pngHealing Signet: 362 Heal
Resistance.pngResistance (6s): Conditions currently on you are ineffective; stacks duration.
Radius.pngInterval: 1 second
Healing Surge Healing Surge
Healing Surge
Heal yourself and regain adrenaline. Heal amount is based on your current adrenaline level.
Heal.pngStage 0 Health: 5,885
Heal.pngStage 1 Health: 6,540
Heal.pngStage 2 Health: 8,180
Heal.pngStage 3 Health: 9,820
Attribute bonus.pngAdrenaline: 30
meant that one can replace Signet with Surge and then in the sigil part Sigil of battle Doom meant that one can raplace Doom with Battle. TL;DR it's not very obvious in some cases. I'm currently using "" for rotations. --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 07:56, 5 February 2015 (UTC)
Hanz, I think the sigil thing happens when someone changes the main bar and fails to update the variants -- I've seen that a couple times too. Let's use the {{to}} template and we can change the symbol etc for all of them if need be later. I'll help you make the changes, Galaxian! We really do need to sit down and finish the "formatting" guide which would help I think « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 12:40, 5 February 2015 (UTC)
K, tbh I dislike this idea. Kind of destroys the text/image balance for me. --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 12:54, 5 February 2015 (UTC)
Very often it is being used for two links with images attached to each. What about a different arrow symbol? Or perhaps a tab system, like you list the thing to be changed, then list variants as bullet points below it. Here are some arrow examples that we can switch it to: ➔ ➜ ➙ ➤ and a graphical example where we take the very bottom arrow and tweak it a bit. The bullet point system is a variant such as this:

Optional.png Healing Skill:

  • Hide in Shadows Hide in Shadows
    Hide in Shadows
Deception. Vanish in stealth and gain regeneration. Cures burning, poison and bleeding.
    Heal.pngHealing: 5,240
    Stealth.pngStealth (3s): Invisible to foes.
    Regeneration.pngRegen (4s): 520 Heal
  • Withdraw Withdraw
Trick. Roll backward while healing and evade attacks. Cures immobilization, chill, and crippling.
    Heal.pngHealing: 4,344
    Book.pngEvade: 0.75 seconds
Shadowstep Shadowstep
Deception. Shadowstep to target area. Becomes Shadow Return which returns you to your starting area and cures three conditions.
Stun-Break.pngBreaks stun
Range.pngRange: 1,200

  • Roll for Initiative Roll for Initiative
    Roll for Initiative
Trick. Evade backward to regenerate initiative and recover from crippled, chilled, and immobilize.
    Book.pngInitiative Gain: 6
    Book.pngEvade: 0.75 seconds
    Stun-Break.pngBreaks stun
  • Infiltrator's Signet Infiltrator's Signet
    Infiltrator's Signet
Signet Passive: Regenerate one extra initiative every ten seconds.
Signet Active: Shadowstep to your foe.
    Book.pngInitiative Gain every 10 seconds: 1
    Stun-Break.pngBreaks stun
    Range.pngRange: 900

« Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 15:49, 5 February 2015 (UTC)

A third idea has occured to me. Where we list it in a table using a template. Left side shows what can be switched, right side shows what the left box can be switched into. Variants table! « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 15:51, 5 February 2015 (UTC)

I think that we should use the suggested bullet point system if there are multiple options and one of the following (or other) swap icon Arrows.png if there is only one variant. The terms "over" or "instead of" should be used in text, e.g. in the "Usage" section. The last suggestion, variants table, could be good but I can't come up with a design that would fit in.-- Galaxian (talk) 23:23, 5 February 2015 (UTC)

Is there a way to check who voted for a build, and if some of the voters share the same IP? --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 10:44, 7 April 2015 (UTC)

If I remember correctly you could see the latest user votes somehow. There are currently 2 special pages for the voting extension, ShowVotes and TopRatings which I have no idea why they even exist. I could maybe try to code a feature so that admins can see all votes for a specific build but that would be kinda useless since Chase is working on the new voting system with another guy. Btw, is there something specific that you would like to check, I could do that for you directly in the database?-- Galaxian (talk) 21:37, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
The ones I'd like to know about are: Elementalist - Ember Hybrid Signet D/F, Mesmer - Phantasm DPS, Mesmer - Condi Shatter. These are all bad/mediocre at best yet they all got tons of 5 star votes in a short amount of time. Out of 8 votes for the hybrid ele, I'm the only one who did not give it a 5 while it's weaker than any of the ele builds we have. --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 12:18, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
Here is a quick overview in the DB:
I don't actually recall giving condi shatter 5. I thought i gave it a 4 O_o I assum on first one that CyFreeze, Zuko, and Arza are fromt he guild of GCNS or whatever. On third one you can see Poly and Polycrates have similar names and ip addresses (but different scores? LOL). Clearly work is needing to be done. « Chase ♥ ♥ ♥ » 14:54, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
Ty :P Sad part is, people only know 2 ratings: 5 and 1 - like and do not like. I often don't want to give 1 star to a build, rather a 2-3, but if i do then literally every build passes testing. Btw most of those accounts made 0 edits so far. Oh god I really don't want official forum people to be our voter base, they need to stay in their pit called "profession forum" perfecting the art of trap PP clerics thief. --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 15:27, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

Hey looking to help[edit]

Former theorycrafter for I go by midna and I used to craft builds a lot but haven't done much in a long time crafting wise but I'd love to get back into the game and lend a hand where possible. I'd love to aid in testing or so on and so forth for the site. If you'd like the assistance feel free to message me.

Welcome to the website :) Familiarize yourself with the wiki script by reading the tutorials posted on your discussion page. You are then free to create/edit pages, huge changes on build articles should be discussed first though. Each section (PvE/WvW/PvP) got 2 starting categories, one is "Draft" where builds are crafted and the other one is "Test" where you are supposed to rate the build. Feel free to take a look around and try editing :) Don't hesitate to ask for help whenever you need it.-- Galaxian (talk) 02:01, 14 May 2015 (UTC)

can u chage the title to Grenade / Elixir instead of Rifle /Elixir ?

that would be rly nice^^

and ty again

Np, I will let Hanz do that since I haven't been moving pages in ages and might fck up ^^ -- Galaxian (talk) 16:07, 27 June 2015 (UTC)

Soo how can votes be restored on a page? :P --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 11:51, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

It needs to be done manually in the database atm. I will add an option so that admins can do it directly via the rating tab when I get some free time for it :) I have also restored votes for the page that you moved.-- Galaxian (talk) 14:13, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

About admin rights[edit]

Howdy, Galaxian! So, I know you probably gave me admin powers so it didn't come in my way in the process of SMW-fying the wiki, and this really helped (that captcha really slows me down hehe). However, I've never been an admin in any wiki. I've always contributed being a regular user, so while I do understand a bit about programming and wiking, I just don't know anything about administration or anything other than what a regular user can do. This is why sometimes I ask you or another admin to kindly set some configurations. You know, I don't even know how I set them myself, all I know is how to create stuff "in-wiki". This is just a clarification in case you might think I'm being lazy about what I'm trying to accomplish (I ask for a lot of help!). ^^ Valento (talk) 13:27, 11 November 2015 (UTC)

I gave you the the admin rights so that you could move a page that only admins could move if I remember correctly. From there I just left the rights in case you need to do other edits on the wiki without wasting time waiting for an admin to do something that a regular user can't do. I know that you didn't ask for the admin rights but it saves a lot of time since you don't need to wait for us and btw, nobody thinks htat you are lazy :D Feel free to ask whenever you need help, especially the backend wiki stuff since you don't have access to that. -- Galaxian (talk) 13:52, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
Ok, thank you. I'd like to take the opportunity and point this request, as it's blocking me from testing skill stuff. hehe Valento (talk) 16:16, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
Shit, I missed your reply again -.- Skill namespace should work now, is there something else that I might have missed? :D -- Galaxian (talk) 16:40, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
It's fine now, I will try and do some testing if time allows me. Thanks! Valento (talk) 18:37, 11 November 2015 (UTC)

Purge button[edit]

Hey! Some time ago I asked for a Purge button here and Chase kindly created an option on the sidebar. While it worked for the most part, it breaks in pages with names containing special characters (eg. Reaper's Might). I wanted to have something like Official Wiki (to the left of username), but don't need to display UTC time or anything like that, just the name "Purge" with a way to purge any page even containing special characters. If you could add another link there it would be pretty useful. It should default to {{FULLPAGENAME}}, or in PHP terms simply the url plus "?action=purge". Purging is needed to clear SMW cache to update data or else things take a bit on the queue to appear updated.

Another thing: I uploaded all mesmer trait icons! I saw you were filling up those pages so I went ahead and helped so you could see them pwetty icons.

If you could look into the purge button/link it would be much appreciated (the way I do now is by typing "?action=purge" for every page to update the tooltip). Chase helped me with 98% of the pages, but there are those pesky 2%. :P Valento (talk) 18:34, 24 November 2015 (UTC)

Actually, a null edit (hit Edit, then just save the page) solves the issue, but a purge button is quicker so I can become a little more productive. Valento (talk) 18:38, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
If I could only figure out how to add stuff to the personal toolbar :/ It's so hard to navigate through the wiki files and finding what you really need, such as the toolbar in this case. The "Rating" tab was also pain in the ass and Chase had to add it using javascript in the end. I just tried with an extension but it looked weird and somehow the website got really slow while the extension was activated. I will however continue looking for solutions. Also, thanks for uploading the images :) -- Galaxian (talk) 20:08, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the effort! Also... remember the DismissableSiteNotice extension you've installed? There was a dismiss button, and now it's suddenly gone. Do you know what caused that? >.< Valento (talk) 20:17, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
My bad, sorry. It should be back now.-- Galaxian (talk) 20:25, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
My precious dismiss button, thanks! :D Valento (talk) 20:26, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
Could you please check and see if it works, I somehow managed to add it.-- Galaxian (talk) 21:20, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
It's back, now. Thank you! Valento (talk) 23:04, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
Should we remove purge from the sidebar?-- Galaxian (talk) 23:23, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
Leave it there. It's still very helpful. Valento (talk) 00:39, 25 November 2015 (UTC)

(reset ident) Thanks for the new purge link up above! It's really nice and works with titles containing special characters (example). Yay! Valento (talk) 12:13, 27 November 2015 (UTC)

Np, glad that it's working on all pages :) -- Galaxian (talk) 14:23, 27 November 2015 (UTC)

Custom JS[edit]

Could you please enable the editmyuserjs permission for administrators? AllowUserJs looks to be disabled by now, you should leave it as is but set a custom user right to allow only admins to edit self user js pages (group permissions override global permissions). (you know, security risks...) Valento (talk) 13:53, 26 November 2015 (UTC)

I'm asking this because I want to speed up some things as I upload images or create pages. Valento (talk) 13:54, 26 November 2015 (UTC)
Could you please take a look and see if it works?-- Galaxian (talk) 17:02, 26 November 2015 (UTC)
Apparently no. Valento (talk) 18:12, 26 November 2015 (UTC)
Hmm, am I supposed to to something else besides adding the following permission: $wgGroupPermissions['sysop']['editmyuserjs'] = true; ?
Apparently it is enabled... I'll have to go after what is missing. Valento (talk) 10:48, 27 November 2015 (UTC)
I couldn't find the reason... I have a feeling it's more tied to the backend. Did you try setting $wgAllowUserJs to true? Valento (talk) 11:21, 27 November 2015 (UTC)
$wgAllowUserJs is set to true :/ -- Galaxian (talk) 14:21, 27 November 2015 (UTC)

(reset indent) Ah... no problem, then. ^^ Valento (talk) 17:00, 27 November 2015 (UTC)

Rating formula[edit]

What is the formula for deciding the rating for a build? For example: three people give good, two give bad. How do you go about the rating? What are the input values for the formula and how does it work? --Valento (talk) 10:55, 9 December 2015 (UTC)

Great gives 1 point, good gives 0.8, bad gives 0 and then you divide that sum with the amount of voters.-- Galaxian (talk) 15:50, 9 December 2015 (UTC)

Build namespace to generate SMW annotations[edit]

Could you add "Build" namespace to this setting too? Like you did for Template, Skill, and Trait. It's time to step ahead. I've had a very constructive talk with Hanz, you may join us if you wish. :D LordShuckle (talk) 12:58, 10 December 2015 (UTC)

Added. I have seen your discussion, seems like you got everything figured out already :D -- Galaxian (talk) 19:52, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
If you can please add "Team" namespace to that SMW setting, and while you're at it create a "Guide" namespace and add it to the same SMW setting.
On a separate note, I haven't verified how much processing power SMW sucks from the server, but it might require some server power in the future. Official Wiki runs fine with SMW so I'm not sure if things will slow down here, but I hope it doesn't. Just a heads-up in case things start to load a bit slower. --Valento (talk) 19:57, 18 December 2015 (UTC)
Added both namespaces to the SMW settings. "Guide" namespace already exists though, is it not working properly?--GalaxianBot (talk) 02:34, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
Bump, posted from wrong acc.-- Galaxian (talk) 02:40, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
Oh noice, we didn't know it existed! Thank you. :D Valento (talk) 02:44, 19 December 2015 (UTC)

I need a hook[edit]

Hey, I need a hook, and it's not for fishing! I saw you have this interesting page. I don't know how difficult is it, but could you create a hook for me that retrieves this score given the input pagename? For example, we have a {{#switch}} parsing word that creates a... switch. Could you create something like a {{#buildrating:PAGENAME}}? LordShuckle (talk) 17:38, 11 December 2015 (UTC)

Hmm, that is the old rating system that we had. It was not created by us nor could you add a rating comment and was pretty much based on the given stars. I could take a look into hooks and see if I can create custom one (never done that before, is it even possible?) that returns rating for a specific pagename using our new system if that is what you are trying to accomplish? Btw, do you have any idea on how to retrieve page content without header/footer/sidebar besides viewing the printable page version?-- Galaxian (talk) 19:05, 11 December 2015 (UTC)
There's an API. It offers a query option and if I'm not wrong there's a way to retrieve only the content page wikitext. It's been a while since I last touched it. --LordShuckle (talk) 20:01, 11 December 2015 (UTC)
Sample query on this wiki. Official documentation. ^^ --LordShuckle (talk) 20:17, 11 December 2015 (UTC)
About hooks, check here. --LordShuckle (talk) 20:19, 11 December 2015 (UTC)
Will take a look at hooks later tonight, hopefully. I edited the print css so that I can just stick with printable pages instead of using the API :D Experimenting with splitting up the website into a front and backend version ^^-- Galaxian (talk) 16:46, 12 December 2015 (UTC)

Hi, could you "refresh" the main page so that the recent template change reverts i did would take effect asap? Kinda fucked up a bit D: --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 20:54, 17 December 2015 (UTC)

Nvm, Chase solved it. --Necromancer Icon Color.pngHanz(talk) 22:04, 17 December 2015 (UTC)

Does making an active GvG guild leader the admin and curator for the WvW/GvG sections of MetaBattle not seem incredibly screwed up or what? The person in that position should be someone who objectively wants to keep the site updated with most effective builds, not someone who theoretically stands to gain from posting passable builds but retaining a separate set of more optimal builds for his own usage.

Giving control of the flow of information to someone in this way is laughable. Please reconsider it.
