* Turn off "Melee Attack Assist" in Options. This allows you to use {{Skill|Whirling Wrath}} and {{Skill|Binding Blade}} inside an enemy's hitbox so that all projectiles hit your target.
* This build strongly benefits from increasing the total number of hits within the rotation due to Willbender's Master-Tier traits, and this is doubly true if playing in groups and using {{Trait|Restorative Virtues}}.
+
* Make sure to hit enemies with your symbols to gain stacks of {{Trait|Symbolic Avenger}} and inflict vulnerability from {{Trait|Symbolic Exposure}}.
* Maintaining high symbol uptime to increase ticking hits/damage and vuln is critical.
+
* Maintain uptime on {{Trait|Inspiring Virtue}} with Virtues. Prioritise {{Skill|Rushing Justice}} to gain boons from {{Trait|Holy Reckoning}}.
* Stay inside the enemy hitbox for {{Skill|Whirling Wrath}} and {{Skill|Binding Blade}}.
+
* Use {{Skill|Sword of Justice}} at the start to apply vulnerability, and then periodically throughout the fight instead of autoattacks.
 +
* Make sure to use {{Skill|Symbol of Luminance}} first to empower your other spear skills with {{Tooltip|Illuminated}}.

I switched to this build coming from a DH and I can say WB is so awesome. More survivabilty and movement compared to DH without sacrificing the damage. This build has it all to survive in open world. Mobility, damage, cleansing, cc, stab, this is the best Guardian build for Open World.

Arkevorkhat gave this build 4 stars • August 2023
Generally very solid in its category. Good solo survivability with Flowing Resolve while providing sufficient DPS to handle most normal circumstances. This won't be soloing champions in most peoples' hands, but it's a great place for the average player to be with a simple and easy to execute rotation.

Power Willbender is one of the highest DPS power builds in the game right now when played solo. Combined with excellent sustain, powerful defensive buffs, and a hyper-versatile toolkit, it is one of the strongest power builds in the game for open world right now.
