Legendaries are <span style="color:#00ff00">'''convenience/cosmetic items'''</span> first and foremost, they won't help you out in PvP. They're stored in your account storage shared across all characters. Their stats can be changed for free any time out of combat and upgrades can be removed with a simple click.

Each step also assumes that you have the necessary materials from the previous step.

If you're starting from scratch then crafting {{Item|The Ascension}} might take you at least 2 seasons, as only 100 {{Tooltip|PvP League Ticket}} can be obtained per Conquest season and you'll need 125 in total. During the season itself there's no other timegating mechanism associated with this currency, you could even grind out all 100 in the first week.

Tickets may also be obtained through 2v2 and 3v3 miniseasons that take place between Conquest seasons.

There are some timegated achievements (like winning 3 ranked games a day 15 times) but technically these can be skipped if you do all the other achievements.

There are some timegated Year of the Ascension achievements, finishing these is going to take a minimum of <span style="color:#00ff00">'''60 days of playing ranked'''</span> every day.

While this could be done in stages, there's no real reason to postpone this and do itin parts. Mystic Essences are a part of all 4 meta achievements, but aren't gated behind them - if you do one essence achievement you can immediately do the next part's too. By ticking this part off all at once you spare yourself a few visits to the Mystic Forge.

==Step 4: Achievements==
 +
You're going to have to grind out <span style="color:#00ff00>'''4'''</span> sets of achievements called <span style="color:#00ff00>'''parts'''</span> before you could move on to the next step of the guide. This is going to take quite a while, but if you've done any PvP in the past then chances are the 1st set should be close to completion.

==Ascended Precursor==
+
'''Tip:''' 2v2 and 3v3 miniseasons are great for farming certain achievements like Daily League Participation and League Professional because Deathmatch games are shorter than Conquest ones.
You should work on Step 2 and Step 3 simultaneously, as building up your Ascended backpiece is part of the achievement progression too.

Head over to the League Vendor, open the 1st tab and buy:
+
The parts are built on each other, meaning that you'll need to <span style="color:#00ff00>'''finish'''</span> Year of the Ascension: <span style="color:#00ff00>'''Part I'''</span> in order to <span style="color:#00ff00>'''unlock'''</span> the achievements of Year of the Ascension: <span style="color:#00ff00>'''Part II'''</span>.
* {{Item|Recruit's Wings of Glory}} - cost: 10 {{Tooltip|PvP League Ticket}}

* {{Item|Veteran's Wings of Glory}} - cost: 20 {{Tooltip|PvP League Ticket}}
+
There are some <span style="color:#00ff00>'''exceptions'''</span> to this rule:
 +
* Achievements associated with playing 3 ranked games a day (Daily League participator).

* {{Item|Champion's Wings of Glory}} - cost: 30 {{Tooltip|PvP League Ticket}}
+
* Achievements that require you to finish League Tracks.

* {{Item|Elite's Wings of Glory}} - cost: 40 {{Tooltip|PvP League Ticket}}

Each wing is associated with one of the 4 achievement sections you need to complete, you don't have to buy them in a bulk. As soon as you have the currency to buy the next one, you should do it.
+
* Achievements related to purchased items, like the Wings or Essences.

After the last wing pick up some items from the 2nd tab:
+
When you finish these achievements you automatically <span style="color:#00ff00>'''unlock their next tier'''</span>, even if you haven't finished the meta achievement of the previous part(s).

* {{Item|Certificate of Support}} (5) - cost: total of 25 {{Tooltip|PvP League Ticket}} for the 5 certificates
+
For all the other achievements you must finish the part's meta first.

'''Note:''' the wings have to be bought in order, as purchasing one wing unlocks the next one at the vendor.
+
===''Year of the Ascension: Part I''===
 +
You must complete <span style="color:#00ff00>'''11 achievements for the meta'''</span> achievement. Most of these are simple time sinks, like winning 15 ranked matches or earning 40k rank points. Doing so will award you {{Item|The Thrill of Battle}}.

 +
The only ones that might alter your gameplay loop are:
 +
* <span style="color:#00ffff>League Dominator</span> - win 3 ranked matches ''in a day'', which might not be something you pay attention to usually.

==Step 3: Achievements==
+
* <span style="color:#00ffff>Daily League Participation</span> - play 3 ranked matches per day, 15 times. So little over 2 weeks of timegating.
You're going to have to grind out 4 sets of achievements called '''parts''' before you could move on to the next step of the guide. This is going to take quite a while, but if you've done any PvP in the past then chances are the 1st set should be close to completion.

 +
* <span style="color:#00ffff>League Professional</span> - complete 2 profession achievements (5 games on 2 different professions). This requires a bit of multiclassing, can't just spam all your ranked games on the same character.

The parts are built on each other, meaning that you'll need to finish Year of the Ascension: Part I to unlock the achievement of Year of the Ascension: Part II. There are 2 exceptions to this rule:
+
The rest you should get passively by the time you're done with these.
* Achievements associated with playing 3 ranked games a day (Daily League participator)

When you finish these two achievements you automatically unlock their next part, even if you haven't finished the meta achievement of the previous part(s).

For all the other achievements you must finish the part's meta first.
+
As soon as you have 10 {{Tooltip|PvP League Ticket}} head over to the League Vendor and purchase:
 +
* {{Item|Recruit's Wings of Glory}} (1st tab at the vendor), required for the <span style="color:#00ffff>'''Wings of Glory'''</span> achievement.

The only ones that might alter your gameplay loop are:

* {{Item|Veteran's Wings of Glory}} (1st tab at the vendor), required for the <span style="color:#00ffff>'''Wings of Glory'''</span> achievement.

Some of the achievements are simple purchases from the League Vendor:

Once you're finished and successfully obtained your {{Item|Tapestry of Sacrifice}} from the meta achievement continue to Part III.
* Wings of Glory - buy a {{Item|Recruit's Wings of Glory}}.

* Essence Collector - buy an {{Item|Essence of Determination}}.

Same achievements as Part II but the numbers have gone up yet again.

Finally there's some Mystic Forging left to do for Mystic Essence Collector. Combine:

PvP Legendary Back Item Crafting Guide

Introduction

This is a step-by-step guide which explains how to craft , the Legendary PvP Back item.

Always finish gathering everything in a given step before moving on to the next one! The guide is structured in a way that you'll hardly ever have to go to the same NPC or location twice if you follow the steps in the correct order. Each step also assumes that you have the necessary materials from the previous step.

  • Achievements are a bit of an exception, you don't have to wait for the materials to start grinding ranked.

If you have to craft s then make sure that you also have a character with 500 skill in one of the following crafting disciplines:

Otherwise crafting won't be necessary.

Timegating

If you're starting from scratch then crafting might take you at least 2 seasons, as only 100 PvP League Ticket PvP League Ticket can be obtained per Conquest season and you'll need 125 in total. During the season itself there's no other timegating mechanism associated with this currency, you could even grind out all 100 in the first week. Tickets may also be obtained through 2v2 and 3v3 miniseasons that take place between Conquest seasons.

There are some timegated Year of the Ascension achievements, finishing these is going to take a minimum of 60 days of playing ranked every day.

Step 1: Accountbound Materials

The first thing you have to do is get the following accountbound materials and PvP currencies:

  • (4) - comes from the final reward chest of the Glorious Reward Track. Completing this track twice should be enough as you can get 2 fragments from one chest if you opt for the 2nd fragment instead of the Exotic armor.
  • PvP League Ticket PvP League Ticket (125) - final reward of every non-repeatable League Reward Chest, earned through playing ranked games.

Universal currencies that are not strictly tied to PvP but can be acquired there too:

  • (between 0 and 40) - found in Rank-Up Chests and as random drops from most loot boxes that come from PvP Reward Tracks. Alternatively use on a level 80 character to earn shards instead of levels. However you won't need any unless you have to craft crafting s.
  • (2) - one crystal is made from a combination of 5 + + , so you'll need 10 of each. 1 Brick is made from 100 Pile of Bloodstone dust, 1 Dragnite Ingot from 100 Dragonite Ore and 1 Empyreal Star from 100 Empyreal Fragments. Could also drop from salvaging Ascended Chest, Leg, and Weapon slot items. Check your bank first because there's a chance you might already have enough of these.
  • (between 0 and 60) - used in crafting Bloodstone Bricks, Dragonite Ingots and Empyreal Stars. If you already have them gathering dust in your material storage, or already have 2 Vision Crystals then you won't need any shards.
  • (77) - contained in the final reward chest of many reward tracks, especially non-repeatable ones.

The following materials are related to the , if you already have this amulet then skip these:

  • (250) - random amount from most lootbags found in PvP Reward Tracks.
  • (250) - fixed amount from several lootbags found in PvP Reward Tracks.
  • (250) - fixed amount from most final chests found at the end of PvP Reward Tracks.
  • (10) - chance to be salvaged from Exotic gear level 68 or higher.

Step 2: Crafting Materials

This is the gold sink part of the process, you're going to have to get some crafting materials for some Mystic Forging.

Buy these from the Trading Post:

Note: if you already own a skip the T5 materials and grab only 250 of each T6 material, also 250 instead of 500

T6 materials (first half) T6 materials (second half) T5 materials Misc.
270 250 50 500
270 250 50 250
270 250 50
270 250 50

Step 3: Vial of Salt

Skip this step if you already own a

While this could be done in 4 separate stages, there's no real reason to drag out the process. Mystic Essences are part of all 4 meta achievements, yet aren't gated behind them - if you do one essence achievement you can immediately do the next part's too without having to complete the meta achievement. By ticking these off all at once you spare yourself a few visits to the Mystic Forge.

Enter Heart of the Mists and head over to the League Vendor near the Market Waypoint. Waypoint chat code: [&BNgJAAA=]

Open the 2nd tab of the vendor and purchase the following:

  • - cost: 25
  • - cost: 50
  • - cost: 75
  • - cost: 100

Note: the essences have to be bought in this order, as purchasing one essence unlocks the next one at the vendor.

Now visit the Mystic Forge and create a Mystic Essence of Challenge, Determination, Discipline and Success.

20 20 20 20
50 50 50 50
250 250 250 10

Optional: check your material storage for . If you don't have 2 of these then you might have to craft them later, and for that you must purchase 2 from Miyani (Mystic Forge Attendant) who's standing right next to the Mystic Forge. Picking up the stones now saves you a trip later.

At this point you should be done with the 4 Mystic Essence Collector achievements, but there's an optional step left. You could combine the 4 Mystic Essences in the Mystic Forge and create a :

Technically it's not required for but you won't need the essences for anything else and they'd only take up inventory space, so there's no reason not to. Enjoy your free Ascended Amulet!

The is also used in crafting the Legendary PvP Amulet . Check out our Transcendence crafting guide for more info.

Step 4: Achievements

You're going to have to grind out 4 sets of achievements called parts before you could move on to the next step of the guide. This is going to take quite a while, but if you've done any PvP in the past then chances are the 1st set should be close to completion.

Tip: 2v2 and 3v3 miniseasons are great for farming certain achievements like Daily League Participation and League Professional because Deathmatch games are shorter than Conquest ones.

The parts are built on each other, meaning that you'll need to finish Year of the Ascension: Part I in order to unlock the achievements of Year of the Ascension: Part II.

There are some exceptions to this rule:

  • Achievements associated with playing 3 ranked games a day (Daily League participator).
  • Achievements that require you to finish League Tracks.
  • Achievements related to purchased items, like the Wings or Essences.

When you finish these achievements you automatically unlock their next tier, even if you haven't finished the meta achievement of the previous part(s).

For all the other achievements you must finish the part's meta first.

Year of the Ascension: Part I

You must complete 11 achievements for the meta achievement. Most of these are simple time sinks, like winning 15 ranked matches or earning 40k rank points. Doing so will award you .

The only ones that might alter your gameplay loop are:

  • League Dominator - win 3 ranked matches in a day, which might not be something you pay attention to usually.
  • Daily League Participation - play 3 ranked matches per day, 15 times. So little over 2 weeks of timegating.
  • League Professional - complete 2 profession achievements (5 games on 2 different professions). This requires a bit of multiclassing, can't just spam all your ranked games on the same character.

The rest you should get passively by the time you're done with these.

As soon as you have 10 PvP League Ticket PvP League Ticket head over to the League Vendor and purchase:

  • (1st tab at the vendor), required for the Wings of Glory achievement.

Once you're finished and successfully obtained your from the meta achievement continue to Part II.

Year of the Ascension: Part II

Same achievements as Part I but the numbers have gone up, you'll need to play more games.

The only ones that might alter your gameplay loop are:

  • League Dominator - win 4 ranked matches in a day.
  • Daily League Participation - play 3 ranked matches per day, 15 times. So again little over 2 weeks of timegating.
  • League Professional - complete 2 profession achievements (win 5 games on 2 different professions). This requires a bit of multiclassing, can't just spam all your ranked games on the same character. You can do this on the same 2 characters you did Part I with, that still counts.

As soon as you have 20 PvP League Ticket PvP League Ticket head over to the League Vendor and purchase:

  • (1st tab at the vendor), required for the Wings of Glory achievement.

Once you're finished and successfully obtained your from the meta achievement continue to Part III.

Year of the Ascension: Part III

Same achievements as Part II but the numbers have gone up yet again.

The only ones that might alter your gameplay loop are:

  • League Dominator - win 5 ranked matches in a day.
  • Daily League Participation - play 3 ranked matches per day, 15 times. So little over 2 weeks of timegating, same as the previous parts.
  • League Professional - complete 3 profession achievements (win 7 games this time on 3 different professions). If you were only playing 2 characters it's time to pick up a 3rd.

As soon as you have 30 PvP League Ticket PvP League Ticket head over to the League Vendor and purchase:

  • (1st tab at the vendor), required for the Wings of Glory achievement.

Once you're finished and successfully obtained your from the meta achievement continue to Part III.

Year of the Ascension: Part IV

Same achievements as Part III but the numbers have gone up one last time.

The only ones that might alter your gameplay loop are:

  • League Dominator - win 6 ranked matches in a day.
  • Daily League Participation - play 3 ranked matches per day, 15 times. So little over 2 weeks of timegating, same as the previous parts.
  • League Professional - complete 3 profession achievements, this time win 10 games on 3 different professions.

As soon as you have 65 PvP League Ticket PvP League Ticket head over to the League Vendor and purchase 2 items:

  • , required for the Wings of Glory achievement.
  • (total of 5)

Once you're finished and successfully obtained your from the meta achievement you're officially done with the ranked grind.

Step 5: Vision Crystals

This is optional, check your material storage first. If you already have 2 Vision Crystals proceed to Step 6.

To create a Vision Crystal first you must make some Ascended materials.

For this you'll need either 425 skill level in Chef Chef or 450 skill level in either Armorsmith Armorsmith, Artificer Artificer, Huntsman Huntsman, Leatherworker Leatherworker, Tailor Tailor or Weaponsmith Weaponsmith.

  • (10) - crafted from 1000 + 20 + 100
  • (10) - crafted from 1000 + 20 + 100
  • (10) - crafted from 1000 + 20 + 100

can be bought directly from crafting trainers in bulks of 10, so buy 30 not 300.

Once you have all the necessary materials go ahead and craft 2 using the Bricks, Ingots, Stars and the s. For this step however you need 500 skill level in either Armorsmith, Artificer, Huntman, Leatherworker, Tailor or Weaponsmith.

Step 6: Mystic Forge

First create the Gift of Magic and Gift of Might with the materials you've bought earlier:

250 250
250 250
250 250
250 250

At this point double-click the 4 s in your inventory that you got from the , the final reward of the Glorious Reward Track to create a .

Create a Gift of the Competitor, Gift of Fortune, Gift of Skirmishing and Wings of Ascension by combining the following parts:

250 250
77 5
2
1

Now combine them all:

That's it, you're done! Congratulations, you're now the proud owner of the Legendary PvP back item .

Legendary gear goes straight to your account storage so don't look for it in your inventory, click the back item slot in the Hero panel and the legendary option should appear on the left, ready to be equipped.
