A condition DPS build for Deadeye. Higher DPS than Daredevil, but Shadow Strike can be awkward to use in actual encounters and does not gain the powerful stolen skills.

Specializations

Specialization Variants

  • Uncatchable for slightly higher DPS if you think you'll be dodging a lot.
  • Burst of Agility for better personal DPS when group boon uptime is poor.
  • Malicious Intent if you need to bring Basilisk Venom as you won't have a cantrip in this case, and Malicious Intent will allow you to build up malice stacks faster if your rotation is disrupted.

Usage

After hitting a target with Shadow Strike, it flips to become Repeater for four seconds.

Your goal is to quickly build up seven stacks of malice and 15 stacks of Lead Attacks with Shadow Strike and Repeater, then stealth to use Malicious Sneak Attack and reset.

Opener

  1. Needle Trap
  2. Spider Venom and Skale Venom
  3. Deadeye's Mark
  4. Thousand Needles
  5. Shadow Strike
  6. Repeater x3
  7. Cloak and Dagger
  8. Malicious Sneak Attack

The third use of Repeater in the opener is just to guarantee that we reach seven malice stacks in case Shadow Strike or Cloak and Dagger don't crit, so you can interrupt the cast with Cloak and Dagger.

Use Cloak and Dagger in the opener to build up Lead Attacks stacks faster. During the loop you can prioritise your stolen skill (all deadeye stolen skills grant stealth if used when above five malice stacks).

Loop

  1. Shadow Strike
  2. Repeater x3
  3. Stolen skill, Shadow Meld or Cloak and Dagger
  4. Malicious Sneak Attack
  5. repeat

Prioritise Shadow Meld to gain stealth if you don't have a stolen skill available, or if you messed up and Revealed Revealed yourself.

Notes

  • If you jump immediately after using Shadow Strike such that the attack hits while you are in the air, then the shadowstep will not trigger, which can be very useful!
  • Use Weapon swap Weapon swap, Needle TrapThousand Needles, venoms and Deadeye's Mark off cooldown. Make sure to only use Needle Trap and Deadeye's Mark between steps 1 and 2 in the loop, otherwise you might miss your chance to use Repeater.
  • If the phase goes on long enough that you run out of initiative, use Hide in Shadows at step 4 in the loop to recover.
  • Try to only use venoms while four other allies are in range, or their potential will be wasted. Allies includes Mesmer clones, Necromancer minions, and Ranger pets.
  • You can pre-cast venoms on allies if you know the encounter will start within 24 seconds.

Breakbar

  • Basilisk Venom
