Harbinger - Quickness Support Healer

Focused on: Healing and Support

Designed for: Fractals and Raids

Difficulty:
Easy

Overview

With the shortest Shroud 4 cooldown on Necromancer, Harbinger can get more use out of Transfusion than other builds. Between this and Ritual of Life, it has perhaps the strongest res potential in the game.

In addition to decent CC, it provides 20 Might Might, 25 Vulnerability Vulnerability and permanent Fury Fury, Quickness Quickness and Regeneration Regeneration.

Unfortunately, as it doesn't provide permanent Protection Protection or much in the way of utility boons (mostly limited to Elixir of Ambition), the build is mostly a novelty.

Secrets of the Obscure added a number of potent healing weapons that significantly increased the gap between this build and the weakest "meta" healers. As such, it has been given the Basic rating.

Skill Variants

Utility
Elixir of Anguish is not required to maintain Quickness Quickness, so it is the first choice to swap out, but the other utilities can be replaced if Might Might is covered by someone else.

  • Well of Power if your group has a lack of Might Might (or you want a stunbreak and some self Stability Stability)
  • Corrosive Poison Cloud for projectile defence
  • Corrupt Boon or Well of Corruption for boon removal
  • Summon Flesh Wurm for body blocking certain attacks
  • Signet of Undeath for an additional res
  • Spectral Grasp for more CC
  • Well of Power or Elixir of Bliss for condition removal

Elite

  • Summon Flesh Golem for more CC.

Equipment Variants

Stats

  • Minstrel stats Minstrel stats can be taken (if tanking or if the encounter has no toughness tanking) for higher Healing Power and significantly increased survivability at the cost of DPS and some boon duration.
  • While not generally recommended, Plaguedoctor stats Plaguedoctor stats can be taken for higher DPS at the cost of Healing Power and boon duration. Take Septic Corruption if doing so and consider adjusting other aspects of the build for boon duration and healing.

Weapons

  • Staff can be taken in the second weapon slot for more Regeneration Regeneration, CC, and a condition transfer.
  • Mainhand Dagger can be taken instead of Pistol for increased Life Force generation, boonstrip, and self-healing, at the cost of reduced damage and CC.

Sigils

  • Sigil of Superior Sigil of Water instead of Sigil of Superior Sigil of Transference for an additional heal source at the cost of total outgoing healing.

Relics

  • Relic of the Zephyrite adds an extra ~25% Protection Protection uptime.
  • Relic of Mercy as ressing is your party trick, this has obvious synergy.

Consumables

Food

  • or ascended variants

Utility

Usage

Standard Rotation

The primary goals here are to share Quickness Quickness and heal, so stay in Harbinger Shroud and use Voracious Arc to heal (and port downed allies to you). Aim to start and end each loop with Voracious Arc, as the ticking healing from Transfusion should last almost until Harbinger Shroud is ready again.

When out of Harbinger Shroud, use utility skills off cooldown.

Other sources of heal :

  • Life from Death - your largest and most reliable burst heal.
  • Locust Swarm - pulsing life steal
  • Well of Blood - direct heal and Regeneration Regeneration
  • Mark of Blood - grants allies Regeneration Regeneration when you dodge
  • Sigil of Superior Sigil of Renewal - triggers on weapon swap or entering/exiting Harbinger Shroud
  • Ritual of Life - casts Lesser Well of Blood when you begin reviving a downed ally, healing and reviving nearby allies.
  • Sigil of Superior Sigil of Water - if taking instead of Sigil of Superior Sigil of Transference, procs on crits every 5 seconds (you have 30% crit chance with Fury Fury)

A bit of a meme, but was surprisingly effective when I tried it. The lack of protection on what is already a weak healer is a bit of a killer, but the absurd frequency of its transfusions does give it some value, especially as a secondary healer or when paired with a dps alac that can provide the missing protection.

Gandorpheus's comment below is spot-on, and I can add very little to it. It can barely deal with the "moderately threatening" pulsing arena damage on the player themself, let alone others, and any kinds of spike damage during actual encounters find basically no answer here. It *does* provide full Quickness and Fury uptime and reasonable Regeneration, but by themselves those can only do so much, and the survivability this build grants is negligible. There's not really anything this build does that, for example, Heal Quickbrand doesn't do better; if you're dead set on having a healer Necromancer then you should just go with a Scourge build instead, and if you really want to do Quickness then go for a DPS Harbinger build.
