Overview

Power Vindicator is a very strong power DPS build for general open world that maintains extremely high dodge uptime and deals great area DPS as well as moderate single-target dps. It can also provide Stability Stability for 5 allies when using Legendary Dwarf Stance as well permanent Protection Protection and 10 stacks of Might Might, plus extended durations on all boons on allies when using Vassals of the Empire instead of Forerunner of Death. It is also technically capable of sharing Alacrity Alacrity when using 24px Legendary Centaur Stance together with the Salvation specialization. While the altered dodge mechanic requires some time to get used to it, it provides a very satisfying playstyle, especially in OW scenarios where Sigil of Superior Sigil of Stamina triggers frequently.

Skill Variants

Legendary Alliance Stance

  • Legendary Alliance Stance provides you with a larger toolkit through the flip mechanic (sources of Quickness Quickness, additional Might Might, Fury Fury, Regeneration Regeneration, Resolution Resolution and Protection Protection) and higher single-target damage, but is more diffult to execute well compared to Legendary Dwarf Stance.

Specializations

  • For some additional survivability, you can use Rapid Flow and Dance of Death; many of your abilities (including dodge with Forerunner of Death) apply stacks of Vulnerability Vulnerability. Dance of Death is not as strong as it used to be, but still a very easy-going way to increase your survivability.
  • For a strong boost to group utlity and personal survivability at the cost of a moderate chunk of your damage, Vassals of the Empire can be used to increase the duration of all boons on allies as well as permanent area Protection Protection and Might Might. The boons are shown in the ingame tooltip.

Retribution

  • Retribution increases your survivability versus harder enemies noticeably.
  • Retribution offers an additional 25% endurance regeneration, which results in 100% when paired with Vigor Vigor and Song of Arboreum.
  • It also increases Vigor Vigor uptime through evading while dodging and provides a good amout of passive healing through 24px Steadfast Rejuvenation.

  • Staff can be used for large amounts of CC damage through Surge of the Mists as well as some area healing and an additional block through Warding Rift.
  • The Rune of Superior Rune of Fireworks is not required (you can use Rune of Superior Rune of the Scholar as well), but it increases your uptime on Vigor Vigor and Fury Fury as well as overall boon duration at the cost of some damage.
  • The Sigil of Superior Sigil of Stamina triggers on every mob that grants experience, resulting in infinite dodges in general OW roaming as long as you keep killing enemies. Note that this does not require you to get the killing blow, you just need to damage the enemy enough to gain experience from its death.

Usage

Damage/CC

  • Your main sources of damage are your dodges and greatsword skills. Priority is placed on Eternity's Requiem and dodges, while Mists Unleashed and Phantom's Onslaught are used as fillers in between auto attacks. If in Shiro, keepImpossible Odds up and when in Jalis, maintain Vengeful Hammers.
  • For CC, using a Staff and Surge of the Mists is the best option, combined with Forced Engagement. Those two skills combined break most CC bars easily.

Survivability

  • Inspiring Reinforcement can be used to provide area Stability Stability.
  • Your main sources of healing are your two healing skills as well as passive sources of healing from Rapid Flow, Dance of Death or Steadfast Rejuvenation if you decide to use them.
  • Imperial Guard is a short-cooldown block that you can (and should) use instead of dodging to avoid incoming damage. This is because your dodges should be timed so that you maintain the passive benefits from either Forerunner of Death or Vassals of the Empire.
  • Both elite skills should only be used as a last resort when other sources of CC or defense are not available.

Dodge goes ungabunga. There's something oddly satisfying about squishing mobs just by falling on them. Vindi never stops pumping damage and it has great AoE to boot with fairly high sustain. I've been using this with minor tweaks since EoD for all the story content and metas.

I've been toying with this build a lot, and honestly it gets the job done fairly well, especially with the suggested sigil of stamina. If you chain your dodges well enough, considering you apply MASSIVE vunlerability, you can usually avoid a LOT of damage while cleaning up nicely. This is currently one of my favorite open world build, between the decent sustain on Saint Viktor skills (I personally run some celestial for survivability), utility of Achemorus' abilities (that dash is no joke, even if it has a decent cost, on top of the aoe stun) plus the and massive potential to avoid damage between the Greatsword counter + dodge, it's very satisfying to play. I honestly play with the traits here and there, but I never have felt the need to even go Retribution for survivability (although if you struggle, you could possibly swap Invocation for Retribution, as suggested, since I think Devastation brings much more damage to the table, it feels)
