Daredevil - A/P Upper Hand Outnumbered Roamer

This is a rough draft. Once adequately written, it will progress to the testing stage, where it can be rated by the community. You can help by proposing changes with a comment.

Focused on: Condition damage and Sustain

Designed for: WvW Roaming

Difficulty:
Normal
This build was last updated on May 01, 2024.

Overview

Hi its Night. This is a outnumbered roaming build focused on surviving outside of stealth to actually absorb pressure instead of waiting in stealth looking for burst while your team absorbs all aggro. It works around the Upper Hand trait restoring initiative, and initiative spending dodges refunding themselves and applying condis with relic of mirage, Deadly Ambition, and sigil of torment. The idea of this build is that the evades themselves deal passive and meaningful damage to multiple targets.

Specialization Variants

Lotus Training Bounding Dodger less constant pressure but more burst and survivability, good with lots of other weapons if you drop dagger.

Lotus Training Unhindered Combatant Viable too, loss of damage but great in certain situations, depends on weapon choice alot.

Consumables

Usage

General

  • Focus on chaining dodges and letting the damage come from your evades with dual skills. Upper Hand Restores 1 initiative on dodge and one on evade on a 4 second cooldown each respectively.
  • When on axe. keep chaining dodges and whenever you can weave in an auto or axe 2 "Venemous Volley". Axe immobilizes if 5 or more axes hit so if they do, capitalize by closing the distance and pressuring.
  • It is best to start on axe and set up axes on the ground as you walk in to the fight.
  • IF ITS HOT after you come out of a any sort of evade, a preemptive utility skill usage will benefit you greatly, simply spam it as you are coming out of evade.
  • It is best to spend initiative on dodges first so that when you use your regular dodge it replenishes initiative and doesnt cap out.
  • For mobility, spam heartseeker and if u need initiative, do a repeated dodge heartseeker combo as each dodge restores iniative with Upper Hand.
  • If immobilized, try and use a dagger 3 since it will give resistance due to being a movement skill.
  • If condi bombed, use your actual dodge repeatedly and heal.
  • The reason for axe pistol instead of axe dagger is that you cannot evade while kiting on dagger and the damage isnt that much different for a huge increase in playmaking.
  • The back is cele because it is efficient and helps us get at least one crit off per weapon swap.
  • The sigil of torment is better than doom because doom will try to apply on next attack which may get defended against, but sigil of torment only procs on crit, making it more reliable. It is also aoe.
  • If using bounding dodger, a good combo is black powder, venemous volley, dodge for stealth, stealth attack, orchestrated assault.
  • If using pistol/x instead of dagger/dagger, use body shot to immobilize frequently, and combo your other skills.

Overall Priorities

High
  • Point 1 Death Blossom
  • Point 2 Orchestrated Assault
  • Point 3 Dodge
Moderate
  • Point 1 Steal
  • Point 2 energy sigil
  • Point 3 venemous volley
Low
  • Point 1 Head shot
  • Point 2
  • Point 3

Surviving

  • This build has moderate/high passive defense
  • This build has moderate/high mobility skill access
  • This builds has high active defenses

Tips & Tricks

  • Point 1 If they arent pressuring you, stay on axe until they start
  • Point 2 Death Blossom does literal burst, no need to stop defending

I wouldnt be surprised if this ends up everywhere, perfect for max, mid, or even skill. Also potentially good for Low Intensity. Let me know how you altered it to fit your needs.
