Renegade - Condi DPS
The community gave this build a rating, making it top-tier: Great
Focused on: Condition damage
Designed for: Raids and Fractals
Overview
The condition DPS Renegade build for raids. This build has a difficult rotation which requires lots of practice to perform well with. In exchange for the difficulty it brings high sustained damage, high Vulnerability, and options for good CC and supportive auras such as and .
Skill Bar
Weapon Variants
Currently Spear is so strong that you never want to swap off it. The second Spear is there to allow you to benefit from on-swap sigils, but it could be switched out for a utility option such as Shortbow or even Staff for CC (getting stuck on Staff would be a massive DPS loss though).
For players that don't own Janthir Wilds, the best weapons are Mace/Axe and Shortbow.

Non-SotO relics
Unfortunately none of the core damage relics are particularly strong for condi renegade. You could pick an option that offers some utility instead, or:
- On Mace/Axe & Shortbow the rotation uses almost exactly every 30s, so wouldn't be completely terrible.
- You should use (or ascended versions) with this.
could work on Mace/Axe & Shortbow if you switch the pairings of legends and weapons, so that you can build stacks up in with , and in .

Usage
Rotation Fundamentals
Every ability a Revenant has (apart from autoattacks) uses energy. While this regenerates slowly on its own, you will typically spend more that you can regain so swapping legend is necessary. Swapping legend resets energy to 50 (or 75 if you swapped below 10 energy and are using
) so in general you will want to do this off cooldown so you can afford to keep using your skills. For condi Renegade, you combine your legend swaps with weapon swaps to better spend energy and as legend swaps will also trigger weapon swaps, you can "double dip" on swap sigils (
and ) by legend swapping before you weapon swap.
You cannot avoid really legend swapping on Revenant, but things can be simplified in two ways:
First, by taking
as the grandmaster trait in Invocation, you no longer have to worry about swapping only below 10 energy.Second, you can opt to camp Shortbow. This is the higher damage weapon and also has the advantage of being ranged and not locking you into animations.
With this setup, use shortbow skills 2-4 off cooldown, and legend swap off cooldown as well.
- When swapping to , you will have enough energy to use and once each - the timing isn't very important, just don't delay the next legend swap.
- When swapping to , immediately activate and leave it running - this pulses damage in a small area around you, so if you cannot be close to your target, stay in .
The next step will be to add in weapon swapping, but keeping
as the grandmaster trait in Invocation. The fundamental ideas are the same, but shortly after legend swapping, you should also weapon swap. With only 50 energy to spend in each legend, it is better to pair Shortbow with
and Mace/Axe with . In comparison to the full rotation, this also has the convenient effect of pairing the ranged weapon with legend skills that can be used at range. You can also swap the positions of the with the on your weapons - this will ensure that all your melee damage is on the same set, and also allow you to remain in if you are forced to be at range for an extended period of time.Be aware that the pairing of legends and weapons is the other way around in the full rotation, so you may develop muscle memory that you then have to unlearn if you move on to the full rotation later.
Opener
Start on and Shortbow
Rest of the Rotation
- When swapping to , immediately activate and leave it running - this pulses damage in a small area around you, so if you cannot be close to your target, stay in .
- On Mace/Axe, use skills 2, 3 and 5 off cooldown.
- When swapping to , you will have enough energy to use and once each - make sure to cast first so that it enhances , but otherwise the timing isn't very important, just don't delay the next legend swap.
- On Shortbow, use skills 2-4 off cooldown.
Spear Rotation
The concept of Spear is rather simple. All your Spear skills reduce the cooldown of
, which in turn is your most powerful ability. The gist of the rotation is then to spam
and , while fitting in other high-damage skills with your remaining energy and legend swapping when you get below 10 to trigger .While
is useful for energy use and the cooldown reduction, it is a DPS loss to cast and could be skipped on Kalla if you're close enough to phasing the boss.If using two spears, start on the set with
and . If not using, just ignore any weapon swaps.

Mallyx
The pulsing damage of is boosted when a skill is used, though this effect can only be activated once per pulse. Due to the extremely low cooldown of , this can be triggered four times. A single autoattack is added after key skills to ensure that no pulses are wasted. This requires precision to avoid either cancelling , so if it may work out better to just use abilities as fast as you can.
consumes ~65 of your total energy on the weapon. This leaves you with enough energy to use the following:
- twice
- once
- once
- four times
Once you get below 10 energy swap to
then weapon swap immediately after .
Kalla
Immediately after swapping, use followed by . You want to get a second use of in before swapping back to . As you want to be very aggressive with while in Mallyx, you use it less here, and should aim for the following:
- once
- twice
- once
- once
Once you use the second time (and assuming you're below 10 energy), swap to then weapon swap immediately after .
Mace/Axe & Shortbow Rotation
The full rotation is heavily optimised to ensure that you end up below 10 energy just as it is time to legend swap, to gain the extra 25 energy each swap from Quickness and Alacrity uptime.
. This means the rotation needs to be performed well, as well as being very dependent on good

- - make sure to cast this first, so that it enhances Razorclaw's Rage
Mallyx
The stronger effect of can only be activated once per pulse, so a single autoattack is added after key skills to ensure that no pulses are wasted. This requires precision to avoid either cancelling or delaying your legend swap, so it may be better in practise not to worry about it.

- - it is efficient to get a single auto in here, but don't worry too much about it

General Tips
- While in Mace/Axe, try to let your Auto Attack chain finish, as the last hits are very strong.
- On most fights, there are going to be moments when you can't hit the boss, but you'll still gain energy. During these phases, use and to help keep boons up.
- If running , replace with .
