Overview

A simple scrapper build with very high defense thanks to its barrier generation from Impact Savant. This build provides permanent Quickness Quickness to itself and nearby allies, some Might Might, permanent personal Fury Fury, and has access to extremely high utility and Crowd Control.

Scrapper has a very unique way of providing Quickness Quickness. Kinetic Accelerators provides Quickness Quickness and Might Might in an area around you whenever you make a blast or leap combo finisher (See: Guide:What are Combo Fields).

Weapon variants

We recommend to always use hammer, which has a double leap finisher on Rocket Charge for Quickness Quickness generation. If you need range, you can simply use Elite Mortar Kit.

Skill Variants

Heal

The choice of heal skill is very open. We recommend Healing Turret as it is simple to use, provides very high healing, and cleanses 2 conditions when first deployed while creating a water field where you can detonate the turret to provide even more healing and Quickness (See: Guide:What are Combo Fields). Always pick up the turret or detonate it, as it will provide more healing over time than the super weak regeneration that leaving the turret deployed provides. Other options can be considered:

  • Med Kit provides a blast finisher with Infusion Bomb to generate more Quickness Quickness, condition cleanse and water field with Cleansing Field, and good healing with the toolbelt skill Bandage Self (Bandage Self counts as "using your heal skill" for all purposes such as Speed of Synergy).
  • A.E.D. - helpful to negate a big attack or a oneshot, but poor healing if it doesn't, and has a helpful 2 second stun on the toolbelt skill Static Shock. Does not have access to combo finishers for quickness generation.

Blast Gyro has good damage but, most importantly, creates a fire field and a blast finisher which helps provide Quickness Quickness and some Might Might. Should not be replaced unless really needed.
Shredder Gyro provides great damage, can be replaced if needed.

  • Grenade Kit - great damage from the toolbelt skill Grenade Barrage and the grenades from the kit.
  • Purge Gyro - for condi cleanse
  • Rocket Boots - mobility
  • Personal Battering Ram - more crowd control
  • Elixir C - massive condition removal
  • Elixir U - offensive boons

Elite

The elite skill is not particularly impactful in this build. Elite Mortar Kit provides easy access to combo fields for Quickness Quickness generation, including a water field for minor extra healing, but you can consider other options.

  • Supply Crate - area CC; can be detonated for blast finishers.
  • Sneak Gyro - long duration mobile stealth field which can be used to avoid mob aggro in various situations.

  • System Shocker - more barrier but less mobility, and less damage from Object in Motion.

Relic
  • This is the same gear set used by power mechanist and power holosmith. If you only play scrapper, you can change the runes to Rune of Superior Rune of the Dragonhunter and all trinkets to Dragon stats Dragon stats (except one accesory and the amulet which remain Berserker) for a ridiculously low damage increase of less than 3%.
  • You can use Relic of Zakiros to trade a minor amount of damage for sustain, Relic of the Cavalier to start combat with boons, or Relic of Durability for a little extra defense.
  • For defense, equip the highest tier Jade Core you can afford. Use defensive food, traits, or skills if required. If necessary, use Knight Knight trinkets.

Usage

General

  • Use leap and blast finishers on combo fields for Quickness Quickness and Might Might generation from Kinetic Accelerators. See Guide:What are Combo Fields.
    • Your main Finishers are Rocket Charge, Blast Gyro and Throw Mine, use them on a combo field such as Thunderclap, or fields from nearby allies.
  • After generating quickess and might, continue dealing damage with Electro-whirl, Shredder Gyro and fill with hammer basic attacks.
  • Don't interrupt your hammer auto-attack chain, the final hit deals significantly higher damage.
  • Having superspeed superspeed is a damage increase due to Object in Motion, you can grant yourself superspeed superspeed via Bypass Coating, Gyroscopic Acceleration, and Speed of Synergy.
  • Always stay in melee range to benefit from High Caliber.

Defense

  • You generate lots of barrier due to Impact Savant.
  • Shock Shield is both a block and gives you barrier, it can be used to generate barrier while blocking a high damage attack.
  • You can use Elite Mortar Kit's Elixir Shell to create a water field then use blast or leap finishers on it to receive a bit of healing. Or use Flash Shell to blind trash mobs.

CC

  • Rocket Charge inside a lightning field.
  • Thunderclap doubles as both a lightning field and a hard CC option.
  • Blast Gyro.

As of the June 27 Patch I consider Power Scrapper to be one of the strongest open world builds in the game due to its ease of providing permanent quickness, high burst damage, and very high DPS for a solo build. Scrapper itself is in a fantastic spot right now and is incredibly self-sufficient. I strongly recommend anyone interested in Engineer to invest some time trying this build.
