Overview

A condition DPS Mirage build that also provides permanent Alacrity Alacrity and a bit of Might Might and Fury Fury by spamming ambush skills and shatters.

It excels against bosses that attack a lot due to a large portion of its damage coming from Confusion Confusion. It is also highly survivable and can easily avoid boss attacks because it is in Mirage Cloak for most of its rotation. Also incidentally small amounts of Aegis Aegis, Resolution Resolution and Swiftness Swiftness to party members through Chaos Storm.

Weapon Variants

  • You can run Staff in both sets for a greatly simplified rotation, but at a significant DPS loss.
  • Running a Focus instead of a Torch generates more Confusion Confusion if you're able to consistently get the Phantasmal Warden to combo with an ethereal or smoke field. The phantasm will not prioritise your own fields however, so this may be ineffective if your group is dropping a lot of "bad" combo fields (such as light or water fields).

Skill Variants

  • Feedback over Signet of Domination if you need reflects.

Specializations

Trait Variants

  • If you desperately need more Might Might and Fury Fury, you can switch to Infinite Horizon, which should allow you to cap both boons, though with a different rotation and significant DPS loss.
    • Self-Deception is not strictly necessary when running Infinite Horizon, but can be used to cover more mistakes, or instances where clones die unexpectedly. If you are confident that it will not be needed, Riddle of Sand is more damage, and Renewing Oasis could be used if Regeneration Regeneration uptime is not permanent.

Non-SotO Relics

Relic of Thorns is generally the best core relic for condi builds, but it won't trigger on encounters where you're not taking damage from the boss. In such cases, you could consider other options:

  • Relic of the Mirage - depending on the boss, you might be able to trigger this a lot, and it is theoretically stronger than the recommended relic.
  • Relic of Durability - Regeneration Regeneration is very important thanks to Illusionary Membrane and Chaotic Persistence, so this can help with the uptime somewhat.

Utility

  • or

Usage

A big part of this rotation is maximising the uptime of Chaos Armor for Illusionary Membrane. This can be applied with Chaos Armor, Cry of Frustration, or by leaping in an ethereal field:

  • Ethereal Fields: Chaos Storm, and the Lesser Chaos Storm triggered by False Oasis (via Method of Madness)
  • Leap Finishers: Axes of Symmetry and Jaunt

Rotation

Throughout the rotation, you should use Jaunt. It's worth using for the damage alone, but the real value is that thanks to Self-Deception, it will generate an extra clone (provided you already have at least one). This allows you to reliably trigger Dune Cloak, and can also be used as a source of Chaos Armor.

Whenever Shatter is listed, use whichever is available with the following priority:

  1. Cry of Frustration
  2. Mind Wrack
  3. Diversion

Opener

  1. Phantasmal Warlock
  2. Phase Retreat
  3. Jaunt
  4. False Oasis
  5. Crystal Sands
  6. Dodge and cast Chaos Vortex
  7. Chaos Storm
  8. Cry of Frustration just before your Phantasms transform into clones (approximately 4 seconds after your cast Phantasmal Warlock)
  9. Jaunt to regain your third clone

Rest of the Rotation

After the opener above you want to be dodging as often as you can to trigger Chaos Vortex.

  • Try to cast Cry of Frustration off cooldown, and immediately recover three clones.
    • The best way to recover clones on this build is using Phase Retreat, then immediately using Jaunt back into position and casting either False Oasis or Crystal Sands.
    • It is worth slightly delaying skills that generate clones in order to guarantee you can get back to three as soon as possible.
  • Use Chaos Storm off cooldown.
  • Use Chaos Armor off cooldown.
  • Use Crystal Sands off cooldown.
    • Be mindful of your where you place the Mirage Mirror, as you will want to be able to access them later.
    • The Mirage Mirror spawns in the center of the skill's AoE marker.
  • Keep a charge or two of Jaunt for mobility or in case you run out of clones for some reason.

General Tips

  • Make sure to collect the Mirage Mirrors from False Oasis and Crystal Sands for extra casts of Chaos Vortex.
  • Dodge as much as possible while leaving yourself endurance to evade attacks. Be sure to only weapon swap when below 50% endurance so as not to waste any of the endurance gained from Sigil of Superior Sigil of Energy.
  • Jaunt and Chaos Armor can be cast during other skills' channels.
  • If using Infinite Horizon, make sure to never use Jaunt during ambushes as this will create new clones due to Self-Deception and will cancel the clone attacks.
  • False Oasis and Cry of Frustration have the same cooldown, so you may find it easy to always use False Oasis after shattering for clone recovery.
  • Phantasmal Warlock is a DPS loss if used regularly in your rotation, so is only used for the clones it generates.

Permanent or high uptime on the three key boons for an alacrity support, and capable of dealing good damage against bosses that attack frequently.

Deals ludicrous damage with a very simple while also taking care of an entire squad's Alacrity and Might.
