Paladin - Greatsword + Wand Large Scale PvP Build
- Good Support
- Good AoE CC
- Easy to Play
- Long Cooldowns
- Low Mobility
- Off-meta
Overview
First thing you should know is that this Greatsword and Wand Large Scale PvP build is off-meta and not one of the top picks when it comes to large scale PVP but still a decent build as it offers great CC through Cursed Nightmare and Karmic Haze from the Wand part of the build while the Greatsword is capable of AOE stunning enemies with Devastating Smash. This build is also more than capable of healing friendly players with Fountain of Life and Clay's Salvation or Swift Healing.
Attributes
For attributes, focus on Strength and Dexterity as your primary stats. Strength will boost your damage, increase the chance of heavy attacks (and stronger heals), and provide more health, which is essential for PvP survival. Additionally, Vital Force enhances both skill damage and healing effectiveness. Aim for 60 points in Strength to gain extra HP and improve your heavy attack chances along with your survivability. Dexterity increases your critical hit rate, improving your overall damage. Lastly, any remaining points should be invested in Perception for better hit rate, while Wisdom holds less importance for this build.
Skills
The Greatsword & Wand build is a great choice for those looking to play an off-meta build while still supporting their team and being generally useful as it enables for big plays to take place through its use of stuns and sleeps.
The highest single target damaging skills in your arsenal are Death Blow and Guillotine Blade and while they are single target skills, it allows you to peel for yourself, especially when paired with Stunning Blow. Meanwhile, Devastating Smash remains the main AOE CC while Karmic Haze and Cursed Nightmare are on cooldown. All these skills should take priority when upgrading and advancing your character!
Don't neglect the healing side of the build either though! Fountain of Life is a great AOE heal and can top up your entire group with ease between engages while also offering good mana regeneration to help with staying in the fight for longer. Swift Healing should be generally used on your other party members as it also heals you when used and Clay's Salvation is another AOE healing option you should use very often to keep your team healthy.
For passives, you should focus on upgrading Robust Constitution for additional health and health regen. Vital Force matches well with Robust Constitution and considerably increases your damage & Healing. Noble Revival is a direct passive increase to your healing while Selfless Soul allows for good mana regeneration.
Equipment
These are the first items you should strive for through the leveling period as they are very easy to get and upgrade or trait as needed. However, you shouldn't try to trait these items too much as you won't be spending too much time playing with this setup before you start changing pieces into the Midgame. The green accessories however are very easy to trait as you can craft many of them quickly in order to get the correct traits so you should consider traiting them until you change into purples. The same goes for the blue ring as you keep it for a long time.
This is the gear you should transition to once you're leveled to 50 and start grinding gear. It is comprised of gear you can get either from dungeons or by completing Litographs, they are relatively easy to trait up and you will spend most of the time wearing this set before advancing into the late game so traiting these items is very important and should be your main focus.
This is the current endgame gear you should aim for, and while it isn't easy to acquire, it offers great power without the need of acquiring archboss gear pieces. However, items like Tevent's Fangs of Fury or other archboss weapons are superior but difficult to acquire for the majority of players. If you do manage to get the archboss weapons for your build, feel free to use them over the weapons shown here.

Wand: Put 9 points in Weaken for a stronger skill boost and better mana efficiency. Spend 9 points in Recovery to increase your heavy attack chance and healing power. The last point should go into Damage to add some extra base damage, even if it’s not a major focus.
Greatsword: Since your primary damage comes from Greatsword combos, allocate 9 points into Face Off to increase your damage and heavy attack chance. Put the remaining 9 points into Incapacitate to enhance your stun chances and cooldown speed. The last point goes into Charge for some added ranged defense.
Rotations
- This rotation is mostly to help yourself get out of sticky situations when an enemy is pressuring you. However, you can also use it to kill a lone target if needed. Begin with Precision Dash followed by another one to latch onto the target and bind them. Continue with Stunning Blow and Death Blow before finishing them off with Guillotine Blade.
- This combo is simple but requires careful positioning, as you need to be close to your enemies to execute it effectively. Look for tightly grouped enemies, either during an enemy push or when your team is advancing towards the opposing zerg and your shotcaller is preparing for engagement. Start by selecting a target within the enemy cluster and use Touch of Despair followed by Cursed Nightmare. This will apply the Touch of Despair debuff and put the target to sleep. Then, cast Karmic Haze to spread both the Cursed Nightmare and Touch of Despair effects to nearby enemies, maximizing the debuff and crowd control across multiple targets.
Devastating Smash: Use this skill on its own to lock down enemies when you catch a group stacked together. You can also follow up by using the Green Ranger Elowen guardian to maintain the enemies caught in place by rooting.
