Overview

This build is a perfect mix between a healer and a DPS, which shines in less organized groups that normally run a full healer. Even though it's a condition build, the burst of a Firebrand is really solid and by no means bad in fractals.

Thanks to Writ of Persistence and Mantra of Lore this build heals up to five players for ~400/sec while still being able to hit for ~20k DPS on the golem.

It provides 100% Quickness Quickness, 100% Fury Fury, 100% Regeneration Regeneration, 35% Protection Protection, ~14 Might Might, options for Aegis Aegis and a lot of condi cleanse because of Mantra of Lore.

This build should be played with an Alacrity Alacrity provider that can also fill in the gaps in Might Might.

Utility

Weapon Variants

  • Even though it is lower damage than running only mainhand Pistol, Axe is taken to provide permanent Fury Fury uptime and an extra symbol for Writ of Persistence.
  • Staff can be taken to provide an additional burst healing option, or for players that don't own Secrets of the Obscure.
    • If running staff, Pistol/Torch is the better option for the other set (unless you need Axe).

Skill Variants

Utility skills

Swap out Purging Flames if you need extra utility

  • Mantra of Lore if you need extra Regeneration Regeneration or condi cleanse. You should run this skill if you take Legendary Lore, as you won't have spare pages to cast Chapter 3 Azure Sun Chapter 3 Azure Sun without Weighty Terms.
  • Sanctuary if more CC is needed.
  • Hallowed Ground if the stability of Tome of Courage is not enough.
  • Wall of Reflection if the reflect of Tome of Courage is not enough.
  • Bow of Truth for more healing.

Specializations

Trait Variants

  • If you are not fully consuming your mantras, you can take Legendary Lore for ~5 extra Might Might.
  • If you have classes in your group that provide enough Might Might, you could take one of the following instead of Empowering Might, but you will generate 9-12 less Might Might for your group:
    • Honorable Staff will give you 8% more boon duration, and another 8% if you're using staff.
    • Pure of Heart will result in more healing.

Equipment Variants

Relics

  • Relic of the Fractal is a significant DPS increase, but you lose quite a lot of healing.

Sigils

For an ~800 DPS loss, you can replace Sigil of Superior Sigil of Bursting:

  • Sigil of Superior Sigil of Transference for better healing.
  • Sigil of Superior Sigil of Concentration for better boon uptimes.

Infusions

  • You can also use healing infusions, if you prefer that.

Consumables

Food

  • to hit 100% burning duration as well as providing a 10% boost to healing.

Utility

Usage

The basic idea is to maintain high uptime of symbols while spamming Burning Burning with Tome of Justice. See Condi DPS for a detailed explanation of the DPS rotation.

Chapter 3 Azure Sun Chapter 3 Azure Sun is an overloaded skill in terms of healing and utility, so use it whenever you reach max pages. Having the spare pages to enable this relies on taking Weighty Terms.

Notes

  • Use "Feel My Wrath!" immediately, then as soon as it is available.
  • Use Mantra of Solace and Mantra of Lore once immediately, then once every time it gains a charge. Also be sure to use it to block dangerous attacks for your group.
  • Use all charges of Mantra of Flame.
  • You can either consume all charges of Mantra of Potence, or use twice immediately then another stack every time you gain a charge. The former is higher Quickness Quickness and provides pages via Weighty Terms, while the latter can be useful to spread out the Quickness Quickness more evenly if people are bad at stacking.
  • Never interrupt your axe autoattack chain.
  • Your dodges heal for ~1k because of Selfless Daring, so don't forget to use it if needed. You also maintain 70% Vigor Vigor on yourself thanks to Vigorous Precision.
  • Use Tome of Courage if reflection, Stability Stability or Resistance Resistance is needed. It can also be used to spam Swiftness Swiftness.
  • Use Tome of Resolve if burst healing or even more condition cleanses are needed.

Great for groups that don't quite need a full extra healer.

An okay build that can deal a good amount of damage but starts to struggle when the group struggles. I have tried this build on a few CMs and find it to do really well with damage and moderate with group sustain. You can easily expect 12-15k dps in nearly every CM fractal and have the potential to still provide a lot of utility. In good groups this build feels amazing to play. In less than good groups, you will find yourself or your party getting frustrated with frequent downs and occasional resets. The lack of a staff removes a good bit of burst healing and the removal of the scepter takes away a lot of dps, so there isn't a good middleground. Additionally, despite having 70% boon duration, taking legendary lore saw a significant decrease in quickness uptime, requiring boon duration food to maintain 90% or greater quickness duration and defeating the purpose of taking the trait. What you get in exchange for these potential negatives is a very independent build that does a lot of things well without committing to pure heals. In a group with sufficient DPS, you can expect that fights go by a lot quicker and smoother thanks in part to the DPS that this build brings while still offering the same utility. Overall, this build is pretty good. With higher AR, this build can be fine-tuned to do most things well rendering the standard HB obsolete for fractals. However, for most of us this build will be a large trade off that requires our party to be better than
